A/N: Another installment!!! Hopefully you like it.
Part 1 Part 2
“You did not” You laughed, throwing your head back as you struggled to control the volume of your voice.
“swear to god” He chuckled back, holding up his hand, “I told them I was a pizza delivery man”
You laughed even harder at that, squeezing your sides as you laughter became silent, struggling to pour out of your mouth. “a pizza delivery man? To a movie theatre? With no pizza and no uniform?”
“I panicked!” He was quick to defend himself “I just wanted to see an R rated movie”
“And you thought telling them you were a pizza delivery man would somehow get them to just let you go”
“Hey I figured you’d gotta at least be old enough to drive to be one” He tried to justify his actions but you could see that he was just making up shit on the spot only making you laugh harder. “Alright alright” He tried to get you to calm down, unable to fight the grin off of his face as he took a sip of his coffee “It’s not that funny”
“it really is” You disagreed, shaking your head and giving yourself a moment to catch your breath “I mean I just keep imagining a 12 year old you getting caught sneaking into an R rated movie and this big security guy comes up to you and your eyes go wide and you scream out ‘I’m a pizza delivery guy’ out of nowhere and I just-“ Your sentence trailed off as you fell into another fit of laughter, earning an overexaggerated eyeroll from Dean.
“Alright you’re turn tell me something embarrassing that you’ve done”
You let out a deep breath, giving a moment to think about it before looking up at the clock, unable to fight a small smile as you read the time “well would you look at that it’s time for me to go”
“no no no” He shook his head, leaning forward onto the table “it’s your turn”
“I’m going to be late for class” You shrugged innocently, a small smirk playing on your face as you started packing up your bag.
“That’s not fair I told you mine” He whined only making you giggle.
“what can I say time flies when you’re laughing at the misfortune of others” You winked at him as you stood up, throwing you bag on over your shoulders and heading towards the door.
“this conversation isn’t over Y/L/N” He called out after you sending a small blush to your cheeks as you looked back at him.
“Whatever you say Winchester”
He couldn’t help but smile at the sound of his name rolling off your tongue. Watching you walk through the door giving the man behind the counter a pleasant ‘have a good day’, wishing you could stay with him there just a few minutes longer.
“Who was that?”
A familiar voice snapped him out of his thoughts. His body moving automatically, sitting up straighter, tightening his jaw. Only to relax once Sam sat down across from him with his own to go coffee cup.
“no one” dean was quick to answer, blowing off the subject entirely.
“didn’t seem like no one” Sam teased with a small smirk only making Dean sigh.
“Don’t you have a class to get to”
Sam scrunched his brows, looking up at the clock “Yeah but how did you know that”
“I know everything Sammy” He winked at his brother, picking up his own cup and heading for the door before he could ask any more questions.
-
Your leg bounced quickly as you eyed the clock, more than desperate to get out of this class. While normally you didn’t mind this particular one, some days even enjoyed it, after your morning coffee date you were finding it hard to think of anything else.
It had just been so easy to talk to him, something that rarely happened with you. You were no stranger to uncomfortable silences but with Dean they didn’t exist. That’s not to say that you two were never silent just that when you were you felt no need to fill it. Conversation just always seemed to flow so easily and you were more than eager to listen to more of his ridiculous stories. Maybe even share a few of your own.
But right now you were stuck in an hour long lecture with no clue as to when you were going to see him again. If you were going to see him again.
He gave no indication that he didn’t have plans to ask you out again but you being you always had a small amount of doubt in the back of your mind. He seemed to have fun with you in the coffee shop today but still. He is Dean Winchester. He owns and operates both a successful mechanic shop and a bar. He is head of the towns main biker gang. He is hot as hell and constantly has women throwing themselves in his direction. He is this towns it boy. And you were just nobody.
The sound of zippers snapped you out of your thoughts. Your gaze snapping around you to see everyone packing up, preparing to leave, prompting you to do the same. Keeping your head down as you left the classroom, eager to get on with the rest of your day.
You stepped out of the building, ready to get started on your usual walk home, when you saw just the man who had been preoccupying your thoughts all morning sitting in the parking lot. A grin erupting across your face as you locked eyes with him, sending him a small wave.
Dean, however, just turned his gaze elsewhere ignoring you completely. Maybe he just hadn’t seen you.
Without any thought you started walking towards him. Not missing the fact that he still avoided eye contact with you up until you stopped directly in front of his bike “Hey Dean”
“oh…hey” His eyes merely glanced in your direction, scanning the building instead. His voice bored and flat, unlike you had ever heard it before.
“is everything alright?” You asked hesitantly, looking behind him to see a few more guys in similar jackets on bikes a few yards back. Barley taking note of your presence, too caught up in their own conversation.
“Everything’s fine” He answered simply, his back straightening just slightly as he watched someone walk out of the building. You turned around to see who he was looking at: Sam exiting alongside a few of his friends. Suddenly Dean bent down closer to you, his eyes shifting backwards almost nervously, whispering “look I’ll catch up with you later alright?”
Your hands immediately went to your backpack straps, anxiously pulling on them as you nodded “oh…ok”
Dean’s back straightened again as his gaze fixed back on the building, silently telling you to leave. So you did just that, taking slow, hesitant steps back towards the sidewalk, sending nervous glances back at Dean.
Maybe the date didn’t go as well as you thought.
-
You woke to a knocking on your door. The weight of your textbook on your chest slowly coming back to you as you peeled your eyes open, honestly not remembering having laid down to take a nap in the first place.
With a small groan you pushed the book onto the floor and pulled yourself to your feet. Making your way over to the front door only to see Dean standing behind it.
“oh…hey” You did your best to mirror his earlier tone. Leaning heavily against the door as you watched his shoulders tense up ever so slightly.
“yeah…” He sighed, running a hand through his hair at the base of his neck “I know”
“oh good” You rolled your eyes sarcastically, standing up straighter “as long as you know you were being a dick” You started to close the door on him, more than ready to collapse on the couch once again and just forget today ever happened.
Instead Dean reached out and planted a hand on it, keeping it held open “Y/N please. Just hear me out”
You sighed softly to yourself, that damn voice. The sound of remorse dripping through his words. You couldn’t just leave it like that. Slowly you opened the door again, stepping outside and shutting it behind you. “what”
Dean looked at your for a moment, as if he hadn’t planned on making it this far and didn’t know what to say. But he eventually found the words “look Y/N I’m really sorry about what happened in the parking lot”
“Great” You muttered “thanks. We done now?”
“No, please, I was just trying to protect you”
At this you chuckled dryly “right. protect me”
“I swear I-“
You cut him off before he could continue, crossing your arms in front of you “look if you’re ashamed to be seen with me in front of your friends or whatever just tell me. I’ll make it real easy for you to make sure that doesn’t happen”
“what?” He asked, taking a step towards you only to have you take one back “how could you think that?”
