While I appreciate very much, the fact that you might like what I write in my headcanons/posts or posts in regards to how I see my muses -- I do not want these posts reblogged to your personal pages. Anything I write, headcanons, posts about Rufus relating to my portrayal or threads I write with others, they are our creations which we don’t want you reblogging them. I apologise if this comes off as harsh, but it would appear to be a problem I’m having quite a bit at the minute regardless of the fact it states on my rules do not reblog anything and at the bottom of the headcanon post in particular.

If you like something I have written, don’t reblog it. Instead you can message me and tell me that you liked what I wrote. These headcanons and mini insights are for me, and for those I write with to read and understand my particular view on my muse. 

At least four times this week I have had to ask personal blogs to delete these posts (which they have) but it’s growing a bit tiresome now having to chase it.

𝚁𝙴𝙲𝙸𝙴𝚅𝙴𝙳 𝙼𝙴𝚂𝚂𝙰𝙶𝙴 ( @turkoftheslums​ ) [  Reno returns from the oven and sets a plate down in front of Rufus before sitting down across from the man. Atop the plate rests six small baguettes stuff with ham and cheese; the bread: crunchy, the ham: crispy, and the cheese: melted to perfection. "It's my turn t'cook for ya today, so don't pull a face and just /try/ at least one of 'em."" ]               𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚘𝚖 𝚊𝚜𝚔

            𝙷𝙴 𝙻𝙾𝙾𝙺𝙴𝙳 𝙰𝚃 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙿𝙻𝙰𝚃𝙴 set in front of him , and although told not to -- he couldn’t help but pull a face.    A glorified ham and cheese sandwich?   He thought to himself , poking at one as though half afraid it would grow legs and start dancing.               Well with Reno’s cooking , one just never knew. 

             Rufus picked one up , turning it this way and that way within his hand , examining it -- maybe to see if any stray hairs had ended up finding their way into the thing. He picked at it , pulling it apart , ensuring he had a small piece with a bit of the ham on it and a bit of the cheese. Blue eyes focused on the thing in front of him , it wasn’t what he was used to -- but he knew if he didn’t at least try it , he’d never hear the end of it either.               He popped the bit into his mouth.                                 He chewed on the piece , letting the flavour touch his tongue.              Was that an appreciative noise from his throat?                                 Mm. Mm! Mmmm!                He liked it. Shocked expression on the blonde’s face. 

             “ These are... really good. “ And as though to emphasise his point , he picked up the one he’d practically destroyed and continued eating with no more fuss , no more pulled faces -- just simple murmurs of enjoyment.

Slipping between the crowds of protesters was no easy feat. ShinRa guards and avalanche goers clashed in a wellspring of insults, threats, and shoves. Some even enduring a lethal beating from either side; a sad sight to see, really. It made her heart throb just watching the two parties clamoring and spitting in each other’s faces.

Ears itched and stung as the loud dissatisfied mantra of Rufus’ ascension echoed across the entirety of Midgar. ‘Down with ShinRa. Down with Rufus.’ They chanted, they barked, and yelled earning a somber expression from the barmaid.

What…makes you hate him so? Tifa thinks as she casts a worrisome glance towards the top of Shinra’s tower.

She begins by dipping between crowds and guards alike, keeping her distance from the heavy armored watchmen and timing their patrol pattern. Their blind spots weren’t hard to exploit which made access to the outdoor steps accessible.

…And up she went.

                𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙲𝙰𝙲𝙾𝙿𝙷𝙾𝙽𝚈 𝙲𝙾𝙼𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙵𝚁𝙾𝙼 𝙾𝚄𝚃𝚂𝙸𝙳𝙴 reached him all the way up at the very top of his tower.  More than one suggestion of cleaning the rabble from the streets came to him , all of which he vetoed almost instantly.  Rufus was more than aware that he could send the Soldiers out in brute force and it would be over in a matter of seconds. He was half tempted , if not for the civilians that joined in the fray. He would not cause harm to those who were innocent. He was more than  𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄 that the protestors were within their right , in many ways. Shinra had not made their lives easy in the past few months , specifically those leading up to the death of his father.

                    He could even understand why they would assume he was cut from the same cloth his father was. His public image did nothing to deter this. A sigh fell from his lips as he watched as more and more joined the fray.         𝙲𝙰𝙻𝙻𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙵𝙾𝚁 𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙳𝙴𝙼𝙸𝚂𝙴.      Could he blame them really?             𝙳𝙾𝚆𝙽 𝚆𝙸𝚃𝙷 𝚁𝚄𝙵𝚄𝚂. 𝙳𝙾𝚆𝙽 𝚆𝙸𝚃𝙷 𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙽𝚁𝙰 !   

             The shouts went on and on and on.  Eventually he had to call in his forces , though he made it expressly clear the use of fatal force was  𝐍𝐎𝐓  an option. Protests coming from his directors , but sir ! sometimes the use of lethal force -- No. Had been Rufus’ reply. How would he garner their trust if he was seen to be the same slapdash man his father was. War was easy to rage , declaring it on the people of this city would serve no other purpose than to incite more devastation. Peace was harder to make , harder to hold -- but all around the better option.

                                  “Mr. President. There’s someone here to see you.”

