Deserter - Lyrical Explanation:

Deserter as a whole is about leaving someone behind and the emotions that come from such an action. It also (along with all the others) is an extremely personal track on the EP and although I wrote it in the studio with little preparation it came out as a strong favourite of mine not only lyrically but musically. The song idea came from fairly recent events at the time and therefore came naturally in the writing process. The song covers numerous topics such as guilt, addiction, lies, selfishness and the running theme of the human body being described as a desolate and cold place.  It also discusses not being able to convey feelings in the way you intend. I tried to make this reasonably obvious in the line "with my heart in my throat I'm screaming out to you" leading into the chorus, where there is a sense of hope and wonder trying to get the person you love and care about back to where they belong. I really tried to leave this one open to interpretation with the use of broad imagery and I feel it can relate to many other situations that life likes to throw at you. - Michael Brunt

Trash's 6 Year Anniversary / Trash / July 13th 2013

Introducing our new band members Justin Dengate and Corey Walker. Justin will be taking care of all lead vocals and Corey will be playing guitar for us. These two have already shown us they will be an improvement to our band, both in songwriting and live performance. We've been working on new songs and we're really excited to get some new sounds out as soon as possible. Catch us with our new members on June 24th with Averia Skies at Yours & Owls and July 6th with Prepared Like A Bride at the Towradgi Surf Club.

Wasteland - Lyrical Explanation:

Wasteland is the only song on the EP that discusses emotions such as hate for another person. Anyone that knows me personally will know who it is written about, as the title is very direct and doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination. I tried to create imagery through this song to portray how destructive someone who is blinded by their own ego can be in any relationship. "Welcome To Wasteland" attacks the antagonist's ego directly, while the verse screamed by Luke Holmes (Ocean Grove) solidifies the "apocalyptic" atmosphere that lying and cheating causes.