“I’m not stupid Dean” You chuckled humorlessly “You fucking run this town. Miles out of my league. Basically a household name here and I’m just nobody”
“You’re not-“
You cut him off again before he could continue “I know I’m not the only one who thinks that. I’m not pretty. Not well known. Not special. I’m nobody. It just hurt to see that you think of me that way too”
“Y/N I don’t think of you that way” His words came out as if he were begging for you to listen to him, just making you shake your head.
“then what the fuck was that Dean? You treated me like I was nothing but a waste of time, someone who could be pushed aside when inconvenient or something better comes along.”
“I was just trying to protect you!” He all but shouted, his voice dropping a few octaves making you step back. Dean’s face immediately dropping as you saw you do it, his voice dropping back down again “I just want to protect you”
“Protect me from what?”
“The gang” He cried exasperated.
You scrunched your eyebrows at him, shaking your head slightly “do you not trust the other members that much”
“It’s not them I’m worried about” He sighed, taking a seat on your porch steps. You hesitantly doing the same next to him, keeping your distance. “Look we do a lot of stupid, dangerous shit. Don’t exactly make a lot of friends. So if word got out that I was dating you they would come after you to try and get to me.”
“So you can’t let anyone see us together to protect me” You repeated hesitantly, not fulling buying into it quite yet.
“Not exactly” He explained “Most people are fine because no other gangs operate in this area. But if my guys figure it out then let it slip to someone they shouldn’t for whatever reason”
“Then my life would be in danger” You finished for him with a sigh “That doesn’t justify the way you treated me today Dean”
“I know. Believe me I know” He was quick to jump in “But I had the guys behind me, Sam heading towards me. We talked today about how bad I am under pressure with no plan right”
Despite yourself you couldn’t help but chuckle softly, scooting just a bit closer to him. “Yeah. It just. It hurt just being blown off like that. I started to worry that you didn’t like me like that”
“No believe me I do” He breathed out “Cause god it would be so much safer and easier if I just never saw you again. But I honestly can’t think of anything worse”
The corners of your mouth twitched upwards at his words. Scooting close enough that your knee grazed his, not daring to make eye contact just yet.
“I promise it will never happen again” He continued hesitantly “I’ll figure something out, better than just hiding you from the guys.”
Slowly you looked up at him only to see him already looking down at you, your eyes darting between his “you promise?”
“Cross my heart” He whispered with a small smile, dragging his finger of his heart in an x motion making you giggle softly.
Carefully you laid your head down on his shoulder, taking in a deep breath, not missing that Dean let out one of his own.
“So how about I try and make it up to you. Say tomorrow night? Dinner at my place?”
You smiled at his offer, at how hopeful his voice sounded. “I suppose I could get behind that”
He chuckled at that, running a hand softly through your hair “good. I’ll pick you up and hopefully not ruin whatever brownie points I gain on the date a few hours later.
You laughed at him, shaking your head “For your sake you better be doing more than just hoping”
Summary: Dean comes to rescue you after you’ve been captured.
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Warnings: Hell lot of swearing but you know that’s normal
A/N: Been sitting on this story for about a week and just decided to post it. Let me know what you think I love love love feedback!
Another punch was thrown at your jaw sending your head snapping back. You bit your tongue to keep from crying out, an action that had the demon laughing, loving the control he held over you. Slowly, he brushed his bloody knuckles (yours or his you honestly weren’t sure of at this point) on his shirt as he paced back and forth before you.
“Just tell me where Dean Winchester is, and this can all end”
“I told you I don’t know where he is” You spit, your tongue brushing over a tooth you were pretty sure didn’t wiggle before.
The demon just laughed again, punching you in the stomach making you double over. “I really don’t know why you’re protecting him”
Now it was your turn to laugh, leaning your head back as you started to loose the energy to keep it upright. “Believe me the last person I would want to protect is Dean fucking Winchester”
“We both know that isn’t true” He squinted his eyes at you, stalking menacingly around the room. “cute defense mechanism though”
“defense mech-“ You were cut off by a squeak in the floorboard. Both you and the demon snapping your attention to the doorway where it came from.
“Speak of the devil” he grinned, sending you a wink before walking over to the door and kicking it open. Grabbing a defenseless Dean Winchester by the shirt and throwing him onto the floor before you.
Dean quickly spun around, avoiding all eye contract with you, to face the demon. He was no doubt pissed that you had gotten captured, pissed that you had made him come and get you or some shit. No doubt whatever it was it was entirely your fault.
“Dean so nice of you to drop in” The demon grinned down at him.
“I followed all of your instructions now let her go” Dean growled, scrambling to his feet.
“Really?” The demon asked, raising his eyebrow “no backup? No weapons?”
“You can check if you want” He answered, holding open his outer layer to show that he was in fact weaponless.
“Alright” The demon nodded hesitantly “tie yourself to that chair, then I’ll let her go”
Dean didn’t hesitate, avoiding your eye contact again before tying his legs and arm to the chair. Letting the demon do the last one. “There all tied up now hold up you end of the deal”
The demon just laughed, walking back over to you “I hold all of the cards here. You’re both weaponless, backup-less, and tied to a chair. Next time seal it with a kiss”
Dean practically jumped out of his seat, trying to lunge at the thing as it ran its fingers through your hair teasingly.
“I think I’ll have some fun with this” He grinned, walking over to the table and grabbing a large knife off of it, waving it in the air in front of you.
“You touch her and I swear-“
“Can’t exactly do much tied to that chair can you?”
The two were interrupted by a knock at the door, a young man poking his head tentatively through the gap. “Sir we have a situation”
The demon made a show of rolling his eyes and sighing “that needs to be dealt with now?”
“Unfortunately”
Another sigh and he spun on his heel to face you, sending a small wink and a quiet “hold this” before thrusting the knife deep into your thigh.
You yelped as you looked down at it, more out of shock then anything, earning another shit-eating grin from the demon as he made his way back across the room and through the door.
Dean was jumping in your direction immediately, the knots he had tied himself coming apart easily allowing him to escape quickly and help you with your own. Not that you were of much help, spending a bit too long just staring at the knife handle sticking out of your thigh.
Dean put his arm under your shoulders, lifting you easily out of the chair and letting you lean heavily on him. “Whatever you do don’t take the knife out” He whisper-yelled at you.
“Yeah no shit” You grimaced back, wasn’t your first time being stabbed, probably wouldn’t be your last you didn’t need him babying you.
Dean just rolled his eyes and led you out of the room, the two of you doing your best to remain as quiet as possible.
