practice emote i made for my stream :)
Found this project online and did it in 5 minutes just to see what I could make :) DESIGN YOUR NAME: The Project: Design your first and last name (middle name is optional) on a 500 px wide x 400px tall space. Research typeface specimens from various sources as well as what is loaded on the lab. computer your own computer. Write down 2 to 3 adjectives that best describes your personality or spirit. Then find typefaces that you believe express' your personality or spirit. Give careful consideration to the positive and negative space relationships and the space between the letterforms. Objective: This first exercise is designed to familiarize you with type as a pure design element as well as to communicate verbal language.

Final Animation - If I had worked on it more I feel I could have done better but I think it still looks nice. I wanted to animate more but I like the simplicity of the animation.
The story of the animation is that the girl listening to music is letting her imagination run wild and it starts to become real life. I made the clouds reverse to try and show that it wasn’t reality but from her imagination. I wanted to have a simple background color and a panel (the blue background) to separate reality vs imagination. I really liked all the colors I used but felt that there may have been too much going on.
This was a practice gif I made from an idea that I wanted to use but ended up scraping
What I have before beginning to animate >> - I feel like I have too much in the background going on but most of will be static - I want to animate a few (3 or 4) foreground leaves and have her hair blowing in the wind maybe the clouds as well to really emphasize the wind - Also not sure about the colors (background, shirt, skin color) - I want to show that the character has a creative imagination as she’s listening to music I still have a lot to work on
Progress of my animation :p
Sketch of my animation idea lol
Animation Research
For my animation I want to work with a style that I really enjoy (lines and bold colors). I thinking of animating a witch shifting her eyes.
Final movie poster - Elise Allison
The movie is about a world that is invaded by aliens trying to take over the planet. The main character, a girl who had been constantly abused by humans her whole life, befriends an alien who sees that she is different from her kind. The alien experiences her memories and makes her their leader as she destroys her home planet. She continues to rule the galaxy with no remorse. :)
It would be a live action science fiction movie geared towards teenagers and adults.
Mask Sketch
Forgot to post a sketch of the mask (This was finally deciding what I wanted to make)
Added some fake movie credits~ This was also based off of @madrodent poster
Practice movie posters
Some quick simple movie posters I made while looking for inspiration :)

Personal Critique
After the class critique I realized that I could have done more to emphasize the black and white mask. I should’ve used some form of crosshatching so my mask’s face wasn’t fully white. I also feel like I could have added more gradient and shading on other parts of the mask such as the teeth. I should have made the moth on her head more moth like as some people were mistaking it for a butterfly. I also should have changed up the color and not used a solid black color.
Movie Poster Inspiration
I collaged a bunch of NASA space pictures as inspiration for my movie poster.
Final Mask
During this project I learned a lot about Illustrator and all of its tools. The most difficult part of this project was using the mesh tool because it was hard for me to determine where the light source would shine on the horns. It was fun playing with all the gradients and highlights in the mask.
