Aaron laughed. “Maybe I should but going that deep takes a lot of energy that I could use towards other activities. But you’re not wrong. I think I’m just lazy.” He nodded. “You’re right and I do maintain that but it’s not without struggle. Oh, I’m thinking about Fight Club specifically. Amazing film.”

“lazy, or just in power saving mode,” denise suggested. “speaking of laziness, maybe that’s why i choose to watch more movies that don’t force me to use so much energy trying to figure out what’s going on. i use so much of it trying to keep my life and the sorority organized that i just can’t deal with the seriousness of a movie,” she laughed softly. “i haven’t seen that movie in years, but didn’t he end up being three people in his own head?”

“no, it wasn’t even like that at all. at least with those you can’t help but watch, but this? i don’t even know how to describe it.”

“could you imagine the upset in the house?” denise asked, her eyes growing wide. “i’m pretty sure olivia would have my head if i even thought about doing such a thing.”

“was that the movie with liv tyler? i’m not sure if i actually watched it or not, i don’t really recall it,” denise shrugged. “i didn’t have nightmares, but i definitely had to keep my closet light turned on for a few months after it.”

Aaron furrowed his brow and thought on her words for a moment. “Interesting, the movies they think of these days. That’s an extremely dark concept and I don’t think my frat boy brain can handle that.” Aaron chuckled lightly. “Right, I love plot twists at the end and your mind just blown.”

“this is something i don’t say to people often, but you should give your frat boy brain a little more credit than that,” denise chimed in. “you do have to maintain a certain grade point average to stay in the organization, don’t you. plus, you’re using phrases like dark concept. i think your frat boy brain could handle it just fine. got any suggestions for those types of movies? obviously, i’m lacking.”

Jenny paused, her eyebrows raising in confusion. “Wait… you’ve never– What? How is that even possible? To that first part, not to the Pride and Prejudice bit. Although, you should really watch that movie. It’s so good. But how do you not repeat movies? That’s like, really bizarre to me.”

denise chuckled to herself. “i think it’s because i’ve never really enjoyed a movie enough to rewatch it multiple times. when i was a kid though, that was different. i used to rewind disney movies over and over, especially during my favorite parts. but now? not so much. i just don’t get into things like that anymore.”

“So what’s the movie? Doesn’t even sound a little bit familiar so you are definitely ahead on this one,” he told her. “It is incredible. And not awful for you.”

“it came out last year, i think during the summer. it was supposed to be one of those big blockbusters, but i’m not sure if it lived up to the hype. judging from everyone’s reaction around here, it didn’t,” denise laughed. “right? i’m trying to get my sorority sisters to switch to it from coffee.”

“I don’t care it’s cool” Felicity replied brightly, leaning forward. “Huh, that sounds like a super cool plot easily but I get why it would have been weak, ya know?”

“it was just.. very confusing,” denise nodded. “honestly, i don’t know why i expected it to actually be good. it seems like nothing is anymore.”

“That’s that horror movie with a blonde girl from Warm Bodies, right?” Liv asked, restraining a yawn as she made another pot of coffee to keep her awake during the night of studying. “Can’t say I’m really interested in watching any horror movies, they’re not exactly my thing.”

“are you going to judge me if i say i’ve never seen warm bodies?” denise asked, tilting her head back to watch her friend prepare another pot of coffee from the table. “just like how coffee isn’t really my thing. when are you going to switch to tea? it’s better for you.”
