FINIS //
X ANIMO was my debut art project. I started it in 2012 when I was in need of a creative outlet and over the past five years it has done more for me, both creatively and personally, than I could have asked for.
Although small, many of my artistic goals were realised through X ANIMO. I was featured in print, on CD and vinyl and had my work exhibited in galleries, shows and markets across my hometown of Melbourne. Those that know me personally understand how much this meant to me.
By far, the most valuable thing X ANIMO brought me was connecting with the beautiful people that changed me forever. The reciprocation of inspiration and creation over these years was a nirvanic force during good times and bad. I am forever thankful to the sisterhood for nurturing me through the journey.
It took a long time and many tormenting hours wearing down paper and canvas before I realised I was trying to rouse the dead; X ANIMO was done.
To any artist, creating is as essential to life as air to breathe. I'm not particularly great at art, but it’s something I just have to do. Unfortunately for me, creativity is a rather enigmatic force. She cares not for my ego or bedtime or identity crisis but dances to her own ebb and flow. The only certainty she brings is that, like an old friend, she always comes back. On that note, I can promise you my art and I will be back someday, in one form or another.
Thanks so much for being here.