A man came out from around the corner without either of you hearing him, being too preoccupied with your stab wound and breathing. He looked between the two of you for a second in shock before jumping into action, getting ready to charge. You looked over at Dean, supporting most of your weight and totally weaponless. There was no way this was going to end well. So without a second thought you pulled the knife from your thigh and threw it at him. The knife effectively landing between his eyes.
Dean wasted no time in lunging for the door to his right, pulling it open and dragging to two of you inside, shutting the door as quietly as possible behind you.
The two of you sat in silence for a few moments, waiting to see if any more footsteps would appear, before Dean decided to break it.
“You’re bleeding” He whispered, shrugging off his outer layer “you’re always fucking bleeding”
“Sorry next time you get tortured since you’re so much better at it” You shot back, lifting your leg just enough for him to place the jacket beneath it.
“I would at least know not to take the knife out” He muttered, starting to wrap it around your thigh.
“next time I’ll let him catch us” You rolled your eyes, grimacing as he tied it just above the wound, pulling on the sleeves a bit more than necessary. You could have sworn you saw the corners of his mouth tip up at that making you growl beneath your breath. “Whatever lets just get moving”
“You’ve been stabbed in the leg and are heavily bleeding we’re not going anywhere.” He growled “we’ll just wait for Sam and Cas”
“You really did just walk in here with no backup and no weapons” You shook your head, adjusting yourself to sit comfortably against the wall.
“It’s what he told me to do” He shrugged, locking his eyes on the ground.
“Right because demons are known for their strict moral compass”
“I was trying to save your life”
That shut you up immediately. He was right, he came to save you and you’ve done nothing but bitch and moan. And sure it wasn’t the best thought out plan but he was still here. That had to be good for something.
“How far out do you think Sam and Cas are?” You changed your tone, making it much softer and quieter than before.
Dean just shrugged “they wouldn’t exactly just let me come here so-“
“so you snuck out they have no clue you’re even gone” You finished for him with a sigh, resting your head back against the wall.
Dean just nodded, looking back over at you. The effects of blood loss were starting to sink in. Your limbs were starting to grow cold and exhaustion was starting to take over. You laid back against the wall, letting your eyes fall shut only to have Dean kick your foot.
“Keep them open sweetheart”
And while normally you would have objected to the nickname you just couldn’t bring yourself to do so, all energy to do anything leaving you quickly. Instead you just obeyed, snapping your eyes open but was ultimately unable to keep your head kept bobbing.
“Here” Dean sighed softly, making his way over to you and sitting down, leaning you against him so that your head rested on his shoulder.
Once again you didn’t object, just leaning your head against him and staring a back down at your leg wound. Deans jacket and most of your pants in that area were stained a deep red.
“Dean?” You asked hesitantly “am I going to die?”
“You’re not going to die” His words were quick and harsh, forcing you into an uncomfortable silence that Dean seemed to sense, quickly correcting himself “you’re just being overdramatic you’re going to be fine”
Feeling a bit better you hummed back at him, still staring at the wound “I never thought I’d be afraid of dying” You continued softly “Afterall I face it nearly everyday. But just sitting here in a closet. Slowly bleeding out.…Dean I’m scared”
Dean was quiet for a few moments, before he hesitantly grabbed your hand, giving it a small squeeze. “How about this. When we get back and I stitch you up I’ll gather all of your blankets and pillows, pop some popcorn and rent a movie”
You chuckled softly, giving his hand a squeeze back “Dean Winchester are you asking me out on a date?”
He paused for a few seconds, “and if I were?”
You chuckled again, unable to fight a small smile off of your face “I’d be alright with that”
Dean’s expression mirrored yours as he pressed a quick kiss to the top of your head “good”
You shuffled further into his shoulder comfortably, letting your eyes finally shut.
“You know what that means right?” He asked, giving his shoulder a small shake knowing that you had tried to fall asleep again.
“hmm?” You hummed lazily, refusing to open your eyes.
“Now you have to live. Cause we have a date and I never get stood up”
You laughed at him “is that so?”
“It is” He nodded. “Now keep your eyes open and stay with me”
“Just a short nap” You mumbled, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
“No” He objected shaking you slightly “Sam and Cas can’t be much longer”
“short nap-“ You repeated, your voice falling off at the end of it as you drifted off to sleep.
Dean listened as your breathing slowed even further, reaching out for your wrist to check your pulse, silently urging Sam and Cas to hurry up.
through with it until they heard the sounds of explosives fireworks. She makes a mad dash back to them and they didn’t want to risk getting in trouble with cops so they went back to the bunker.
Part 2 of the last one! Excited to start this one it’s going to be interesting.
How about the idea of the reader dating Dean and is close to Sam. They were bored out of their minds one day and decided to have some fun messing around Walmart and see how long it takes for them to get kicked out. They start giving each other dares to dumb things. Dean’s dare challenge to the reader was to set off fireworks on a random aisle. Dean gives her a small package that contains fireworks and a lighter. She goes down and different aisle to do it. Dean thought she wasn’t going to go
Lol sounds like it has the potential to be hilarious! I’ll try my best with it thanks!
You weren’t exactly sure what you were expecting the next day. But you must admit it was more than what you got.
Walking into class you both tried to make eye contact with and avoid it with Sam. Sneaking glances at him from across the lecture hall only to see him looking as normal as ever, laughing with his friends, taking notes, never looking over at you.
You weren’t sure what you really wanted from him. A thank you? Some small talk? Just acknowledgment? Cause you weren’t really sure you wanted any of that, it just sounded awkward considering you and Sam had never really talked before.
But then why did it bother you so much that he didn’t do any of it? You really shouldn’t expect anything from him anyways. Dean was wasted, the odds of him remembering anything from that night are next to nothing. And even if he had remembered why would he tell Sam?
But still you found it hard to truly pay attention to the lecture as your mind swam with questions, absentmindedly doodling on the page until the sound of backpacks being zipped told you it was time to leave.
With a small sigh you packed up and walked out of the classroom, heading outside ready for your usual trek home. When you paused slightly as you walked past the parking lot, locking eyes with a familiar figure sitting on a motorcycle by the curb.
A small smirk appeared on his face as he looked at you and you’d be lying if you said it didn’t make you blush. You debated walking over to him, just saying hi, making sure he was ok, when his gaze was pulled from you as Sam approached him, a grin appearing on his face as he greeted his brother.
And that’s when it hit you, he really didn’t remember you. Or worse if he did and the interaction clearly meant a lot more to you than it did to him.
But why did it really mean that much to you? He was just a guy. Granted a drop dead gorgeous guy. But just a guy, with a bike, head of a dangerous gang. Literally everything about him screamed stay away.
Still the idea of doing just that hurt like hell.
-
Dean leaned forward, resting his forearms on the handlebars of his bike, looking up at the building waiting for Sam to come out of it.
