Cerby looked up. “Please stay alive Sally,” His eyes glistening with tears.”I don’t want to drag you to the Underworld yet.” He whimpered. “Please talk to Jack, Mommy.”

Maleficent twirled the flower in her hands. Baby’s breath-that's what they called it. She herself didn’t care for the flower but she knew the Banshee would. She walked towards the other, still trying to keep her composure. 

“You don’t need that fool to get you flowers.” She hands her the flower. “Get them from someone who means it.”

Cerebrus clapped when the desert came on the table. The ice cream sundae looked so good yet so big. Cerebus was about to dig in when he saw Sally sulking a bit. He scooched over. 

“I don’t know what happened with you and Jack,” Cerby admitted, love was still confusing to him. “But please have some ice cream with me.” He looked at Sally with puppy dog eyes. “Pretty please.”

“Flowers are very beautiful.” Tripp said with a smile. He adjusted Jack’s hair with a smile. “But it’s your sincerity that will shine with your love.” The farmhand adjusted the rest of Jack’s clothes. “You will have a lasting relationship, I can tell.”

She wanted to just talk to Sally. Maleficent didn’t know what went on with Sally and-her sorry excuse of a husband. But Maleficent saw potential in her-Sally can be the fiercest ruler. She just needed to let go of that deadweight. Maleficent entered the building, flowers and pastries in hand. The most motherly smile etched her face. 

“Sally, it has been too long.” She whispered greeting the other.

One of the children that ran up and down the halls of the hospital left a small rubber ball which Caroline gratefully took and threw it against the wall. She'd seen enough television to know that if you throw it at the right angle the ball can come back to you, but she was ultimately failing and the nurses kept giving her dirty looks for disrupting the person in the room next to hers. The ball flew across the room and she followed it with her eyes as it landed by the feet of a very familiar redhead. "Hey," she smiled as she settled back in her bed.
