There’s this episode in season 3 of one day at a time where Syd and Elena are talking about sex that really stuck out to me. Elena reveals she’s not actually sure if she’s ready to have sex and Syd says that it’s ok if she wants to wait, and that they “can do it in a month, in a year, or never if that’s what you want” and I thought the last part was really noteworthy. It was so awesome to hear not having sex as an option. You never hear about not having sex as an option in a romantic relationship because it is usually mandatory and expected, especially on TV. I hope this can give hope to the alloromantic asexual/sex repulsed people out there to know that not having sex is an option and there is nothing wrong with it. You don’t need to have sex to be in a relationship. You do not need to have sex to be loved. You do not need to have sex to be normal.
