Day 002 | Dr. Aphra
cienna burr’in
Honestly Cienna expected the whole leg thing- people tended to do that more than she liked and it was inconvenient for her; maybe she should find a way to make it so it couldn’t happen so easily, but Cienna enjoyed how easily she could slip it on and off otherwise.
Grunting when she hit the ground, Cienna quickly turned to see her droid stun the thief, not as if she could have gotten out quickly, the door was locked. With a shaky breath Cienna grabbed her leg, reattaching it and getting back on her feet before going to the droid, rubbing its head “Good droid.” She smiled, looking down at the woman before taking back the pieces Aphra had stolenagain before kneeling down in front of her, determining whether she was unconscious or just severely incapacitated by that. Either way she deserved it.
aphra was prepared to say something else before yelling in pain. as she hit the ground with a grunt, aftershocks still coursing through her body. look, chelli had always like droids. but this one kriffing sucked .
lying there completely numb, she flicked her eyes up to the girl, trying to say something, a weak whine coming instead. this was no where she expected her day to end up. at least the pain in her shoulder was gone for now, she thought to herself.
cienna burr’in
At this point Cienna was growing impatient with this situation. This woman clearly still had some things of hers and refused to give them up and Cienna didn’t have time to deal with someone like this. So, perhaps a bit recklessly, she rolled her eyes when Aphra met her eyes and shot her blaster. Not anywhere that would kill the woman but in the shoulder where it would certainly hurt.
As she was going down Cienna strode over to reach into Aphra’s pocket and pull out the processor that was missing from her pocket, looming over her “This is why you don’t steal from me.”
maybe she underestimated the mechanic’s...passion? whatever, willingness to actually shoot that blaster-- but she certainly did not expect to be shot in the shoulder. the girl barely looked like she actually knew how to hold the gun.
she yelped some, grabbing her shoulder, falling back into the table she had previously been under.
well this wasn't ideal.
she met the woman’s eyes, a frankly deadly look in her own when she spouted her comeback bantha shit. with one last look at her eyes, she kicked the woman’s leg out from under her, quickly grabbing the processor, and the part she had set down, running towards the exit.
her arm could wait for now, she really didn’t want to be killed after only being back a few weeks.
with a quick glance back she yelled back, “see you later! sorry it worked out like this-- maybe we can get dinner next time instead!”
cienna burr’in
Whatever this woman was trying to do clearly it wasn’t working. Watching carefully as the thief stepped around the table she adjusted her stance to still aim her blaster directly at her.
And then she took out the part from her pocket- a good start but it was far from perfect. ‘That’s all I’ve got.’ Cienna just snorted at her words. She had dealt with enough people trying to get her guard down with sympathy but hell, Cienna wasn’t one for that. “The processor in your left pocket begs to differ.” She raised her chin and eyebrows a little “Mmm if you were brought back once there would be no problem in doing it again. Now I’ll say this one more time, put down everything you’ve taken down otherwise my next question will be if you’d rather be blasted in the head or the heart.”
she simply raised an eyebrow at her accusing her. yeah she was...certainly right. but... hell aphra actually needed this processor to finish the droid she’d been tasked to upgrade. because apparently that’s all she was good for.
she had a few choices right now. she could set the part down. she could also pull out her own blaster. but...she could also probably run of out here if she kicked the girls prosthetic out from under her.
looking the girl over, she met her eyes, “i don’t know what you’re talking about. that was it.”
darth vel
THE SITH CERTAINLY LOVED A GOOD TEASE AND CHASE ESPECIALLYwhen her choice for who would end up in her bed that night was bold, absolutely naïve, and has a cute face. it was extremely rare for anything to get passed vel so to say that the stranger was nervous was evident to even a drunk man who couldn’t see straight. however, the kiffaran was alady and wouldn’t tease her about it —– at least not yet.
intrigued and amused by the woman’s choice of words, vel leans against the counter of the cantina, eyeing her not-so-subtly. “perhaps it’s in your favor tonight–” she purrs, placing her empty glass on the counter for the bartender to refill her —- however, her gaze never shifts away. “ thank you for the drink, dear. it’s greatly appreciated~ ”
swirling her glass, her lips part to say something, but stops herself from saying anything at first. it was rare for her to speak with someone who wasn’t a person on her list to hit, so it was a change of pace that she was far too eager and enthused to see play out. “so, ms stranger, what brings you down here in the depths of coruscant? surely it cannot be the fresh air here.” she jests with a giggle, taking a drink of her liquor.