A small group of girls came pouring out of the doors, huddled together sending Dean hurried glances followed by giggling. The bike was always a chick magnet. He put on his best flirty smile, making a point to lick his lips and wave at a few of them.
Then his eyes fell on a girl following quite a bit behind the group, sending him the same hurried glances but not with any sort of smile. From the way she walked to her posture everything screamed stereotypical goody-two-shoes and he couldn’t help but smirk at the way she was casting glances his way. That was until he actually made eye contact with her. He faltered a bit, the smile slipping from his face as he watched her walk down the sidewalk. Something about her screamed that he knew her but for the life of him he couldn’t place it.
She looked back at him and he swears he gasped, as cliché as it sounds. She was beautiful sure but that wasn’t it, the way she looked at him told him that she seemed to know him too. Not that that was necessarily a weird thing, he admittedly had a bit of a reputation, but something about it just felt different.
“What’re you doing here?” The familiar voice snapped him from his thoughts and he immediately sat up straighter, clearing his throat in a vain attempt to hide what he was doing. Not that he was really doing anything worth hiding.
“Good to see you too Sammy” Sam just rolled his eyes, pausing in front of his brother’s bike “we’ve got a meeting”
“and you couldn’t have just texted?”
“And where the fun in that” He winked, sending a glance back at the girl only to see her starting to disappear further down the sidewalk, no longer looking back at him.
“You just wanted to stare at college girls”
“What can I say I have a thing for college babes”
-
You had just walked around for a while, not really wanting to go home yet, knowing that just locking yourself alone in your room wouldn’t be the best idea right now. But at the same time really having nowhere else to go.
You debated the library for a while but decided it was best to avoid there for a bit, the librarians didn’t seem to happy with you last time you had made them stay late. So to the bookstore you went, buying a coffee from the café inside and just sitting with a book, allowing yourself to escape to another world for a bit and not think about your own stupid problems.
But as usual when you looked up it was dark, an intense feeling of déjà vu setting over you as you quietly packed your things and headed out of the store, the shop owner giving you a curt nod before locking the door behind you.
You debated if you really wanted to walk back the same way as before, snaking your way in front of the bar, or if avoiding it all together was best. But at this point how much more harm could be caused by a simple walk in front of a bar? At least that’s how you justified it to yourself.
Unconsciously you gripped the straps of your backpack a little tighter as you neared it, the place looking just as it did the night before, lit up and busy. You didn’t even notice how you held your breath as you walked past the door, bracing yourself a bit as you did so, only to let everything go as soon as you cleared it. In relief or disappointment you honestly weren’t sure.
Unceremoniously you continued your walk back, your footsteps falling into a familiar rhythm as you kept your head down low, when you heard the ringing of a bell followed by loud, fast footsteps.
“Hey, wait up”
Your heart leapt into your throat as you recognized the voice, your feet stopping more of their own accord than anything else, spinning around to catch the man you had been hoping to see all day running towards you.
“Hey look who’s sober”
The words had fallen from your mouth before you could stop them, your eyes widening just a bit as you realized what you had just said, wanting nothing more than to disappear on the spot.
But to your surprise he laughed, putting you more at ease as he threw his head back, letting it take over him.
“It was you then”
You furrowed your brow, hooking your fingers into the straps of your backpack, “what was?”
He immediately started digging around in his jacket pocket, fishing out a stickynote folded in half “the girl who left this note”
You took it from him, unfolding it despite already knowing what was written on it, chuckling a little to yourself “you kept the note?”
“uh-yeah” He stuttered slightly, only making you laugh a little harder, the mere thought of the Dean Winchester stuttering being rather hilarious. “it was sweet”
“Just wanted to make sure you knew where it was in the morning” You shrugged it off, handing him back the note.
“Can I ask you, what exactly happened last night?”
You chuckled again, “You just ran into me as you were being tossed out of the bar or something” You answered vaguely, not really having more details than that “so I talked you out of driving back and made sure you made it home”
“Then took me upstairs, took off my shoes, left out a bottle of aspirin and water and a note” He smirked slightly down at you, your heart jumping ever so slightly at the sight.
“You were quite literally falling asleep on me” You justified quickly, trying your best to avoid sounding like a creep “I didn’t fully trust you to make it to your place.
He chuckled softly at your comment, nodding slightly “alright well how about I walk you home for a change?”
“Oh no you don’t have to” You were quick to but in “I’m sure your friends in the bar would miss you”
“They’ll be fine” He shrugged it off “and just think of it as a thank you for taking care of drunk me”
“You don’t have to thank me though, it wasn’t a big deal”
“It was” He objected “but fine, think of it as an act of chivalry then. Can’t let a woman walk home alone in the dark”
You didn’t really have a comeback for that one, just looking up at him with a raised eyebrow, shaking your head. “alright fine”
You could have sworn his smile grew at your words but pushed it off as wishful thinking, casting your gaze down to your feet as you started walking. Dean falling in step beside you.
“So I’ve got to ask” He began, “why did you help me?”
“I’m in a class with your brother so I recognized you” You shrugged “also you were unexpectedly nice to me so I thought I would return the favor”
“Unexpectedly?”
You couldn’t help but chuckle, “yeah, no offense or anything, but hot guy in a motorcycle gang is not a kind stereotype”
He paused for a moment, falling ever so slightly behind you before answering in such a way that you could hear the smirk on his face “so you think I’m hot?”
You rolled your eyes, keeping your head down trying desperately to hide the blush dusting your cheeks “If you could just remember the things you said about me last night you wouldn’t be so cocky about that comment”
At this he did freeze, the smirk dropping from his face immediately and a more serious tone taking over his voice “wait what did I say?”
You just laughed, keeping with your pace as he jogged slightly to catch up, grabbing you by the arm and spinning you around to face him “that’s not fair what did I say”
You just winked at him, doing your best to keep your laughter in, before spinning back around and continuing on your walk.
“that’s not fair” He whined from behind you, jogging again to catch back up.
“Hey I get to keep some secrets for myself”
“Alright just tell me” he tried “it wasn’t anything bad right?”
“no it wasn’t anything bad” You indulged him, almost laughing as you saw him physically relax.
“Ok good” He sighed slightly, putting his hands into his pockets “glad to know I was kind to you too”
“perfect gentleman” You assured him with a smirk.
“gotta make a good first impression” He winked at you making you laugh.
“that you did”
“good enough to earn me a coffee date?”
You nearly tripped over your own feet as his words, “wait, really?”
He laughed at your response, smiling down at you “well yeah. I’d love to learn more about the beautiful, kind, smart woman who saved my drunk ass”
You stuttered, your gaze snapping back to your feet “I mean-uh-yeah-sure-I’d like that”
“Good” He grinned “me too”
You hesitantly raised your gaze to look up at him, smiling softly down at you, and returned it. The two of you then falling into a comfortable silence as you continued your walk, a breeze flowing through the trees sending a small shiver up your spine.
