Leaving Me at 2:03 (Xephlez)
((This wasn'tsupposed to be so angsty and sad. For @doctorbethanysartblog âs Suit au. Disclaimer: I donât actually know how Jordan would feel about all of this, My brain wanted angst and angst it got.))
Jordan woke up when he heard something scuttling around the room. He let out a soft groan before his hand reached out to the body beside him. Xephos was the swordsman, he could take care of it.
But when his hand met only empty air and cold sheets, he decided to open his eyes warily. He saw moonlight shine over a thin silhouette, a bioluminsesent blue glow coming from his loverâs eyes cover his face and helping the male see what he was doing.
Jordan narrowed his eyes. âXeph? What are you doing up? Come back to bed.â He said groggily, rubbing his eyes. He was not a fan of his personal night-light being up and sneaking around in the dark.
Xephos froze when he heard Jordanâs voice, like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Jordan blinked a few times before he could finally see what Xephos was doing. He was putting on a black⊠suit.
Jordan looked at the suit and looked up at Xephos, who looked incredibly guilty. This wasnât a normal white-out mission. Something was wrong, very wrong, and Xephos had to go fix it. The only problem was that tomorrow was their anniversary. Xephos had surprised him today by showing up early because everything had been incredibly calm and hey could actually celebrate together. No late dates, no missions, no apologies and broken promises.
Of course, something went wrong. It always did.
âJordan, Iâm-â Xephos started, fumbling for words but Jordan just held up a hand,
His heart hurt, but it was stupid to keep Xephos here, especially with something so important. It wasnât the alienâs fault, of course, but couldnât the two be selfish for once?
âHow bad?â He asked tiredly.
Xephos sighed. âIâŠI donât know. The guys are saying it isnât like anything theyâve ever seen, someone is already injured, I think.â He replied, stress and anxiety covered by a heavy blanket of guilt.
Jordan nodded, picking at the hem of the blue and white striped shirt he stole from Xephos. The blue was faded from wash and wear, various stains and holes from past adventures littering the fabric.
âJordan, Iâm sorry. Iâm so, so sorry.â Xephos said quietly.
Jordan didnât reply. It was fine, yet it wasnât okay. Every time this happened. But what could Xephos do about it? This was his role in the multiverse. He was a Suitor. And it wasnât as if Jordan could force him to stay, not when universes needed his help.
âJordan, please.â Xephos begged, turning toward him. His lamplight eyed were glowing brightly and his voice was choked with tears. Xephos didnât want to leave any more than Jordan wanted him to stay. But love and comfortable beds with alien night lights be damned.
ââŠjust go. Iâll be fine.â Jordan finally whispered, a lump in his throat forming.
âJordan-â
âPlease, just go.â
he tension was thicker than ice, but eventually Xephos stood up off the bed, grabbing his sword.
âIâm sorry. I love you.â He repeated.
It didnât make a difference. It only hurt worse.
Finally, after a few moment of pained silence, Xephos disappeared through his own rift before it closed behind him. All that remained was a cold bed and a broken heart, along with the shattered remains of promises made earlier in the night.

The Secret Weapon (Xephlez)
Summary: Xephos has volunteered for an unhealthy amount of missions, and the Yogs are growing concerned.
((Featuring @doctorbethanysartblog âs Suit AU)) _________________
Xephos had a small habit of taking things to far. Whether it be work, miscellaneous tasks, or doing things with his friends, he always had to go one step further.
Or in this case, a whole marathon forward.
They were all proud and happy for Xeph to be given the legendary position of a Suitor. It was one of the highest honors in the multiverse, and the Yogs couldnât think of anyone better for the job. However, they all knew eventually Xeph would start overworking himself.
Simon was the first to catch wind of his unhealthy behavior (he always was). Heâd wake up in the middle of the night to see Xephos stumble out of the portal in a white suit with blue blood dripping down his mouth and ugly bruises along his face. Then the alien would down a potion of healing and sleep for 3 hours before going back through. Heâd try talking to him about it, making only half-joking comments about Xephos being in over his head. The man just smiled and laughed, and would continue on with whatever plans they had made.
Sips and Sjin noticed when during a visit to the farm they found Xephos sleeping in the middle of the Ender Lily patch, propped up against a hoe. When they asked him why he was so tired, he would just shrug and say he had a mission the other night and forgot to have coffee the following morning.
Lalna himself knew it was all unhealthy, and he practiced many of the same habits. He gave Xephos some special brewed gin, hoping it would make him fall asleep, but it only gave the alien a hangover during his impromptu mission the following day.
âIt was just a small thing, investigating some rumors spread through different worlds. Nothing huge.â He would say, waving the situation off and grabbing a mug of coffee.
âIt isnât small, Xeph. You look like hell!â Simon had argued. Xephos only scowled before burying himself deeper in his coffee.
The dwarf sighed before grabbing Xephâs communication tablet. The alien looked up in surprise and made a motion to grab it, but Simon was already across the room and typing away at the transparent screen.
âWhat do you think youâre doing? Give that back!â Xephos sputtered out, standing up.
âIâm trying to help you, you psychotic bugger.â The dwarf muttered, focusing on his task.
âSimon, I really donât have the energy to fight you. Please give it back, I need it to get in contact with the others.â
âNope. Bringing out my secret weapon.â He said, finally pushing the âsendâ button.
âTaking away my tablet wonât make me stop working. Youâre only making me upset.â Xephos pouted.
Honeydew sighed and slid the tablet back over to him. âFine. Have it back.â He said before grinning. âBut Sparklez isnât going to be happy to find out you canceled on him to beat up ârumors.â
Xephos froze. âWhat? I donât have plans with-â He started before looking down at the tablet and gasping. Sure enough, a message had been sent to a contact named âMr. Sparkly Pantsâ Asking him to hang out with him the next day.
âSimon, no! Why!?â Xephos groaned. âIâm on standby for a possible mission tomorrow. What am I gonna do if they call?â
âAsk them to send someone else. Because if I canât ask you to relax, I know Sparklez will and I know youâll listen to him.â The dwarf said, his eyes filled with concern.
The alien slid back into his chair, grumbling into his arm. The dwarf smiled slightly, patting his arm. âBesides, when was the last timw youâve had a proper date since you got this job?â
Xephos sat up for a second as he thought carefully. He and Sparklez chatted all the time between missions, but they hardly ever saw eachother face to face anymore. Perhaps he has been a little too busy.
âAlright, Simon. You win. Iâll take a day off.â Xephos sighed, putting up his tablet.
Honeydew smiled. âGood. Now go to bed. Iâm not having Sparklez come over and you look like a disaster.â
Xephos smiled tiredly. âYes, I suppose youâre right.â
The dwarf smiled. âI always am.â