              Rufus turned from the window to find Tseng at his door , a sombre look -- mirroring his own no doubt. A question rising on his lips before he spotted the familiar raven haired fighter behind him. A smile adorned pale and worn features as he stepped towards her , grateful that she had even attempted to make her way to him amidst all of the chaos.                  " 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞? " It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy to see her , in fact it was clear from his expression that he was , in fact , happy to see her.    " 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮? "  he knew the backlash she could face is anyone was to find out.  Tseng excused himself , saying he’s going to tighten the security , shutting the door behind him as he went. Rufus could understand it , if Tifa had managed to slip through the net he wondered if more would. Granted , up here Rufus was much harder to get to , but the safety of his employee’s was vital to him.  " 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 , 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮? "                    As though on cue , the news station flickered to life and he saw the Shinra tower on it and the protesters below. The problem was , if the helicopter came much closer they’d have a perfect view of the inside of the office -- a perfect view of him and Tifa. It was a complication neither needed at that moment in time. He walked forward , taking her shoulders and walking her backwards to the door. Hitting a few buttons on the keypad but keeping one eye on the screen. The shutters began to descend as he chopper circled around -- clearly hoping to get a view of him. It wasn’t until they’d fully closed and the news anchor announced that he was nowhere to be seen , did he step back from her.                       " 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲'𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬. "

Getting into the ShinRa complex was a little too easy, easy enough for it to be a concern. Fair enough Cloud had done this before, but one could possibly figure the president would have upped the ante in regards to the security detail. Not that it really mattered, any ease of access was a bonus even if he did have to scale the buildings fire escapes and many precarious edges to get to his designated window. 

In all honesty, Cloud wasn’t a hundred percent sure exactly what he was looking for, just a room on the very top floor (The presidential suite of course, because breaking into the tower wasn’t risky all in itself…) containing precious floor plans for neighbouring reactors. With the instruction to just grab what he could and “get the hell out of there,” that is exactly what he planned to do. 

The window was easy enough to pop, leading into a bathroom shrouded in darkness, the lights didn’t flicker on until Cloud shimmied his way onto the tiles and made his way into the hall. Cautiously he scans both directions of the walkway from his position in the bathrooms threshold, so far so good. The door he needed to get to was only three rooms left of his current position, the presidents office nestled in the opposite direction. It was late, the perfect time for an infiltration mission, so in his mind Rufus Shinra might not even be on site at such an ungodly hour. Entitled pretty boys needed their beauty sleep after all, right?

           𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙷𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝚆𝙰𝚂 𝙻𝙰𝚃𝙴   and most people had gone home for the day , leaving but a select few employee’s left in the building -- including himself.  If he had known what the  𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 had in store for him , he’d have probably gone home hours ago himself. Yet he had not , he sat behind his desk pouring over the mass emails that had come through -- adding his signature to documents and generally giving himself a headache at the sheer stupidity of some of his employees. 

              An alarm rang loud in his ears , causing him to wince for a moment.     𝐿𝑂𝐶𝐾𝐷𝑂𝑊𝑁 𝐼𝑀𝑀𝐼𝑁𝐸𝑁𝑇.   Rufus groaned , what had gone on now?  He checked the security cameras but saw nothing of note ; other than people exiting the building in double quick time.   𝐿𝑂𝐶𝐾𝐷𝑂𝑊𝑁 𝐼𝑀𝑀𝐼𝑁𝐸𝑁𝑇.  Yes , yes I can hear you.  He thought to himself as the lights dimmed out and the building was left in a reddish hue.  He kept scrolling through the camera feed , making sure all of his employees were out safely , if there was something in the building -- he’d rather know his employee’s were safe. 

                   𝐿𝑂𝐶𝐾𝐷𝑂𝑊𝑁 𝐼𝑁𝐼𝑇𝐼𝐴𝑇𝐼𝑁𝐺.

                   Rufus glanced up from his desk , watching as thick metal shutters came down over the windows. Looks like you’re not leaving either. He thought to himself. 

                    𝐴𝐿𝐿 𝐷𝑂𝑂𝑅𝑆 𝑊𝐼𝐿𝐿 𝐵𝐸 𝐿𝑂𝐶𝐾𝐸𝐷 , 𝐸𝐿𝐸𝐶𝑇𝑅𝑂𝑁𝐼𝐶 𝐹𝑈𝑁𝐶𝑇𝐼𝑂𝑁𝑆 𝑊𝐼𝐿𝐿 𝐵𝐸 𝑈𝑁𝐴𝑉𝐴𝐼𝐿𝐴𝐵𝐿𝐸.

                     Well , shit. It was rare Rufus swore , even in thought. He picked up his weapon and pushed it into his coat before making his way to the door of his office and throwing it wide. In hindsight , he was probably safer in his office than anywhere else in the building right now , but he wouldn’t rest until he figured out what had triggered off the highest mode of his security system. He hoped it was a simple matter of a malfunction -- yet he had a feeling settling into the pit of his stomach that wasn’t so.

                       As he rounded the corner , he came face to face with the person he should have suspected was behind all of this. A roll of his eyes and a sigh left his throat --  " 𝐈 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧. " The President’s voice wasn’t cold , merely bored -- the door he was aiming for , one that would have led him out of here slammed shut.  " 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞?        𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐍 to hers , a grimace set upon his lips as he took a step away from her.    “ hmph. “   a small shrug of his shoulders , barely there -- barely noticeable if she wasn’t paying attention.             “ well , if you do not feel it is   𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭   for you , “  his voice like stone , “ then what are you still doing here ? “              His tone perhaps sharper than it should have been , but it mirrored the uncertainty within himself. That small bit of himself that would continue to remind him that he was different.
