I’ll set them on one another like starving rats in a cage. Margot Robbie as Annie in Terminal (2018)
HIS EX.
JOSIE STILL SEEMED TO BELIEVE SHE CARED. hugo always held a special place in her life. one of her most favorite partners in crime throughout history. but he was just like the rest. he was weak when it came to certain women. she had sworn long ago never to succumb to that same kind of weakness or to fail to exploit it from others. the woman before her was overflowing with it. and freya didn’t care much for her incorrect deductions. she felt underestimated in her ability to not care and to have fun exploiting. she was being brought down to this ‘inferior’ creature’s level and it begun to bother her. she was both equally entertained and annoyed by josie but didn’t feel the need to do much except watch the way she unraveled. but when the cross came out and she felt it’s holy energy draw near her skin, the demoness faltered. her smirk was replaced with a dangerous glare. then it touched her and burned agonizingly so as evident by the way she stiffened. the skin on her hand disappeared as a tough, dark exterior took it’s place with elongated nails ; hellish claws.
a smirk graced the blonde’s expression at the same time that she tried to ignore the terrible burn to grab josie by the throat with said claw. using supernatural strength, she threw the vampiress across the street. in very quick succession she also teleported to the same area and roughly kicked the cross from her grip using whatever strength she had to with the vampire before she could do much to stop her. it burned her foot but the pain was worth every second. freya was practiced after centuries of dealing with all sorts of creatures.
if josie so much as flinched, she would teleport another foot away to evade her as she spoke. but for that first second she just stood down there grinning down hellishly. ❛ ooooh, im not surprised he had a moment of weakness and decided to tie the knot so long ago, but that’s over with sweet heart. there have been many women he’s wanted to devote himself to until he finally relented from all the past pain with you. well ! at least for the moment it lasted. he may certainly love you but you will never be enough to fully satisfy him. ❜ the blonde moved closer. ❛ you’re kindred spirits of violence and lust, nothing more. im sure he learned that or he would have gave himself only to you by now. so accept that, darling, you’re embarrassing yourself with your lack of dignity. ❜ tone was stern and disapproving. mocking? that was up to the listener to judge.
but this was fun. it felt good to throw poisonous words at the vampire. though she hadn’t intended to go so far so early in the game. unfortunately, things escalated the moment she saw the cross. she was ruthless with threats. the only reason she did not attempt to take a branch and shove it between the vampire’s ribs was for her friend. freya would never admit it but she was hesitant to truly upset hugo. tease him? scare him? teach him a painful lesson on emotions? perhaps. but he was not there in the moment so there was no point. not when she couldn’t see the reaction on his face. and she still had to say hello after carreau caught her up on his doings… she would go do so now otherwise she was afraid she’d end this game with josie too soon and not in the way she really wanted to.
When the claws came out, Josie couldn’t help but watch in sadistic delight. As much as she adored demons, she also adored how easy their weakness seemed to disable them without actually killing them. A neat trick, she thought, and although she only used her cross for emergencies (or keeping certain demons in line), she felt this was warranted considering how high and mighty Freya was presenting herself. A threat matched with a threat.
However, it was only an instant before that same claw was making Josie gasp for breath before she hit the brick of a building, concrete and mortar tumbling onto her back. At least she had been able to hold onto the cross, but soon, that too was gone. Clearly, she had a little more practice than Hugo at this sort of thing, but then again, she had watched the power of Christ compel him to grab it with his bare hands from her. Josie narrowed her eyes and glared up at Freya, not having lost her fight from all those years. Taking out a switchblade instead from her holster, she waited for the inevitable fight, only to be met with more of Freya’s taunts.
At Freya’s words, Josie felt herself for a loss. Her jaw ground, tightening as she tried not to look like Freya was right. But she was. She, alone, could never satisfy Hugo. It wasn’t as if Hugo alone satisfied her, though. Josie had always preferred women over men, and all her partners had been cued into the deal that they’d have to deal with Josie going off on her own to get her fix or they could join in with her. Hugo had chosen to join in, but the both of them over the years had bitter fights over the lovers of one another. Adalene had been a sore spot of contention for Hugo after it was revealed Josie had seen her every night for a week after their fling, and Hugo’s most recent Little Mermaid experiment had been for Josie. In a way, it was just how they operated. In another, Freya’s words were the stinging truth.
Instead of answering, Josie took the blade with super speed, slitting deeply at Freya’s throat. She’d recover in a few minutes, maybe even less, looking as if the event never happened, but an eye for an eye was in order. Josie shoved her, “I’d love to know how you know anything about what Hugo and I have. You have never even met me before tonight, and you knew him, what? Hundreds? Thousands of years ago? You have no idea who he is or what I am, or what we are together. So you can either fuck off and leave us alone or you’re going to learn that I can get Hugo to forget about your century together right before he rips your heart out himself.” Backing away to signal she was done here, she licked the blade down before putting it back in it’s sheath.

HIS EX.
