Two Door Cinema Club ✖ What You Know
In a few weeks I will get time To realise it’s right before my eyes And I can take it if it’s what I want to do
“Cool. I’ll definitely watch you try and learn how to show jump with the horse because there’s bound to be something hilarious happening there.” Ainslee smirked, giggling. “Gerbils? I think we can handle that. Can we get a giant fish tank because that’ll be really cool to look at. Not so much to take care of but to look at.” Ainslee rambled on about that for a quick minute, before smiling slightly. Really, their house would be great and it would be really nice and they’d be the talk of everything everywhere. It was an amazing kind of fantasy to think about, despite the fact it wasn’t likely. But, hey, you never know. From everything that was going on, even if they didn’t end up with a giant house of animals, maybe they’d end up with a house. Despite everything, that looked like it could be a nice future. Ainslee had really been travelling for years now, since she was playing piano and now she was home in the place she hadn’t been in a long time. She wanted to stay in one place for a while, so here she came. To be her own person. Giggling, Ainslee listened to what Andrew was saying. “Well now that sounds great. I mean, you’ll be rich. I’ll be famous. So long as you treat me to a really nice dinner with all that money you get from my biography and spinoff movie.” she smiled at him. Though, she could keep talking to him for as long as she could imagine, Ainslee was content to keep kissing him then.
“You trust me so much, I feel so loved right now,” he pouted, laughing at the images she had put in his mind of him falling off the horse and probably being trampled straight after.” Grinning at her, he shrugged, “Sure, we can have a giant fish tank but we need to hire a cleaner, no way am I the one looking after all these animals.” As much as he loved spending time with animals, cuddling them and loving them, he hated the idea of having to do the hard work around them. He chuckled at her words though, “You won’t even have to wait for when we’re rich – I’ll take you to dinner right now. Well, not right now, right now I’m happy to have you here.” Smiling, he kissed her back happy to have her here. Slowly, she was making him feel pleased to be home even when he had sometimes regretted.
“Oh, so it makes you instantly not hot anymore.”
“Obviously, all straight guys are ugly if you didn’t already know.”
“Nice to meet you Andrew, you can totally still call me ‘kid’ if you want.”
“Okay then. So what do you do, kid?”
“Oh don’t even worry about it, you wouldn’t be able to help me even if you knew all the songs in the world.”
“Hey, that sounds like you’re insulting me and yourself here, missy.”
“With how often they’re played, It’d be a shocker if you didn’t know at least one of them.”
“That made me feel slightly better. Thanks, man.”
“Big and bulky? Doesn’t sound like too much of a big deal. Who bought those kind of things, though, if you couldn’t carry enough songs? Too many questions, isn’t it? That’s all I seem to do, ask questions y’know, I’m sorry. I’ve heard just a few songs so I can’t really tell if it’s shit or not, only know I liked one or two but don’t really know the names.”
“Well, you could carry lots of songs by the standards of the day but it’s not a huge amount compared to how much you can store now. I don’t listen to much modern music so I can’t help you, sorry.”
“Pleasure’s mine. You’re hot.”
“I’m also straight.”
“Thank you so much, means a lot.My nanny was your typical teenage girl!”
“Wow, does that mean you’re calling me a typical teenage girl?”
“I wish I could say the same, but I found myself singing along to a One Direction song the other day.”
“I would never admit to knowing the words to some of their singles but I probably do to at least a couple of the songs.”
“How can you not like All Time Low? Are you more of a Lady Gaga-Miley Cyrus type?”
“Yeah, trust me, I don’t like them either.”
“All of our animals?” Ainslee tilted her head to the side with a light smile. “But, are we talking just dogs and cats cause maybe I want a rabbit–oh or a nice horse or two.” she chuckled, lightly. Almost imagining that kind of a future though, despite knowing the likelyhood of it being very low. Still, it came out to be a nice picture, didn’t it? They’d have a nice big house, comfortable though, and animals roaming the place. While it wasn’t among one of the more promising futures, it was still a nice vision. “I’ll be sure to think about that. Though, it might take a while to woo me into spilling my deep dark secrets. Think you can handle that?” Ainslee smirked, raising an eyebrow at Andrew. Ainslee watched Andrew’s reaction and smiled at the promise to keep himself as is and not turn into some sort of awful politician. Glad that he wanted to stay who he was and not drastically change for politics. Ainslee smiled when he kissed her once again, resting her forehead against his with a bright smile–the kind that most definitely made her eyes twinkle. “Good to know.”
“We are so getting a horse, I always wanted to learn how to show jump and now is my opportunity – all with movie royalties. We’ll be billionaires and it’ll be a lovely world of all the animals you could ever want. Speaking of which, I want gerbils.” Grinning at her, he was pleased that she seemed to be opening up to him and this stupid fantasy world they were creating. Whilst it might not have any bearing on the sort of future open to them, it was the first time since he had come home that Andrew had really dreamt about things that would never happen. His whole life had been work-oriented and, as much as he loved that, there were times that he needed to escape the real world. “Trust me, I’ll woo you for as long as necessary. I’m going to write your biography and then there can be a spinoff movie based off that. You’ll make me rich.” His eyes twinkled though and it was obvious he was joking, if he stuck around Ainslee it was purely because he wanted to be around her, not because he had anything to gain from such a venture. Meanwhile, however, he was content to keep pressed against her, his lips moulded against hers in a way that was distinctly foreign but also normal – he didn’t want to move for the world.
“Please oh please, for the love of Christ or any greater being you may worship just give me some slack. I’ve had a long day and god I don’t understand why people are so annoying. All I hear all day is people’s personal problems and you know what they all revolve around? ——Females, seriously I’ve been single for nearly a decade now and I couldn’t be more content with life. Well excluding tonight.”
“Chill, man, I wasn’t going to talk about girls.”
“Okay so I know you don’t like them because they sound ‘too pop-ish’ for you -whatever that mean, but I got tickets to see All Time Low and you have to go with me. If you don’t you are the worst because I saw that crappy band that you are obsessed with…I can’t even remember their name but they suck.”
“I feel as if you’ve got the wrong person but I still don’t like All Time Low.”
“I’m always here to help someone out with music. I mean, you could listen to my stuff if I had anything out.”
“How generous of you.”
“Did you really? I started lessons when I was four. My parents made me, obviously and I didn’t appreciate it until I was in high school. I still play on occasion. –I’m Liv, by the way.”
“I’m Andrew, and I haven’t touched the piano in years so you’re doing better than me already.”
“Well hey, don’t worry about it! They hate me now so, I’m okay with not seeing them when I was a child. I was quite the diverse, child. No, kidding! My nanny was really young, like nineteen, and would always listen to boy bands and they were my favorite. On the other hand, I preferred Hymns.”
“They sound like terrible parents and I’m sorry you had to put up with that. I think I’m going to side with your nanny if those are the musical choices.”
