"Yeah, but I hadn't told you I'm a secret government spy and I blew my cover," he smiled. "Catlyn..."

HEART TO HEART
WHO: Parker & Xavier Rhiding WHAT: A Small Talk WHEN: End of February WHERE: Rhiding Estate MENTIONS: (BY NAME) Catlyn, Philip TRIGGERS: None
The call from his father had been unexpected. Especially since last time he had spoken to his father it hadn't gone well at all. It wasn't like his father to call him. Usually that was his mother's job. Ellie actually cared about her son, but she didn't do anything to stop her husband from annoying him about things Xavier had learned to almost ignore. (Even though his father still made him mad every time they spoke. But Xavier had no excuses. He really didn't at this point. Because his social life had become almost non-existent and the only person he hung out with was Catlyn.
"And you’re silly," she replied, squeezing his hand back. And he did make her laugh, which was one of the reasons she liked him so much.
"Oh, no. I've shown you my silly side. That means I'm going to have to kill you," he said with a straight face, but only for about a second. "One of these days, you're going to realize you deserve so much better than me."
"I’m all splotchy," she told him, although she really did not mind.
"You're cute anyway," he said with a smile. Xavier reached down for her hand, squeezing it lightly. It was effortless being with her. He didn't have to pretend to be anyone.
"You’re going to make me blush," she warned him.
"You're cute when you blush," he smiled, placing a kiss on her cheek.
It was nice, just being with him. Just being. “I’m glad I met you,” she murmured.
"I'm pretty sure I'm the one who should be glad I met you," he smiled. "I'm glad you're here."
Catlyn tilted her head up and kissed him back, unable to bite back her smile as the kiss deepened. Kissing Xavier just felt right…Through her work, Catlyn had kissed a lot of men, but none of them were as good as Xavier.
"I’m happy with you too," she replied, rocking back onto her heels. "That’s so sweet of you."
Honestly, he couldn't imagine kissing anyone else. He didn't want anyone else. Only her, no matter how much it would make his father angry. He wrapped his arms around her, smiling into the kiss.
He kept his arms wrapped around her. "I'm glad you are," he whispered.
"Lucky for you, I’m okay at cooking." She smiled up at him. "Yeah. It is."
He was grateful to hear that she was okay at cooking. He wasn't that bad, but he wasn't that good at cooking either. Xavier smiled. He couldn't help it. Not around her. He leaned down and gently pressed his lips to hers. It was the moments like this where he felt like there was nothing better than the two of them together. Like they were perfect for each other.
"I know this is cheesy and everything," he said, pulling away from the kiss, but not away from her, "but I don't want anyone else. I just want to be happy around you."
"I can pretend. Yeah?"
"Maybe I'll take a cooking class or something. That might be handy. I'm going to kiss you," he whispered. "I hope that's okay."
"I…The food was good too."
"I’m glad to hear that."
"I'm glad you did. I can't really cook, but we can pretend. Er, Catlyn?"
"I’m glad you invited me."
"Course, you're my girl."
"Erm, but I mean-- not my girl. Just... sort of."
"No. It was perfect. I’m sorry I didn’t get you anything."
"It's fine. You don't need to get me anything. Just being here is enough for me," he smiled.
"Thanks for the flowers."
"I'm glad you liked them. I hoped it wasn't too overboard."
"This has been a fantastic Sunday," Catlyn sighed as she finished off the remains of her pastry.
"You're right. It has been a fantastic Sunday."
Sally smiled upon hearing that her clumsiness wouldn’t be held against her because normally she was given the opposite reaction, so seeing that she wasn’t this time it was rather refreshing. Her hands kept happily showering Bowie with petting love and attention as she laughed softly at how much he was loving the lavishing attention. “He seems like he is. He… he must be so umm lucky to have you… how long have you had him?”
He couldn't blame her for being clumsy. Not when he hadn't been paying attention himself. He knew that it wouldn't feel right to blame her. He wasn't rude anyway. Xavier watched her with the puppy for a little bit, smiling at the small dog barking and wagging his tale at the red haired woman. "I've actually only had him since Christmas, but he seems to love me, so that's good."
She laughed along with his words, having to concede he was right. She couldn’t think of a single flaw about any of Europe, save for that nasty bit of conflict back in the mid 40’s. “Your secret is safe with me,” she nodded, mimicking locking her lips with a phantom key.
Xavier smiled at Annie. "Good," he laughed. "So how have you been?" he asked, tilting his head to the side with a grin on his face. "I'm sure you've been better than me."
