The intent was for this to be a low-effort palette cleanser from Other One™ I’m working on.

Anyway. Impulse decisions were made and now our characters Bi Que and Tao (@ brownie.pops on ig) are married in-game and we’ve accidentally created SO MUCH LORE around them. Whoops. It’ll mostly be shared in incoherent pieces to accompany our art, but trust me it is some GOURMET FOOD.

Bi Que as a lil baby monk, freshly steeped in angst and trauma. The backstory and lore I’m fleshing out includes him briefly joining a monastery after the events of the Qinghe main story, before getting kicked out for…delinquency…among other things. >;B Buddhist monk robes probably didn’t quite look like this during 五代十国 but I fucking looooove the orange. Might tweak the design as we go along. This was just a doodle on Magma but morphed into a full-color piece over the course of a discord call. Finished on Procreate and Meitu. Thank you Brownie for introducing me to Magma; drawing with a friend really helps me stop from overthinking and needing sketches to be perfect. I OWE YOU MY LIFE.

It’s been just over a month of playing Where Winds Meet and boy am I obsessed. Here’s a celebratory post to show my current combat build — the Twinblades + Rope Dart path called to me immediately because it’s just so fast and fun PLUS the rope dart lets you hurl literal rats at enemies.

I’ve been playing on mobile so the graphics and combat have been utter shite and it’s a wonder I managed to get anything done at all, but that’s changing soon because this might be what gets me to finally stop putting off the prospect of building a gaming PC and actually start looking into it proper.

Also my boy is no longer running around the jianghu naked and bald. I HAVE HAIR AND AN OUTFIT NOW. I’m very proud of his new face because the customization parameters are insane, and it’s really easy to have one teeny part be slightly off and not know which of the 9000 sliders you need to adjust to fix it.

His name is 毙鹊 (Bì Què) in keeping with the bird theme and the general vision I have for his color scheme is that of a leucistic oriential magpie.

n a most surprising turn of events, I’ve found myself active again on Gaia Online in the year of our lord 2025. I used to be on it all the time in the late 2000s and remember being devastated when it started to go downhill; over the years I’d occasionally log back in to reminisce, but for some reason it felt a lot livelier when I checked recently and seems to be on its way to bouncing back! My username is X-Oskelet0n, feel free to add me!

A smaller but extremely dedicated pool of users are still around, and people are generally VERY helpful and generous. Within my second day of playing I literally had a person I’d never spoken to before gift me 10+ things from my wishlist and a bunch items to help me get started in the new Lake Kindred game. The forums are as lively and colorful as ever, and even zOMG! is back, albeit a little wonky...but they’re working on it!

Also, grinding for in-game currency is surprisingly painless??? Lots of opportunities for free stuff too. I was able to put together a brand-new decent-looking avatar in just one day. Reach out to support if you can’t recover your email/password, I’ve heard that they’re very helpful with finding other ways to ensure verify that the account really belongs to you. I wanna see a new generation of weird kids and weird adults flooding back to this site, there’s really nothing else like it.

So Phoebe (in the sunglasses) and I made the impulse decision to go see MCR’s Long Live the Black Parade tour in Boston. It’s been years since we’ve hung out, and as the former resident Emo Kids™ back in high school, this felt like a fitting reunion. All of it felt unreal and I’m still reeling. 

I’ve NEVER cried at a concert before but I suppose there’s a first time for everything. .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·. There are no words for how much this experience rocked us to the core with waves of nostalgia mixed with sheer delight at the absolutely unhinged new lore. They fucking cooked with the concept. 

I wasn’t aware of how much each stop of the tour varied until now — Boston had some monumental changes to the lore AND also got Gerard’s favorite B-stage setlist (DOUBLE FUCKIN VAMPIRES).

Also as former cello majors and stand partners, it was tremendously exciting to see a massive cello solo during the intermission. ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

Just an over a month before the show we decided on a whim to dress the part after seeing photos trickling in from previous tour stops — since the new uniforms only debuted for this tour, we were one of the only people with the black-gold-red version instead of the original monochrome. Everyone was so sweet with their compliments ;__; 

Phoebe hand-made her jacket and pants!! I wish everyone could see it in person, it’s so stunningly accurate. My jacket was one I found that looked similar enough but lacked any red, so she made me an arm patch and sparkly aiguilette to make it a little more LLTBP-coded. We were so glittery under the stadium lights. ⊹₊⟡⋆ 

Also I made us matching nails ৻(  •̀ ᗜ •́  ৻)
