Today, is the official start of GCQ in Metro Manila. Immune systems, handaaaa... na! Well, eventhough it’s true that Philippines is far from being COVID free, this announcement made me feel like something has ended, and something is about to begin. I don’t know if I’m just being weird.
This decision scares me a lot because I think it’s sudden, premature, created without contingency plans, clumsy and telling the Filipinos “bahala na” at best. I know that this freedom might not help the country get back to its feet, because I believe that the negative effects of such is at a greater advantage.
This government is lacking. We were left out to fend for ourselves. We were continuously let down. Sure, there were relief goods, even some financial aid, ‘ayuda’ they call it. But is that enough? Will that be enough?
So ayun. I just really hope that in getting by and trying to survive this pandemic, we have learned and understood enough for us to take precautions when we go out there.