“You cold?”
You shook your head immediately, “no breeze just caught me off guard”
Before you could protest he was shrugging out of his jacket, holding it out to you wordlessly with another smug smile on his face.
“Big tough biker guy offering his leather jacket to some girl on the street. How adorable” You laid it on thick with a smirk as you watched him roll his eyes, expecting him to put it back on but he kept his arm held out, wordlessly telling you to take it.
“Are you even allowed to give me that?” You asked him, not baking down.
“I do whatever the hell I want” He rolled his eyes, pushing the jacket at you again “now shut up and take the damn jacket”
You couldn’t help but chuckle as you finally took it from him, pausing for a bit to put it on while Dean held your bag. Of course the thing was much too big for you, the sleeves going far past your wrists, but you had to admit it was warm. You held out a hand for your bag back, looking back up at Dean only to see him smiling down already back at you, a faint blush covering your cheeks at the sight.
“Now this is the part of the movie where you tell me it looks good on me” You teased again, putting back on your backpack to continue the walk back.
Dean just laughed, throwing his hands in his pockets and letting the silence wash over the two of you for a few moments before speaking in tone barley louder than a whisper “It does. Just for the record”
You bit the inside of your cheek, your gaze falling back to your feet as you giggled softly to yourself, choosing to let that one slide.
You walked beside him for a few blocks more, a comfortable silence shared between the two, before you stopped suddenly, really wishing you didn’t have to. “So-uh-this is me” You pointed awkwardly up at the building in front of you.
He smile faltered slightly as he paused with you, looking up at the building, but quickly regained his composure, smirking back down at you “so does my act of chivalry get me any kind of reward?” He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively making you roll you eyes, hitting him playfully on the arm.
“You know drunk you and sober you have quite a bit in common”
“I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or not” He laughed, “but I will take it as my cue to leave. Goodnight Y/N”
You smiled back at him, making small, hesitant steps towards your doorway “goodnight Dean”
He stayed in place for a moment, just watching you as you did the same, before the two of you reluctantly turned your backs on each other, ready to walk your separate ways. Before you called out to him “wait Dean”
He spun around quickly, trying to keep his demeanor as calm and nonchalant as possible.
Before you could talk yourself out of it you strode quickly over to him, going up on your toes and putting your hands on his chest to steady yourself, pressing your lips softly and briefly against his cheek.
He froze in surprise, watching as you lowered yourself back down and took a few steps back, his mouth hanging open ever so slightly as his hand went up and hovered just over his cheek.
“thanks for walking me home” You all but whispered, softly smiling up at him for a brief moment before walking back to your door and going inside, leaving Dean frozen in place on the stoop.
Summary: You have to attend a charity ball to distract a rich guy resulting in a jealous Dean
Pairing: Dean x reader
Warnings: Probably swearing
A/N: No request I just felt like writing it so let me know what you think
You sat doubled over in the small chair, loud laughs raking your body as you squeezed your stomach, tears starting to fill your eyes. Sam just stared at you with one eyebrow raised, sitting across the table from you watching you laugh. Not daring to say anything more to set you off.
Dean suddenly burst through the motel door, you too preoccupied with your laughter to notice the long package hidden behind his back. He looked between you and Sam from the doorway, his brows drawn but a smile still playing on his face as he watched you try and control your laughter.
“What’s going on here?” He asked, carefully shutting the door behind him with his foot.
You wiped at your eyes, clearing any tears that threatened to spill over, struggling to catch your breath. “Sam here seems to think I’m going to the charity ball”
You watched as Sam and Dean shared a look much too similar to that of a deer in headlights.
“Which is funny” You continued suspiciously “because we agreed before that I wasn’t going”
The brothers just stayed silent, Dean shifting awkwardly in the doorway, keeping one hand hidden behind his back. The two sending suspicious looks across the room to each other, no doubt having a silent conversation without you.
“Because I’m not good at stuff like that” You continued to ramble, not liking how long they were willing to let you go “and I’d have to wear a dress which I didn’t even bring”
Dean gave you a sheepish smile, slowly pulling the package out from behind his back to reveal a long dry cleaners bag. You were on your feet in an instant, knocking the chair back as you glared at him.
“The fuck Dean?”
With a sigh he set the bag on the bed, sending Sam a small glare, “we found out the guy’s got an eye for you”
“You just found out?!” You threw your hands up in frustration, starting to anxiously pace the room.
“Come on Y/N” Sam tried breaking in “you saw the way the guy was while you were interviewing him”
“Yeah he was being nice”
“He was flirting” Dean cut in, his voice showing quite a bit of annoyance, no doubt at the fact that you weren’t just going along with his plan.
“He was not” You interjected “He was being civil”
“Come on sweetheart” Dean sighed, walking over to you and seizing you by the arms “it won’t be too bad, we’ll get Champagne, do some dancing, and you’ll just distract him while we sneak upstairs”
You pouted up at him, “I’d rather be bait on a wendigo hunt”
He just laughed, pulling you in for a hug, resting his head on top of yours. “It’ll be alright”
You just sighed giving yourself a minute to sink into his hug before pulling back from him. “For your sake it better be”
-
You pushed up on your elbow, giving yourself a few extra inches of reach required to grab the zipper on the back of your dress.
With nervous hands you reached down and smoothed out the dress, reluctantly looking at yourself in the mirror. And though you weren’t expecting anything special you had to give Dean props, the dress fit like a glove, accentuating all the good parts of your body. The cut, style, and color all fitting you perfectly.
Nevertheless you ran a nervous hand through your hair for the millionth time, trying desperately to tame the carefully done updo that had taken you much too long to do.
Three short raps sounded on the bathroom door, Dean’s voice shortly following “Y/N it’s time to leave are you ready yet?”
Thankfully his voice didn’t seem angry, quite a bit of pity seeping through, but no anger which was about the last thing you could deal with right now.
“Almost” You called back, putting in your earrings and giving yourself one more once over before walking out of the bathroom before you could talk yourself out of it.
Dean had his back to you as you stepped out, looking around for the ridiculously high heels you were stuck with for the night.
“Well it’s about time” He joked, knowing how nervous you were about tonight and trying to at least lighten the mood for you.
He turned around to face you, playing with his cufflinks for a moment before freezing as his eyes landed on you.
You heard a soft clink from across the room and looked up from your shoe buckle to see Dean staring at you, his mouth hanging open slightly with his hand tangled in his shirt cuffs, the cufflink fallen and forgotten on the floor.
You could feel your cheeks heat up as you watched his eyes scan up and down your body, feeling slightly awkward underneath his gaze.
