did it simply fail to occur to the writers that daniel saying racist shit to louis and armand simply does not land the same when louis and armand are no longer the main characters who have considerably more power than him in their dynamic rather than demoted side characters with him somehow having more screentime than either of them. like maybe you should be framing that differently if you plan to keep that element up.

to be perfectly clear i dont think they ever did a very good job of this but theres a difference between poor/inconsistent use of the narrative device in seasons 1 & 2 and making your show actively unwatchable with your only saving grace being the fact that youve left the door open for your audience to always go "well you didnt REALLY mean that... right...? i mean I can't really criticize until we know whats really happening later... it will make sense later..." at any and all times. theres an incredibly fine line between unreliable narration being an interesting device and a cowardly one. these writers have crossed that line a few too many times for me. its tiresome

yuki cross is the protagonist and heroine of hit 2000s trashy vampire romance manga vampire knight infamous for (1) being embroiled in a twilight-esque love triangle with her self-loathing vampire hunter vampire love interest (raised in the same house, technically her brother) and her uber posh other vampire love interest (revealed to be her brother/ancestor because reincarnation or whatever) that resolves with her getting with and having children with both of them and (2) being boring as hell. weirdly enough lestat is also doing both things :|
