Boracay Travel Blog
Four years ago, it was on the eve of November 9, 2016 to be exact, when our Tatay told us that we, together with our grandparents, will be having a 3-day vacation at Boracay the following day. I immediately imagined what it was like to be there, thinking about going to the beach makes me even more excited than ever. I know it is really soothing and relaxing going to those kinds of places. However, I was worried of the three days of absence from school. But since the trip was planned by my parents eight months ahead and thinking of the fond memories that we'll be making during this trip, I thought that it would just be okay and just enjoy.
Fast forward to the day of our flight, I woke up early that day to prepare myself, wore simple lounge clothes and viola' ready to go! We got stuck on traffic for a bit before we finally got to the airport. It's been twelve years since the last time I travelled by plane. We waited for less than thirty minutes before we finally boarded. The experience was fine, Air Asia's crew was very kind and accommodating, they all looked good as well and they seem very professional, The flight took an hour from Manila to Caticlan it was also a quick flight.
The plane landed safe at Caticlan city, we rented a van to go to Boracay. I fell asleep during the trip which took almost two hours. It was a super long and boring moment for me that's why I did not have a hard time sleeping. I woke up when we reached Boracay. We still had to take two more rides, a ferry boat that brought us to the island in less than thirty minutes and a tricycle where the six of us fitted in and took us to our reserved accommodation. We rested a bit after checking in at the resthouse, a bungalow type of house with three beds, fully airconditioned, two bathrooms. It also had a kitchen equipped with complete utensils, pots and pans and a refrigerator so we were able to cook our lunch and dinner since breakfast came free with the accommodation. Wifi and TV were also available at the resthouse.
The three-day Boracay sojourn was spent daily with new happy memories. Every after breakfast, we would roam around the island, swim at the beach and enjoy the beautiful sceneries. Everything was very relaxing from sunrise to sunset. The white sand felt so fine while walking barefoot. Friendly tourists were all around, offering smiles and greetings when we walk past them. We trekked from station one to four, visited the grotto at station one. It was designed with rocks that were formed perfectly for Mama Mary. We had the chance to go to the local market and buy things to cook for our lunch and dinner. We cooked adobo for lunch and sinigang for dinner. Our family, less our grandparents, went helmet diving. At first, I felt a bit nervous and the need to back out, I felt my stomach turning around, scared of what could possibly happen underwater like water entering my helmet that would cause difficulty in breathing, but then, I still did it! Once underwater, all fears vanished. The sceneries were heavenly, I admired the sights underwater, we took videos and pictures, I fed some of the fishes that were too small and colorful, corals were everywhere. The feeling was surreal! I really had so much fun, no regrets that I did it!
Traveling really satisfies my whole being, I really enjoy traveling to different places especially when there's beach, I am really into doing fun activities, exploring great adventures and getting out of my comfort zone little by little. I must say I was very lucky to have experienced this vacation early on my life. A trillion thanks to my parents and grandparents! If given another chance to travel back to Boracay, I would surely grab it, no second thoughts. Hopefully with my loved ones for the second time around and very soon with my friends once our budget permits and when we got the time to travel. Boracay is one of the top beaches here in the Philippines, it is a small island known for its white sand and breathtaking views. It was definitely worth visiting.