You played with your hands as you looked at him, expecting him to snap out of this after a second, but the second continued to stretch, Dean’s mouth opening and closing several times as he struggled to get the words out.
Deciding not to put him through any more of what was already happening you walked over and picked up his cufflink, wordlessly taking his hand and attaching it for him.
“Thanks” His gruff voice filled your ears making you jump slightly, looking up at him through your lashes.
“No problem” You smiled, taking a step back from him, smoothing down your dress again.
Dean went back to just looking at you again, his tongue darting out to wet his lower lip,
“Hey Dean” You broke him from whatever thoughts were preoccupying him “I have a confession to make”
“Oh?’ He asked, looking at you curiously.
“I-uh-“ You started to stutter, looking down at your feet “I don’t know how to dance”
He just chuckled at you amusingly, flicking out his wrist to check his watch, “Well we’ve got a few minutes”
You raised an eyebrow at him as he walked over to you, holding out his hand to you. Reluctantly you took it, letting Dean pull you to your feet in front of him.
“Alright put one hand on my shoulder and the other in my hand”
You followed his instructions, letting him pull you closer to him by a hand on your waist “and now what”
“Now we just sway” He smiled down at you, “just follow my lead, let me do all the work”
“Alright” You nodded, following Dean’s lead as he swayed you slowly back and forth “that’s not too bad”
“Nope” He smiled down at you, “but now a spin”
Without much more warning he raised the hand holding yours, prompting you to spin quickly on your feet before all but falling back into his arms with a giggle.
Dean chuckled back down at you in response, seamlessly going back to swaying again “you’re a natural”
You rolled your eyes in response but was unable to fight the grin from your face, choosing instead to look down at your feet in an attempt to keep from stepping on his.
“You look beautiful Y/N”
His words caught you by surprise, the way they were all but whispered into your ear sending a shiver down your spine.
“Really?” You asked him in disbelief, pulling your gaze back up to meet his.
“Breathtaking” He confirmed with a soft smile, never breaking eye contact.
A blush crept back over your face as you looked back up at him, hardly even registering the soft swaying motion neither of you had stopped.
Dean opened his mouth again, ready to say something more, when the sound of the door being opened made the two of you jump apart on instinct, awkwardly avoiding eye contact with Sam as he stepped into the room, eyes darting back and forth between the two of you suspiciously.
He sent Dean a look you couldn’t quite discern before looking back at you with a soft smile “You clean up well Y/N”
“Thanks Sam” You nodded at him.
“You ready?” He asked you, holding open the door, gesturing to the impala.
“Yeah” You answered “I just need to grab my-“
You were interrupted by the sight of your purse being thrusted into your field of vision. You followed the arm holding it to see Dean looking at you with a small smile. Returning the look you grabbed the purse, making a point to look him the eyes as you thanked him, both of you knowing it was for more than just the purse.
-
You stepped out of the impala on uneasy feet, your heels wobbling slightly beneath you as you reminded yourself to keep your head high and walk with confidence. Two things you didn’t feel further from at the moment.
Dean held his arm out to you immediately, offering you a stable support as you walked across the uneven gravel of the parking lot.
The two of you paused at the door, you reluctantly letting go of his arm. “You know he’s seen you with me before. It wouldn’t be that weird if you walked me in”
Dean looked reluctantly over to Sam before giving you a sad smile “sorry sweetheart. Probably best if you’re not seen with another man on your arm.”
You just nodded, taking a deep breath and holding your head just a bit higher, walking into the ballroom as confidently as possible.
Dean watched you walk away, his hand absentmindedly reaching out to you. Sam came up behind his brother, giving him a pat on the back. “Come on lets make this quick”
Dean watched you make your way up to the mark, the man happily greeting you with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“agreed”
-
The two snaked their way around the walls towards a grand staircase at the back of the room, nothing more than a velvet rope strung up to stop them. The brothers looked over at you, dancing and making small talk with the mark.
“Alright let’s go” Sam nudged his brother, starting to make his way to the staircase when he saw Dean wasn’t following him.
“I think I’ll stay here” Dean brushed him off, not taking his eyes off of you “keep an eye on Y/N”
Sam sighed in response “He’s just some rich tool she’ll be fine”
“All the more reason to keep an eye on her” Dean grumbled, earning an eyeroll from Sam, but he waisted no time in climbing over the rope and making his way upstairs.
Dean’s eyes danced eagerly between you and the staircase, urging Sam to hurry up. He could feel the anger start to swell within him as he watched you laugh and smile as you danced with him.
This was his idea. That’s what he kept telling himself. He was the one who pointed out that the man liked you. The one who talked you into it. Hell the one who got the dress. He had just never dreamed you’d look so good in it.
But ultimately it was his fault. His fault that you were here. His fault that you were forced into an uncomfortable situation. The only thing that didn’t seem to be his fault was the enjoyment he saw playing on your face right now. The one thing he actually wanted to be the cause for.
He tapped his foot anxiously, avoiding eye contact with anyone who looked in his direction, waiting eagerly for Sam to appear on the top step with the briefcase they had come here to get.
-
“I must say you are a wonderful dancer”
You chuckled in response, “thank you. But I must admit I learned to do so no more than twenty minutes ago”
He laughed in response, raising an eyebrow at you “now that’s just impressive”
You shook him off, “it’s basically just swaying, nothing to complicated right”
A grin appeared on his face at your words “well then I suppose it’s my job to challenge you”
Before you could protest you felt his hand go up just as Dean’s had done not long ago, prompting you to spin in place. You did so as carefully as possible, trying not to come crashing into his chest as you did with Dean.
He didn’t seem to mind though as you did so, eagerly wrapping an arm around your waist to keep you pressed against him with a chuckle. “see a natural”
You bit the inside of your cheek “I don’t know if I’d go that far”
He didn’t say anything further, prompting you to rest your head against his chest, not having much room to do anything else with how closely he held you.
“You look beautiful Y/N”
You swear you gasped against him. A familiar shiver running down your spine as he whispered the words. You pulled back from him slightly, looking up through your lashes at him, ready to speak when the two of you were interrupted. A slight tapping on the mans shoulder prompting him to drop his arm from around your waist.
“Do you mind if I cut in?” A familiar deep voice sounded from behind the mans shoulder all but making you sigh in relief.
He looked down at you hesitantly, clearly not wanting to leave.
“I’m sure you have other guests that require your attention” You tried, watching Dean inch closer towards you, his hands balled into fists
“You could always join me” He smiled down at you, taking one of your hands in his and squeezing it softly.
Dean clenched his jaw at the action, fighting the urge to step in and cause a scene.
You smiled up at him “how about I join you shortly?”
“Alright” He reluctantly agreed, sending Dean a look before making his way from the dance floor, leaving you and Dean alone finally.
