âPlease donât I am fragile.â he said in a small voice, a pout visible on his features. He couldnât recall a time he felt this careless, it were moments like this that only seemed to occur around Beth. âFor how long have you known me now loser? You know I wonât.â his tone sounded different than usual,  a whole lot less sarcastic and a lot more genuine. He was used to people telling him to do the exact opposite so hearing Beth tell him he should stay the exact same was a pretty great feeling. While Asher was one of the least touchy people on the plnaet he had to admit that the feeling of Bethâs hand caressing his face, no matter how briefly, felt nice. âWe should, it has been entirely too long. So tell me, whatâs the plan?â
Bethany released a bark of laughter at the idea of Asher being fragile, but mere seconds after it pierced the air, it quieted. What if he was fragile? She herself tried to make everyone believe that she was strong and well put together, when really, she was constantly afraid and broken. âYou better not,â she half-whispered, a sweet, loving smile tugging on her lips. âYouâre the best damn person in my life, shitty attitude and all.â Caught up in the moment, Bethany felt herself leaning forward in the hopes of placing a chaste kiss upon her best friendâs cheek. Yet just after moving barely centimeters closer, she pulled back and a bright pink washed over her face. âUh, well,â she stammered, slightly flustered, âwhat would you like to do, Ash? Iâm down for pretty much anything sâlong as youâre involved.â
