Cocking her head to the side, she squinted her eyes. Woah, she hadn’t even noticed he was wearing the Yaso uniform….she must be offbeat today. Sighing, she wished the boy hadn’t been so deadpan…or blunt. Kinda rude, if you asked her.

His speech was slightly robotic; of course you couldn't really pick that up unless you had something to scan him with or you knew another ASSW. Otherwise, he seemed normal in a strange way. Like he was made to blend in; to not be noticed by others.

“What’s up with him…? All these manners…" He was different. In more ways than one, obviously. The chestnut colored eyes finally took some time to examine the boy’s features. The lack of expression in his face, the way his eyes were mysteriously bright regardless of the darkness that surrounds the two…

"H-Hey, there’s no need to say sorry… If you don’t like bubblegum, then that’s alright! You still did me a great favor… E-Excuse me, but may I ask your name?"

She had a lot of time to spare. Tomoe’s grandfather was probably fine, since she left everything in order before going to work, so why not take some time to introduce herself to the kind boy? Not that it was easy to act cool around someone so polite and collected…

                                "--My name?"

This was a first. No one had been interested in him before; nor had anyone had to ask for his name as all the lab staff knew him as his number. The one who gave him his name was-- No, there was no need to think about that now. The girl's smile sort of caught him off guard, regardless of how emotionless he was; the boy looked frankly surprised.

                                "... I suppose it would be alright... My name                                  is Hayato...I was told that is is polite to accept                                  gifts from people; so I will take this 'bubblegum'                                  as you call it. Thank you kindly. 'May I ask for                                  your name'?"

As if to mimic her, he repeated the question back; unaware that he was repeating what she said. Reaching over with thin fingers; he slowly took the strip of gum and examined it for a moment before unwrapping it.

\○ “O-Oh?” An unfamiliar voice approached her from behind, followed by a chill all across the girl’s body. 

“What’s up with the way he speaks…?" She thought to herself. That last sentence was rather intriguing. It sounded nothing like how everyone speaks at work or school.  Tomoe was just on her way home from work, after stopping by a friend’s house to ask for a book she had lent. 

… And that just happened to be what the boy held on his hand.

"M-My… Belongings? Oh, t-that’s right, the book! Thank you, umm… I-I’ll make sure to watch out…" She quickly put her hand inside the bag and got a little pack of bubblegum out of it; something she got at the store. "H-Here! You can have this! it’s not much, but…"

                                      "What--..."

The boy stopped speaking for a moment to look down at the object in the girls hand. Whatever it was,  it didn't exactly interest him. Pulling his bag up on his shoulder he slowly gazed past the girls hand and toward the ground; his green orbs looking off to the side sheepishly.

                                      "--...I am unsure of what that is...I do not                                        need anything in return. I was taught that                                        it is the right thing to do; to return what                                        others have lost."

Hopefully the girl would not question him for not knowing what the object in question was; he was sheltered, speech and reactions too quick to be human. But Hayato tried his best to blend in, to act 'normal' toward others; even though he had some obvious quirks.

                                     "... Sorry..."

                                          "--Excuse me, Miss..."

A cool, collected voice whispered out to the girl from behind. His eyes a bright emerald green, clear as the sky, watched her as he stood and waited for her to respond. Looking down at his hand, he slowly held out a book that had fallen from her bag; his face still and emotionless as he continued to speak. 

                                           "-- You dropped this. It is advised that you                                             watch your belongings. Someone may not                                             return what you have dropped next time.                                             So please do be cautious."

Rise stared at the boy…why was he wading in the water? She didn’t think anyone ever really did that…and how did he know the water temperature just like that? Shrugging her shoulders, she skipped down the stairs;

"Y’know nobody really gets in the water like that! I’m surprised you knew about the temperature so quickly.."

Giggling softly, she crouched on the ground putting her arms across her knees. She cheerily added; “There is a beach not to far from here! So don’t be too upset that the water isn’t so deep.”

It wasn't like he could tell her that he was a robot designed to exterminate shadows. Did she even know what those were? Thinking upon it now, most people didn't even know what a Persona was, let alone what shadows do to people. Shaking his head, he continued with his dead pan expression; or as the lab assistants called it, his 'default' face.

                               "That is a school uniform. Do you go to school here?                                 I am starting today at Yasogami High school. I was                                 told to go this way, but the river has caused me to go                                 off course..."

Walking alongside the river, the boy stared at it with slight fascination, as if he'd never seen so much water at once before. If he was being honest, then that statement would be true, as he'd only seen small puddles of water; nothing large like this. There was a strong desire building within' him to go and touch it, so the male put his bag down and slid down the hill with great ease, taking off his shoes and placing his feet in the water. Synthetic skin easing into the water; bottoms of his feet resting upon soft rocks that had been etched down by the liquid until they were smooth.

Hayato slowly turned, piercing green orbs staring up at the girl above the bank who watched him down below, his face not registering any emotion as he called to her.

                              "--....The water is exactly 54 Degrees...                                It is acceptable to swim in this river;                                although it is much to shallow I see...                                A shame, as they say."

Hayato slowly looked away, his green orbs looking for something. He looked slightly bitter, if only for a moment; it showed rather clearly on his deadpan face but soon returned as such. It wasn't like he didn't want to share the needed info, it was more like he couldn't.

                                 "I am sorry. But there are other things I                                   could tell you, if you are interested. Do                                   you have other questions for me?"