You started to walk off the floor, more than ready to go back to the motel room and get out of your heels when you felt him pull you back, staying rooted on the dance floor.
You raised an eyebrow at him but let him pull you back into him, placing a hand on your hip and grabbing your other one, starting to sway the two of you back and forth.
“Dean what are we doing” You whispered to him “shouldn’t we get out of here before anyone realizes it’s missing”
“Well just give Sam a bit longer to escape before you disappear” He shrugged, his grip on you tightening slightly “he will definitely notice when you leave and that may cause a scene”
“Alright” You shrugged “but shouldn’t I have stayed with him? distracting him as long as possible?”
“No” Dean answered immediately, almost growling the word “that’s not necessary”
“uh-ok” You stammered, not wanting to push it any further.
Dean watched the way you seemed to shrink at his demeanor, doing everything to avoid his eye contact, how uncomfortable you looked in that moment. He sighed heavily, “I didn’t like the way he was looking at you”
“The way he was looking at me?” You repeated
“Yeah” He sighed again, “like he was in love with you”
You just looked up at him with scrunched up eyebrows, eyes scanning his face trying to figure out what he was getting at.
“You’re going to make me say it aren’t you” He chuckled humorlessly “I was jealous”
Your feet faltered, coming to a standstill until Dean pulled you back into the dance not wanting to make a scene.
“You…You were jealous?”
He just nodded, clearing his throat awkwardly.
You couldn’t even comprehend what was happening. Someone that looked like Dean Winchester actually liked you? That just didn’t happen.
“I mean god with you in that dress” He continued “I wouldn’t have let go of your arm when we walked in if it weren’t for Sam”
You blushed again, your gaze flying to your feet as usual. “Well welcome to my constant state of being”
It was Dean’s turn to freeze on his feet, you taking over the part of leading to pull him back.
“I mean with all the women you talk to whenever we go can you blame me?”
You saw the smile creep across his face, one forming on your own at the sight “So if I were to ask you out right now…” He began, letting the end of the sentence hang in the air.
“Oh no that’s not how it works” You laughed “You ask me out then you get my answer”
He rolled his eyes dramatically but kept smiling, “alright Y/N Y/L/N would you go out with me?”
“I would love to “ You answered immediately with a grin.
“Good” He grinned, “cause I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now.”
“And it only took you forcing me to do something I don’t want to do then getting jealous when I comply”
Request: Sam x reader where the reader is an anthropology student and helps them with a case.
Pairing: Sam x Reader
Warnings: none
A/N: I kind of just learned what anthropology actually was so I apologize for any inaccuracies or if this just sucks in general I tried my best. Also I know I promised a different Sam fic but as mentioned my computer deleted it and I honestly would rather write something knew then try and write the same thing again so that is being pushed back.
You hummed softly as you typed away on your computer, putting the finishing touches on the report due at the end of the week, getting more and more excited of the thought of finally being able to go home and crash.
Taking care to save your work, having learned the hard way more than once what not doing so would do to you. You reached for your bag, shoving various textbooks and notebooks into it, watching the screen load as you carefully backed up your work.
Throwing it over your shoulder you finally shut down the computer and headed out of your office, pausing slightly at the scene in the reception area that unfolded before you. Two very attractive men in suits were talking to the receptionist Laura, explaining something about being FBI agents.
You made eye contact with the taller of the two, sending him a shy smile before fixing your gaze on the door, more than ready to put the office behind you for the night when you heard it.
“I’m sorry but Professor Morrison isn’t here today, but I could connect you with someone who works closely with him”
You froze on the spot, turning on your heel to glare at Laura, rapidly moving your hand in front of your neck, signaling that you did not want to be a part of this right now.
She just laughed slightly as the shorter one agreed to meeting you. You just hardened your glare, making a gun shape with your fingers and bringing it up to your temple.
“Excellent she’s right behind you”
The two men spun on their heels quickly to face you, barley giving you time to drop your hand just making her laugh louder. “Hi I’m Y/N Y/L/N” You planted on your best fake smile, holding out your hand to the man closest to you, the taller one “I’m a grad student under Professor Morrison”
“Sam Winchester” The man introduced himself, the shorter one immediately elbowing him in the ribs as he shook your hand.
You choose not to question it, turning to the other man who introduced himself as Dean, before he sent a look up to the other man. “we’re with the FBI we were just hoping to get some help with a case”
“Of course my office is just down that hallway” You pointed over their shoulders, ushering them towards it but making sure to send another glare back at Laura behind their backs who just teasingly waved at you.
“What is it I can do for you Agents?” You asked as you led them into your office, ushering them into the two chairs you had in front of your desk, taking your seat behind it.
“We’re here investigating the disappearance of several children in the area” Sam started to explain as Dean fished his phone out of his pocket.
“Yes I heard about those” You nodded sympathetically “but forgive me I don’t know how I can help”
“Well one of the mothers happened to be on the phone with one of the kids when he disappeared, and we were able to secure this” Dean explained before pressing play on his phone. Immediately the sound of a soft, eerie song filled the air. Sweet, quiet lyrics in a language you couldn’t put your finger on played for a bit before all of a sudden it went dead silent, three quick knocks on some surface sounding before a deafening crack and the beeping of a call dropping.
“You don’t happen to recognize that song do you?”
You shook your head, doing your best to rack your brain “I can’t say that I do”
“We think it could be important to cracking this case” Sam explained, sitting forward in his chair “so anything you can find out for us about this would be helpful”
“Of course” You nodded, reaching across your desk towards a business card, grabbing a pen and scribbling your cell number on the back of it, “here’s my card just go ahead and send me the audio file and I’ll do me best”
Sam sent you a thankful smile as he took the card from you, the two standing up to take their leave as you did the same. Dean gave you a curt nod, heading for the door and showing himself out, Sam pausing in the doorway for a bit longer.
“It was-uh-nice meeting you” He reached out to shake your hand again, making a point to make eye contact with you, and truth be told you couldn’t help but blush beneath his gaze, trying your best to remain as professional as possible.
“You too agent”
His smile faltered ever so slightly at your words though you couldn’t imagine why. He regained it so quickly, however, it made you almost question if you had seen it in the first place.
Giving you the same nod he headed out of your office, following his partner back out of the building as you locked your door behind you.
“You know whenever someone makes that motion” You called down to Laura as you exited the office “it usually means stop whatever you’re doing”
“oh come on” she laughed brushing you off “they were cute and needed help”
“and I wanted to go home” You grumbled.
“Until your eyes landed on that tall FBI agent” She teased, putting a few things into her bag to follow you out, the two of you being the last two in the office.
“oh shut up” You rolled your eyes, holding the door open for her before locking it behind the two of you.