THE SHOCK PALPABLE ON JOSIE’S FACE. it made her grin twist higher. this was very, very fun indeed. clearly there were feelings involved. now she had found one weakness. nothing in the world was more dangerous and more destructive than love. was it one sided? oh, not likely. she’d witnessed first hand how much demons could feel despite how very rare it was for their species to make those connections. the vampire before her was not unlike freya in some aspects and this made it so much easier to believe her suspicions. hugo had a type. that fact also bored her a little but she’d find a way to make it more interesting.
shoulders raised, grin remain high. ❛ okay ! ❜ she chimed. the blonde disappeared and just a second later was to be found right behind josie with another laugh. ❛ oh, darling… you’re absolutely precious. but you might want to get that jealously under control before you start turning green. ❜
❛ anyway, you’re wasting your time and energy worrying ! ❜ she looked back to her with a devilish smirk. ❛ i told you ! i really don’t want him back and he certainly will not need me now that he has other play things. in fact, i would just leave him to his life and start living yours. this little thing could only last so long. a decade is only like a year to us. a century? a decade. so on so forth. most of you silly little vampires never last that as long as us even if we don’t get tired of you before it happens. it’s not worth it ! we move on ! i would have you move on now as he inevitably must later. i’ve lived over 3 millennium, trust me on this, sweet heart. you’re wasting your time acting like forever is in the cards. it never is. ❜
When she replied, perky as ever, Josie’s brows furrowed deep into a confused frown before she watched her teleport behind her. Swirling immediately to face her, eyes narrowed and fangs extending down, she didn’t hesitate to open her bag now and grab at the porcelain cross inside. She didn’t like Freya, not any part of her and how she seemed to think she was going to hold power of Hugo and Josie alike.
Eyes watching with deep resentment and anger as she flipped her hair and acted casually, as if this was all some silly game. Were all the women he had been with like this? Was she like this? Breathing out heavy and strained from her nose, she finally took a step forward so that she was only an inch away from the blonde. Freya had slipped up too, though, now and Josie wondered if she knew it at all -- jealousy. Despite what she claimed, it seemed pretty obvious to Josie that no woman who wasn’t interested in her ex still did something like this, and cracking a similar smirk, she brought out the cross so that it hovered only an inch from Freya’s hips, certainly an unpleasant feeling.
“You’re really pissing me the hell off, but at least I can see now he has a type now -- possessive.” Josie shrugged, “I don’t much think green is your color either, sweetheart, or else you would have left me alone by now. If you wanna play it like that then, well....I’m sure I can find a spot for you on my bride’s maids list. I know Hugo would always want such a dear, old friend to see him get married.” Pressing the cross into her then, she sneered, “Is that good enough fun for you, then?”

WHO TF.
HOW EXCITING. it really was josie langdon. she could see the appeal that she’d have on hugo. her attitude had merit. there was nothing subtle in the way she presented herself. not to mention she was quite the stunning creature. vampire, she would guess. or werewolf. both were more likely then the rest, as it was rare one would so easily catch her scent the way this woman had just by standing somewhat near. nothing else but her own words could tell her true origins.
❛ freya whitmore, ❜ she introduced herself. she extended her hand, offering to take the woman’s for a polite shake. delicate fingers bared long nails, elegantly painted with a subtle transparent shine and a single white line at each end. flawless. just like the subtle makeup around her eyes. only her lips stood out ; they were red like roses. ❛ i can see why he would decide to keep you around… ❜ she said, smirk twisting higher and reaching her eyes.
At the introduction and extension of her hand, Josie only glanced down, not extending her own. Instead she simply stared at it for a moment, noting the pristine nature of her manicure similar to Josie’s, only hers were night black and sharp as knives tonight, before her eyes drifted back to Freya’s. Whoever this woman was, no such pleasantries would be exchanged until Josie knew the full ramification of whatever it is she was looking for. Within moments, her question was answered.
Raising a brow and chuckling then, she realized what this was about. Taking a cigarette from her pocket, she began speaking, “Oh, so you’re one of Hugo’s mistresses, huh?” and lighting it to take a drag. Blowing it back in her face carelessly, she shrugged, “I can see what he saw in you. Honestly, I see it myself...” Josie’s eyes swept Freya’s figure hungrily before she finally met the blue eyes once more. They reminded her of Hugo, to be honest, but she wasn’t going to let her know that. “But, he’s done with you and whatever you had. Sorry. He gets his dick sucked from enough fairies and mermaids to fill every tree and ocean in the world, along with what you see before you. You need me to shove a cross in your throat or are you gonna get the picture, sweetheart?”
??
FAMILIAR. that was her first thought after the woman finished speaking. after a very eventful night in his bed, she’d questioned a drunk carreau on everything he knew about the town. as soon as she found out about hugo’s presense suddenly nothing mattered in that moment but to find out exactly what her old lover was doing. she knew him. she knew him very well. and she knew if he was in the town that meant he was doing business for someone. carreau seemed to describe hugo as his own, but something made freya very much doubt that. hugo hated men like carreau.
so she questioned and questioned, finding out as much about her dear, old hugo as she could. and one thing that kept carreau talking for a while was a woman named josie ; a woman always stuck at hugo’s side. now that… sounded like hugo. and this woman before her fit the description perfectly.
the blonde straightened her posture and dropped false pretense. the demure smile on her face twisted into a devilish smirk. there was a twinkle of mischief in her eyes now as she got up. newspaper lay abandoned on the bench. freya’s sights moved between the woman, the bike and then back to her. blue eyes scanned the new intriguing specimen from head to toe. ❛ you wouldn’t happen to be… ms. josie langdon. would you ?❜
There was no question about it that whoever this woman was, her eyes glittered with the deaths of men and her smirk suggested she was ready for more of it. Josie felt excitement rise in the bottom of her stomach and travel upwards, her eyes never leaving the blonde as she came closer. Her chin rose up only slightly, as if to mimic the powerful way this woman obviously carried herself. She was ready for whoever this was to say something suggestive back, and then when she did speak, Josie found herself a little taken aback.
The flirtation disappearing from her face, Josie’s eyebrow ticked up, suspicious and eyeing her. Taking in and committing her figure to memory for later, her head tilted, “Whose asking?” She then wondered what sort of rumors were swirling about her, and how strong they must have been for someone to openly confront her.
