unless it has to do with literal proximity to the ocean or the superiority complexes people who identify with the term possess i really do not think any cultural phenomenon anyone has ever described as "coastal" in a US context has ever meant like anything that spending any time outside those areas would not instantly disprove
the peter dinklage oz s4 jumpscare where u only see his face for a sec and youre like was that..?? surely not.. and run to imdb.

i was about to ask what was going on in bd wongs professional life during season 4b that father mukada was gone so much bc i missed him when i realized i actually did know what was going on with him bc this was the season of my birth year and i know that his son is the same age as me hkfkfhhkf which i know because em and i thought it was really iconic and funny that he had a gay son with 4 gay fathers. made more memorable by the fact that he and i are the same age.
u know i sometimes really wonder how much of chris kellers drama was just the elliot stabler effect. like would he have had on-screen lull periods and more petty plotlines if christopher meloni's professional obligations to dick wolf's law & order special victims unit were not such that he could not physically be present on screen full time so keller was always doing something insane and fucking off again getting stabbed shot transferred but they critically would not let him die until the very end so they just kept coming up with more crazy things like this instead of (1) actually fully writing him off the show, or (2) diminishing his importance. so instead u get these crazy ass plots and then the rest of the time him weirdly hanging over the show for no reason when hes not even there and he did not need to be that important but tom fontana was like christopher keller IS in this relationship like ok man god. if u say so. not a moment's peace
Anna Archive was a goddess of knowledge worshipped in the early 21st century[1][2]. Cultists of Anna would frequently move the shrines dedicated to her from place to place in great secrecy[1][3], requiring worshippers to possess secret information in order to access the far greater knowledge provided by worship, possibly as a form of sacrifice[Original research?]. Worship of Anna is associated with the increased enforcement of intellectual property rights at the time[1][4], as well as greater inaccessibility of academic materials due to the late-imperial academic crisis[5][6][Failed verification.]. It has been suggested[By whom?] that the name Anna Archive may be the origin of the word archive, referring to a repository of information[7].
i did chuckle.
frisk jumpscare on the dash .
feeling evil and then remembering i still have the spiced cashews candied with saffron infused syrup that i made yesterday and sometimes life is not so ugly after all
actually confession time the scariest thing about my oz rewatch is that the other day i saw a gifset of that true blood s6e10 scene where eric is season 7 gay sex dream foreshadowing to jason while hes laying there dying in the vampire prison and over erics shoulder was the all caps gen pop stenciled signage over the doorway and i had the horrifying realization that for the first time ever i kind of had the urge to rewatch season 6 to make commentary on its relationship with the form of the prison drama which to clarify i have never rewatched any part of s6 and it is in my professional opinion one of the worst seasons of television ever made and i mean that in a fully derogatory manner. so this is a heavy statement.
something i will say for this week god WAS looking out for me timing my place in my oz rewatch that it coincided with getting to s4 cause settling down tonight to finish s4e12 literally had me laughing out loud an hour after a hysterical breakdown Never forget BAD TV HEALS
realizations hitting that keller sacrificing himself for beecher primarily reading to me as just a really funny melodramatic plot point was in fact quite possibly tom fontanas idea of the most serious possible way to make a statement affirming the humanity of the homosexual like keller getting emotionally and spiritually redeemed by sacrificing himself for love... even if it was for another man 🫣😌✝️ love is love everyone we can all go home now
really crying reflecting on em saying this last week cause like the heaven line is so silly of course it sticks but i/we had forgotten enough of the actual context that this seemed perfectly plausible as the point being that he was just saying shit to be crazy but no i really forgot that his season 4 arc was honest to god genuinely that he gets shot at the start of the season -> goes to hell when he dies briefly on the operating table -> comes back and has a moral crisis about it -> has tense encounters with the catholic clergy seeking absolution they wont give him -> all in combination w the reveal of his serial killer history -> he does one selfless thing for the first time in his life -> the nun is like chris this is it you were saying god had never chosen you before but this is the proof that its never too late hes finally chosen you now and he's like instantly changed by this with new zest for life -> tells beecher they will reunite in heaven
i just really enjoy when oz gets so catholic even i notice because thats a true sign of how severe it is. the heavy hitter of reverand cloutier and father mukada meeting for the first time and having their cat fight for christ kicking off the plot about evil evangelicals trying to destroy the good and pure catholic clergy of oz AND in the same episode the climax of kellers s4 plot being revealed through a conversation with sister pete where she tells him god has finally chosen him and hes like tearing up visibly moved wow thats so true and immediately turns around and is like toby we're going to heaven and i genuinely think we are supposed to read this all dead seriously and its supposed to resonate emotionally with viewers
anyways the last post was inspired by the very serious matter of laughing again about how deeply catholic oz is and i wonder sometimes how much else i am missing