-
You pulled into the usual parking space the next morning, doing your best to balance all the notes, books, and a cup of coffee you had brought with you in your arms.
Setting the coffee on the roof of your car you reached into the back seat, pulling on your backpack and piling your arm up with folders and notebooks, balancing a stray pencil on top of your ear, reaching for the coffee and bumping the door closed with your hip. Barely paying enough attention to your surroundings to stop yourself from crashing into the large body standing behind you.
You came to a screeching halt, the carefully balanced paperwork in your arms threatening to spill over as you tried to catch your balance.
“Agent” You squeaked in surprise, nodding a hello to him.
“Please call me Sam” He shook his head, instinctively reaching forward to help you “here let me”
Gratefully you unloaded some of the papers onto his open arms, “thanks…Sam”
He smiled down at you at the use of his name, falling into step behind you as you walked back into the office it felt like you had left no more than a few hours ago.
“I’m sorry to say I don’t have any information for you yet” You began, dropping the load in your arms on your desktop, grabbing the work from his arms to do the same with it “I haven’t had the file for long enough yet”
“Oh no rush” He quickly assured you, taking a seat in the same chair as last night, before correcting himself “well some rush, children are disappearing. But that’s not why I’m here”
“Oh?” You asked him, occupying yourself with logging onto the computer and sorting through the work in front of you.
“I just-uh-wanted to see if you needed any help” He stuttered out.
“Surly you have better things to do than babysit me” You chuckled, waving him off “I’m fine”
“This is just our biggest lead so far” He began to explain, almost seeming to not believe his own words as he said them “so I figured I’d make myself useful if possible”
“Well I’d never say no to another pair of eyes” You shrugged, “so you’re more than welcome to stick around but certainly don’t feel like you have to”
“Good” He smiled, shrugging out of his jacket and draping it over the back of his chair making it clear he was planning to stick around “where do we start?”
You chuckled at his eagerness, turning your attention back to your computer “I’m thinking we start by identifying the language used in the song”
“And how do we do that?”
“super technical process” You explained with a half smirk, scrolling to the audio file on your phone “hold the phone speaker up to google translate and hope for the best”
-
You played with a piece of broccoli with your chopsticks, your feet propped up on the edge of your desk as you tried raking your tired brain again of what to do now.
Sam sat across from you in the same chair as he had been in for the past several hours, a takeout container in his hand and tie long since abandoned. You had to admit he perfectly filled the role of hot, passionate, hard-working FBI agent. Button up shirt no tie or suit jacket, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. God could it be distracting sometimes.
“The song sounds like a children’s song of sorts” Sam’s words broke through your thoughts, you shaking your head slightly as you forced yourself to turn your attention back to the case “it follows that classic rhythm almost”
You nodded in agreement “not to mention it’s surrounded by missing children but I haven’t been able to match the song or the lyrics to any old children’s songs”
Sam sighed, shoving another piece of chicken into his mouth.
“Do you know where the children go missing from?”
“Different places” He shrugged, “some unknown some not.” He dug through his pad of paper, listing off a few streets where children were last scene.
You thought for a moment, doing your best to visualize the town in your mind “those are all near bodies of water”
Sam set his takeout container down on the floor and dug through his bag and pulled out a map, spreading it out on your desk and marking off the locations of the last known whereabouts of the children. “I mean somewhat”
“but these are just last known locations right” You explained, “they could’ve wandered closer to bodies of water later, point is they’re all at least within a half a mile of some body of water”
“Alright” He agreed “how does that help us”
“the-uh-“ You sat up quickly, the name on the tip of your tongue, flipping through the book on the desk in front of you quickly, searching for a page you had glossed over before “the Qalupalik”
“The Qualupalik?”
“Yeah” You flipped the book over to Sam, showing him the page “a myth told to Inuit children in the arctic to keep them away from the waters edge. This creature would sing a song to lure children in and once close enough would sink its claws into them and pull them beneath the water.”
“Lovely” Sam groaned, his eyes skimming over the text “and you think this song could be the one on the phone call”
“it could” You nodded “but it’s also known that if the Qalupalik was feeling impatient it would tap its fingers on the ice beneath the child’s feet”
“The knocking sound on the call” Sam finished your thought, jumping up to his feet quickly, excitement growing within him as he thought through it.
“and the crashing could be the thing springing up through the ice” You finished almost proudly.
“That’s brilliant” He laughed, not hesitating before walking around your desk and throwing his arms around you.
You chuckled as he pulled you into his chest, taking a moment before realizing what he had just done before pulling away quickly, awkwardly clearing his throat. “uh sorry”
“no worries” You brushed him off, doing your best to hide your crimson cheeks “hope that helps with your case”
“Oh more than you know” He laughed, slowly stepping back from behind your desk.
“good” You smiled, wrapping your arms around you almost missing the way his felt around you.
“well I should-uh-“ He made a motion to exit, gathering his coat.
“Of course” You nodded “you’ve got a bad guy to catch”
He laughed in response, putting back on his tie “I do”
A silence fell over the two of you as Sam made his way to the door, hesitating as he reached for the knob.
“Hey Sam”
He spun around to face you eagerly, listening intently.
“You still have my number right?”
“I do”
“Good. Don’t be a stranger”
He grinned back at you, shoving his hands into his pockets “I won’t”
You smiled back at him, giving him a small nod as he left your office, neither of you all to happy to see the other leave. But you forced yourself back into work, making yourself busy with cleaning up your desk.
All too soon, however, you heard the familiar sound of Sam clearing his throat, looking up to see the tall man standing awkwardly in your doorway.
“Would you like to get dinner with me tomorrow?” His words came out in a rush, all in one breath, making you giggle.
“I’d love to”
You watched his smile grow at your words, biting his lip to do his best to keep it from getting to big before nodding, at you, turning again to walk down the hallway before he paused again. You watched with a giggle as he gave you a sheepish smile and reached into your office and pulled the door shut behind him.
You all but collapsed in your chair as soon as the door closed, your grin growing bigger and bigger by the second as you thought about your date, spinning around in your chair fighting the urge to scream.
There was a knock at your door drawing you back to reality, forcing you to try and regain your composure, putting on your professional face as you walked over to the door and pulled it open.
You barely had time to process who was standing in front of you before a hand was cupping your cheek and pulling your face up to meet his, your lips crashing for a brief moment before he pulled back much too soon.
You stared up at him in shock, your eyes wide as you stood practically frozen on the spot. He started to open his mouth again, about to say something, before you cut him off, throwing your arms around his neck and pulling him back down to you, meeting him for a much more passionate kiss, the two of you moving in sync, separating only when your lungs started to scream for air.
“Don’t you dare apologize for that”
He chuckled softly as you disconnected yourself from him, not letting you stray too far with his hands on your hips, keeping you pressed against him.
