Peter says, although his voice is calmer than a sea before a STORM. his expression screams otherwise but he’s about to get INVESTED in this conversation. it’s not that he cannot handle his QUESTIONING & there’s an undeniable amount of right he has to do so, but even then, there’s a small STING he feels. he cannot PINPOINT its source, but it’s there.

❝ would you like me to sit down and write a REPORT ? or would you like to hear a PERCENTAGE VALUE ? which would be a higher value than the percentage of TRUST you seem to have left in the guardians. ❞ the half human adds, he’s still PATIENT. he has the time to cajole & ‘ pretty please ‘ him, if he can BRING himself there once the heat of the moment passes. though he knows Adam knows of the times that he didn’t have the TIME for such thing.

"My concern is with the team, Peter. Not you alone,” he confesses. The guardian’s temperament is perceived as a personal offense; perhaps his words were unkind but not far from his newly formed opinion on the team’s effectiveness. In one point the warlock can agree with him: a percentage value would do little to change his mind, numbers can be altered, influenced by any kind of phenomenon, and they would hardly represent the productivity he is aiming to evaluate. The fact that bigger threats arise with time would never be their fault.

Adam remains impassive, unaltered by the volume of his voice. He only stares at the man until he can formulate an answer. “You are right. Instead of demanding a report or statistics, I would like to spend a week with your team, watch you fight with my own eyes, and therefore be witness of how you still guard the galaxy.” His tone is calm for he means this proposition. There is no better way.

“That way no one will claim my judgement is unfounded and you will not claim my trust in the group is nonexistent.” There is still some, yet more HOPE than his preconceptions are wrong.

The connection I perceived was merely spiritual.” His head shook in disapproval. “You are----- you must be right before this entity to comprehend this feeling, there is so much... power in its presence, a manner of energy I had never sensed.”
