I think this is cute, except having children I know that the “inner child” would definitely be punching each other senseless

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.
Aristotle (via beinchargeofyourlife)
The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.

Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture the heart.

Grammar Time-travel Hurts
So I’m reading an article on time-travel thinking, “Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, seems reasonable.” Then I come across this:
“’Deutsch's theory has a weird effect of destroying correlations,’ Lloyd says. ‘That is, a time traveler who emerges from a Deutschian CTC enters a universe that has nothing to do with the one she exited in the future.’”
And the past tense verb with the future noun, while scientifically and grammatically correct, bothers me more than the actual possibility of time-travel.

Interesting article and study on how different personality traits lead to a fulfilling life
2016 wasn’t all bad as Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield explains. Humanity did some good this year.
Thomas Pesquet:
The entire crew of the 50th expedition to the International Space Station wishes you a happy 2017! We had the opportunity to celebrate the New Year on three different time zones up here (Russia, France and the United States) because a few countries decided some years ago they believed in a certain idea of the future. They thought science, technology, peaceful exploration and above all international cooperation would contribute to make the world a better place. They thought aiming for a challenging goal would only bring the best for their citizens. They were right, and here we are, playing our little part.
Every New Year comes with challenges, and yes, some are daunting: curb climate change, better share resources worldwide, give all kids the education they deserve, empower women everywhere. To make progress, we need everyone to contribute: we try to do our share everyday on the Space Station to the best of our abilities. What will you do in 2017?