it was a surprise that aphra had managed to keep this woman from leaving. or at least surprising that she hadn’t made her want to kill her. that was generally what happened when aphra at all attempted to flirt. and relationships? those almost always ended up with a blaster being pointed at someone’s head.
anyways, she did have to wonder why this woman had stuck around.
this was quickly pushed aside at the woman’s next words.
swallowing nervously, she kept her eyes on the woman. she could easily find herself lost in her voice. hadn’t her dad always said she had horrible taste in woman?... this seemed like great taste. she ordered her own drink, shoving some credits forward before turning back to vel.
what was she doing on coruscant? they hadn’t explained why they wanted her back-- evidently it wasn’t under vader’s leadership anymore. not that he’d want her back. “fresh air from the dullness of war. it’s not all that bad-- dantooine is certainly worse,” she mentioned, taking a small sip of her drink, “but i think you have more reason to explain. don’t exactly fit in with the... aesthetic?”
darth vel
SHE WASN’T THE TYPE TO SHOW UP TO SUCH A HIGH PROFILE EVENT that this part of the district was in uproar about, however, there was no harm indulging in the pleasantries that it had to offer. she had a single glass of liquor in hand as she watched the poor drunkards singing in shanty and rejoice over something with an expression of amusement on her countenance. though she seemed to have her guard down, she was no fool to not pay attention to her surroundings —– especially to the attractive young woman who was approaching her.
and most certainly, darth vel was intrigued to know who this bold person was as she attempted to flirt with her. she will play along. “ what does ‘someone like me’ need a date for when i can be in the presence of someone as striking as yourself? perhaps it is fate’s doing to bring you to me tonight, love. ” she teases back, brow quirked as she turns to face the stranger with a glint of mischief in her eyes and a slight smile on her lips.
all aphra could do was hope that the panic she was currently feeling wasn’t as visible on her face as it was buzzing in her mind right now. she definitely had not been been expecting that response to her sorry excuse for flirting. swallowing down her anxiety (sort of) for now she glanced back up to meet the woman’s face.
couldn’t back out now...
...she should have just lifted her wallet
aphra gave a bit of a smirk, her face scrunching some at the comment. she couldn’t tell if she was being thoroughly teased for her appearance of complimented. “i may not be an expert when it comes to fate-- but it has certainly not been in my favor a lot--” why was she saying this, “anyways, we could test it- see if it’s bathashit or not. let me buy you a drink?”
cienna burr’in
“I think you’re just full of bantha fodder.” Cienna snorted at the woman’s lies, standing firmly with her blaster pointed at the woman.”If you think this place looks abandoned then you’ve never stepped foot in a shop before.” She watched her with fierce eyes, unamused at the crooked grin on her face. “Now I recommend you put everything you’ve taken from here down, and believe me, I’ll know if you still have something, and maybe I’ll be merciful.” Cienna practically snarled, droid whirring in agreement to Cienna’s words, taser still pointed at the woman. It was clear in Cienna’s eyes that she had shot and killed people before and she would not hesitate to do so again.
bantha fodder? well. she was honestly a bit offended at the girls tone. her lies weren’t great but....
well they weren’t great.
she took a chance and stepped around the table to get a bit closer to the girl who was-- frankly--not terrible looking, actually she was pretty gorgeous but.
kriff. focus aphra.
she gave the girl a smile, setting the largest part she had pocketed on the table, and lifted her hands some, “that’s all i’ve got, sweetheart. it’s just been-- you know with the ressurection and everything...” she was trying to get some sympathy here because. hell, that girl was ready to blast her brains out.
I LOVE these comics, I truly do.

cienna burr’in
Now Cienna Bur’rin had never considered herself a dull woman- she knew when a situation was going to escalate faster than she could handle but for once this might not get out of hand. Her eyes watched as the woman got out from under her table, R9 prepared with its little taser.
“A misunderstanding? Please, enlighten me on how you breaking into my workshop and trying to steal from me is just a misunderstanding.” Cienna’s tone was even, heavy, finger never pulling off the trigger as she kept the blaster pointed at Aphra.
eyes flicked back to the blaster several times. while she had certainly been in this position more than once... getting shot right after being revived wasn’t exactly what chelli had in mind when she snuck into this workshop.
with a slightly crooked smile she watched the girl, slowly stepping around from behind the tabl. if she had to guess the girl was resistance, based on the pure fact that she was dirtier than most of the first order members she’d seen.
that and the fact that she’d never seen someone in the first order with a shop this disorganized before.
