On a Monday night, beneath the buzzing basement lights, Muyeol stood over a washing machine trying to shove inside an impossibly large ball of laundry. He cursed vehemently at the clothes and the machine, and at times shook the box in pure frustration. The Songcheon apartments are a far cry from poverty, however, the management apparently isn’t boujee enough to afford decent maintenance on the damn washing machines.
In fact, the monster he wrestled with was the only one he knew to work at the time, and for the past week the residents fought over it like vicious wild animals. Tonight is the first he had a shot of claiming it for himself, and he planned on setting up camp to ensure that the enormous pile he’s accumulated is cleaned by the end of the night. Cursing again, he shakes the machine until the lid latches shut, and then whoops in satisfaction. All is right with the world - that is, until someone else walked into the laundry room.
Muyeol whirls around to meet them, his face lit up with victory. “Sorry babe, but this little one is mine now.”
