Someone who will tell me that everything thing will be okay when I think my whole world is falling apart right before my eyes
Everything will be okay.
The physical act of passing through a doorway is the reason why you often walk into a room and completely forget what you were doing. Because going through a door signifies the beginning or end of something, this creates an ‘event boundary’ within your mind. Basically, every time you walk through a doorway, your brain starts filing away thoughts from your previous location to make room for a new group of memories in the next.

When you grow older you come to value constancy more than intensity or so I have found in my friendships. There are people I have met, given my heart to and with who I have experienced great joys but sadly not for long. The relationship cooled, they lost interest or maybe it was too much work to stay in touch. This busy life, I understand, tends to rob us of our time and hence relationships die. Still I wish them well for who am I to judge and the memories of however brief our time together I will cherish though sometimes it makes me sad but I confess it’s the ones that have stood the test of time that I value the most . People I might not talk to for weeks and yet there is always the reaching out, the unexpected phone call or the quiet inquiry in my inbox. They care enough to take that first step, to remember they exist in my heart always, regardless of distance or of the last time we spoke. People who value me and who think it is worth their while to have me in their lives. I confess they are a rare find but I treasure them all that much more.

When you close your eyes what do you see?
Darkness.
And I'm not referring to the one that prepares you for the next day.
I'm talking about the evil and the sinister.
The darkness that leads you to the place were everything is perfect in the world of You.
As you lay. As you think. As you devise.
Never putting your thoughts into action.
Why do you never see them through the darkness?
That's what keeps you from succeeding.
You know, the fear within the darkness.
The darkness that fools you into believing that everything will be okay.
Because you are alone. And in a peaceful state of mind.. It will have you believing.
It's that darkness that dims every glimpse of light you began to see.
It will make you believe that the only way to make it through is without opening your eyes.
So when you open your eyes what do you see?
Hope.
The light at the end where I can succeed. Where I fear no one but God.
The hope that will guide my every foostep in the direction I am meant to go.
The hope that reflects off my body telling everyone that I am light.
The hope that will make you understand that the only way you can fail is believing the darkness.
So when you look back and realize how far you have come what do you see?
A person who will never let darkness take over me.