“look, i thought the workshop was abandoned and i was trying to loot it before the first order did,” she lied, hoping it was convincing enough for the girl, “didn’t know it belonged to anyone, wouldn’t have even tried.”
cienna burr’in
Even with the celebration happening Cienna didn’t leave her shop very often. With many people in the resistance out and celebrating and trying to relax a little from the threat of the first order Cienna had been spending more time than usual in her off-base shop. Of course the one time she left to get some food and other supplies this would happen. She was walking along, chatting with her droid.
Getting to the door she set her bag down to unlock it when she had to stop. It… Was unlocked. She would never do that. What the… Grabbing her blaster from its holster she opened the door quickly, eyes scanning the room. She knew every inch of this place and could see what the thief had taken, or tried to. “Do a scan.” She murmured to R9, closing the door and administer a latch, having no intent of letting whoever was here have an easy escape. Having gown up in a family of petty thieves she knew how this would probably go down.
Under the table R9 whistled and Cienna walked over, pointing her blaster at where the droid said they were. “I’d come out while I still give you the option to.”
aphra let out a breath when she heard the girl that had walked in. so likely it was the mechanic. she always seemed to get herself into these situations. why couldn’t the owner stay out for once.
hands tight around her blaster in it’s holder, she un did the strap. not that she wanted to get into a shoot out but... she certainly had done it before.
slowly rising out from under the table, aphra gave a bit of a sheepish smile at the, frankly not bad looking girl with her blaster pointed at her. she lifted her arms up, “this is all really just a misunderstanding.”
she wasn’t exactly sure how she had found herself in the small repair shot but, well here she was. the owner didn’t seem to be home, the festival likely keeping them away for the week. honestly, aphra should feel bad about how easy this was going to be to lift a few parts.
she should feel bad.
currently in the process of ripping out a data chip from the remnants of a broken down droid, eyes perked up at the sound of a door opening. eyes widened as she shuffled underneath a table, trying to keep herself hidden until she could make a break for it.
@burrinc
the archaeologist had no idea why she was revived. sure. she worked with darth vader once. luke skywalker called her his friend. she was good at her job. but she couldn’t figure out for the life of her why she woke up in the stark walls of the first order resurrection facility, memories fuzzy, and no memory how she had gotten there.
or what the hell the first order was to be quite frank.
aphra had decked out of the facility as soon as possible and into the bustling city, where of course the festival of lights was taking place. at least she knew what that was. not everything had changed.
eyes passed through the crowd until she saw her.
she wasn’t the same as the other festival goers running into her drunkenly, no, she was somewhat sober and absolutely gorgeous. she supposed it was good that she hadn’t lost her taste during the process.
either way there were only a few options here.
leave, lift her credit pouch, or introduce herself.
maybe it was the rush of revial running through her veins, or aphras great ability to make horrible rash decisions, but she found herself walking over to the woman.
“i’m surprised you’re still here alone. would’ve thought someone like you would’ve had a date,” she teased a bit.
well she was certainly rusty.
@drthqure
bright lights and busy streets weren’t what she would have expected to be brought back to. aphra had made her way to coruscant before- but it was no less impressive now. but this wasn’t before… no this was her second chance. what had the medics that woke her up called it? revival? re purposing. she honestly didn’t know what use she really had to the first order- yes she had served under darth vader during the empire’s reign, but she was also easily disposed of even then. surely there were other people that could build droids and find valuable things.
either way, she wasn’t going to complain. yeah, she didn’t have her droid companions, or sana or tolvan… but she’d made do with out them before. she didn’t need anyone else. what mattered was keeping her ass alive right now. but surprisingly for chelli? they had left her with free reign to explore the city alone. or go back to doing what she did best, as the case may be. even if that meant she might be risking double crossing the first order immediately.
making her way through the festival- it was simple to stay out of sights. which made it all the easier to take advantage of the drunken states of the attendees.
she reached into a man's pocket, quickly lifting her wallet, and disappeared back into the crowd. now this wasn't usually up her alley. but the first order paid shit and she needed some spending credits. hurrying to get away before noticed, she couldn’t help but feel like she was being followed. darting into a corridor, she whipped around to point her blaster.
