Wieden + Kennedy is another agency that would be great agency to work at. I love how global it is--they have offices in Portland, New York, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, Delhi, Amsterdam, and Sao Paulo. They also have a large client list such as Old Spice, Levis, P&G, Target, Nike, Converse, and etc.

They did a great Back to School campaign for Target- they has a series of commercials with certain characters that we would recognize, such as the music teacher and the coach, who reminded us what supplies we needed before we headed back to school.

Droga 5 seems like a pretty interesting agency to work with. I loved the campaign they did to help launch Jay-Z's book Decode, where they placed one page at a time from the book on billboards, bottom of swimming pools, and etc. It was a good way to interact with fans because fans were able to track down new pages using Bing maps and clues left within Bing search engines and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. This gave Bing search good publicity as well as Jay-Z's book.

Their UNICEF TAP Water project was also a strong campaign that I liked as well-- informing people about how there are many parts of the world where families still do not have access to clean water.

They have other remarkable clients as well such as Coca Cola, PUMA, Vitamin Water, Microsoft, and etc.

Halloween Ads

Halloween Ad #1: Miller Lite dresses its product up as Dracula, making this advertisement very Halloween appropriate. The advertisement kind of makes Miller Lite appear as a superhero because of the colors and how they positioned the product. It makes Miller Lite appear supreme because to them their taste is supreme hence the "sink you fangs into great taste" slogan.

Halloween Ad #2: At first I did not understand what was so special about this ad, but upon closer inspection I realized that this skeleton was made out of wrenches. Hmm craftsmen targeting men on Halloween to buy some wrenches?

"There's a craftsmen in all of us"- It is like saying that Halloween is a time for people to dress up as whatever or whoever they want, so the ad is almost communicating to men, why not on this Halloween you buy some tools and be a craftsmen.

Halloween Ad #3: I thought that this was a really cute advertisement. On Halloween you usually see people dressed up as the M&Ms characters, so in a way I felt that this advertisement was emulating those people. At the same time, the M&Ms being each other for Halloween makes this advertisement even more memorable.

Guerilla Stunt #3: Gusta is a website for people to find and book unique dining events around the world. Headquarted in New York, they decided that in order to spread awareness of their new service, they need to take it to the streets of New York City with a fun guerrilla marketing campaign.

They handmade personal dinner invitations and left them throughout New York City to market a website that promotes real world events. The invitations were specifically placed in areas of New York where more people are willing to open up random envelopes, which included The East Village, Lower East Side, Washington Square Park, Williamsburg and DUMBO.

The invitation had details left out intentionally so that people who found the invitation would have to visit the Gusta website in order to “fill in the blanks.” After the invited were put out, Gusta experienced a lot of signups.

I can't wait to go home and try the Gusta experience as well!

Guerilla Stunt #2: People love free stuff and I think this guerilla stunt by Volkswagen Canada made getting free stuff fun. To celebrate the turbocharged 2012 Jetta GLI, beginning in October, pop-up “Performance Art” galleries appeared in major cities across Canada and the fun part about it is that it is up for grabs. So people can just "steal" the limited edition, hand-numbered photographs created by the 200-horsepower Jetta GLI because they are left unsecured in certain designated areas. Thieves are asked to share the artwork they claimed by posting pictures of the artwork hanging at home or at work on Volkswagen Canada’s Facebook page.

Where can the rest of the people who didn't claim an artwork get theirs? There are actually clues of where people can grab it at twitter.com/vwcanada and facebook.com/volkswagencanada for clues. It sounds like it has turned into a game!

One youtuber said "I drove an hour to get downtown and raced an old lady in a beetle... didn't find any tho :( I'm going to try again tomorrow!"

Guerilla Stunt#1: This ad is like Matrix meets Inception in Madrid. This amazing ad was done by Onionlab for the 15th anniversary of the architecture studio A-cero. The ad is called "A-cero XV Aniversario", which is a 3D mapping projection. The first few minutes review the works done by A-cero in its 15 year history. Finally, Onionlab presents a personal vision of the architecture of the future. It's really cool how they were able to utilize light and technology to tell a story and if I was one of the members in the audience I would have felt like I was literally there where the architecture is.

This is pretty cool. A variety of bugs were used to power a miniature circus that helps charge a phone in Qualcomm's "The Bug Circus Generator" ad. It is fun, simple, and memorable.

This is a video of people interacting with Evian water's Dancing Baby Ad. I think this is a great campaign. I thought it was brilliant how they placed it at bus stops, especially in the city where there are always high volume of commuters. This gives them something to do while waiting for the bus.

When the person presses the screen, it allows the baby body to start dancing. Then there is also a QR code on the digital billboard giving consumers an opportunity to further engage with the campaign through the evian mobile website.

Spent the whole weekend at Values Academy, the Northeast Greek Conference here at SU. It was pretty empowering as a member of the Greek community.

Apologies to those who actually like this campaign. But I hate it. Kudos to Kia Motors America for being able to attract over 6.5 million views on Youtube though. It is weird seeing hamsters rap and doing the shuffle in order to promote a car. I admit having hamsters for this campaign like having a lizard for Geico does help people remember the brand, but there must be some other way to promote Kia Motors. Adding human characteristics to animals, who look like they are on steroids (because they are abnormally huge) just does not seem right. Since this commercial was presented first at MTV Video Music Awards, maybe Kia Motors could have used a celebrity like LMFAO doing the shuffle in their commercials to endorse their product. Please no more hamsters.

I love how they use Mord Fustang's A New World and nine-year old UK Streetdance phenomenon Arizona Snow to be part of this ad. It was nicely done and not to mention bringing in dancing bears definitely adds a lot of cuteness to this advertisement. However, it does seem like all that dancing may detract the real reason why the viewers should be watching this ad. It does not seem much of a cereal ad but I mean if I can dance like that after eating Weetabix, I want some!

This video can give you a sentimental feeling. It is common for parents to be so caught up with their work that they do not have time for their children. This sweet video provides a reminder to parents to make time for their kids no matter how busy they may be and to share that family time at McDonalds.

FedEx: Package#83. "Take the drama out of delivery". I love the humor in this video. It reminds me of the movies/dramas I have watched in the past where guys in gangs do not know when to soften up (or well i guess they can't) because they have been in the business for too long, so they take everything so seriously. At the end of the ad, it seemed like the guy was questioning the credibility of FedEx's Express delivery and the fedex guy was so nonchalant since he knows FedEx can get any business done quick, which is the funny part.

Ads that Use Only Words

This ad exemplifies the creative technique "play with words" -it uses the audi logo to convey a simple message. Even though this ad features the car, the most prominent thing you see is "Jooooy finally has meaning". It is the first thing you see too- read the message then see the product.

Any person who does not know what Norton is will automatically know after seeing this ad that it deals with technology. Simplicity usually works. However this ad seems to be too bland and the yellow makes it look so unattractive. I am not sure if Norton is trying to be humorous either with the text they used in this ad.

The series of ads by Jetblue promotes their most legroom availability when customers choose to ride coach. The first ad in this series reminds me of the exercise we did in class where we had to come up with a seven word message to tell someone that they are meant to be with you forever. I think that the first ad does a great job doing that. It is fun and humorous ad that gets the message across-if you want more legroom then you go to choose coach.
