Raising a brow at her command, he tossed the book to her instead.

Her glare fades into a soft smirk as his words more or less set in. Though she’d deny it for ages, the attention he was giving her was fantastic.

“Also, if I’m a princess, that makes you my little slave. Now go buy me food, bitch.”

“That's...quite the mental image. I'll be sure to keep it in mind. Who in their right mind would want to be called parliament? Not to mention it doesn't sound remotely sexy. Talk about turn off."

Her reaction had been so worth it. Not to mention his guess had been correct; she had wanted to, essentially, gut him. Psychic, much?

”One, you really shouldn’t be thinking about me enough to attempt to guess my sexuality. Two, I kind of date and fuck whoever I want; I’m just picky. Three, you’re taking me out to the most expensive place you can think of. I’ll maybe let you eat with me.”

[ A small smirk threatens to crawl onto her lips. Their little back and forth routine was riveting. ]

“I like nice food.”

“One, who said I was thinking about you a lot? Certainly not me. Two, never said you couldn't. Date and fuck away. Wait-- do you mean you wouldn't date and/or fuck me if you got the chance? Three, there's not that many expensive places to eat here in Storybrooke. So maybe just buy a lot of shit and get it to go or something. And it would be an honour to be able to eat with you..."

a p p e r a n c e - vampires do tend to hold a paler skin tone that regular humans. as they are made to be predators, everything about them is made to entrance humans; from their eyes (which tend to change colors when feeding), to the tones of their voices (sickly sweet, like honey and pure cane sugar), to the way that they walk. they are made to draw humans in, and that they do.

h e i g h t e n e d s e n s e s - with the changes in their bodies comes a change in their senses. everything in heightened. emotions, sight, taste, touch, smell. some vampires even joke around that sex is more enjoyable since the turn. the one downside is the slight sensitivity to sunlight. while it will not kill them, their heightened senses cause the sun’s rays to penetrate deeper than most, causing mild to severe discomfort.

c o m p u l s i o n - one neat little trick vampires pick up is the ability to compel humans to do their bidding. one simple look into a human’s eyes paired with a firm command, and suddenly the human can’t resist.

g l a m o u r e f f e c t - skilled vampires can change their appearance with a simple thought, effectively making it hard for hunters to track them by appearance. it is mainly used for survival purposes only, but some misuse it to mess with mortals.

h e a l i n g - vampires can be hurt, although not as easily as humans. when hurt, a vampire can heal much quicker than a mortal if that vampire is consistently consuming human blood. if they drink animal blood instead, the healing is slower, but still quicker than humans. starving vampires heal even slower than humans. also, vampire blood can cure human wounds.

m i n d r e a d i n g - while drinking the blood of humans, vampires can briefly get a sense of what they are thinking, what they are feeling at that moment. for newborns, this is what makes the first feed a terrifying experience.

i m m o r t a l i t y - it is a well known fact that vampires stop aging whenever they are turned. they remain young and beautiful until attacked by a hunter with one of the vampire’s many weaknesses.

w e a k n e s s e s - although vampires are made to be the ultimate predator, even they have weaknesses. they are sensitive to sunlight, though it will not kill them. silver will give them intense, hard-to-heal burns. wooden stakes and ( ironically enough ) wolfsbane are the only two things that can honestly kill a vampire. the wooden stake must go through the heart, and the wolfsbane must be ingested in large doses. vampires can develop an immunity to wolfsbane over time by taking it in small doses for over two-hundred or more years.

b l o o d s h a r i n g - the act of two vampires sharing their own blood with each other is perhaps the most intimate act they can do. usually, this act is performed by mates, as, after blood sharing, the two vampires become more attuned to one another. they will be able to discern how close they are to said person, and if that other person is in harm’s way or not. it binds their souls, in a sense.
