Good Timezone Time Everyone!!

First of all, we want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! to everyone who applied to be on the moderation team, as well as to those who filled out the interest check. The turn out has been astonishing, and both of the admins are absolutely stoked to see how many people are excited for the event!!

We've been talking it over, and have decided to split the event into two distinct groups, as to insure that as many people as possible can join in the celebration of our favorite space boy crossover pairing!!!

Participating Vs. Contributing

These are the terms we'll be using to describe the two different ways to engage with this event, each with specific parameters and different requirements. This post is to explain everything that YOU will need to know about how to join (and don't worry, this will be our new pinned post!)

So, what's the difference between participating and contributing?

Participants are the main creators for the event. These are the people who will be sorted into teams with 1 writer, 1 artist, and 1-2 beta readers, all working towards the same fanwork.

Requirements of being a participant:

- MUST BE 18+

- Filling out the application form (don't worry, this is primarily for administrative purposes)

- Joining the discord server

- Working with a team

- Posting work to the Ao3 collection at the end of the event

- adhere to the event's rules

Contributors have far less requirements and will not be working on teams, unless you choose to work with a buddy. Contributors will have the option to post their work alongside the event, while not directly participating in it.

Requirements of being a contributor:

- Posting a bloodymary centric fanwork to a designated Ao3 additional tag at the time of the event's end

That's it. You don't have to be 18+ or work with others (unless you want to, and coordinate it yourself) in order to still engage with the event and celebrate our space blorbos. An important note for contributors: your work will not be featured in the Ao3 collection, as the collection is for the participants only and will be facilitated through the discord. Your work will, however, be discoverable through the event's specific additional tag in Ao3's tagging system. A follow up post with instructions will be made closer to posting day, don't worry :>

So what will it all look like when it's said and done?

- an Ao3 collection full of participant team fanworks

- an NSFW specific Ao3 collection of participant team fanworks

- an event specific Ao3 Additional tag, tagged on contributor works made to be posted alongside the event

My take on Keyleth’s Timeless Body feature for @artists-guild-of-exandria’s Spells n Stuff showcase! If you want a slightly more detailed breakdown of some of the thought processes behind each panel, check out my thread here on my twitter.

As a general overview- The panels are all separated but sewn together by the threads of fate, still connecting the party. Each of the panels (except for Vax’s) have a prominent raven or feather within them, and they all have flowers, to signify visits from both Vax and Keyleth. I’ve tried to match up the flowers in each with some fittingly meaningful plant- Vax has his Snowdrops, while Scanlan has a Juniper bonsai. Grog’s flower is a Chamomile, which means Energy in Adversity, while Percy’s Edelweiss means Devotion and Courage (and translates to Royal+White).

I had a *lot* of fun with this piece, especially trying to add in little details! Keyleth’s long lifespan has been on my mind for *years*, and I’m glad I finally managed to draw something that captures that a little bit!

Pike and Grog

Grog had lived with Wilhand for several weeks before he worked up the nerve to talk to Pike. He still felt guilty over what he did, but Wilhand forgave him, maybe she would too.

“Uh. Hey there.” He found her out in her grandpas garden.

“Oh!” She jumped a little at his presence. “Hi!” She smiled brightly at him. “We haven’t met properly. I’m Pike! It’s Grog, right?”

“Uh, yup! That’s me!”

“Nice to finally meet you!” She had a very friendly face, and Grog immediately felt comfortable around her.

“Whatcha doin out here?”

“Just tending some of the veggies.” She gestured to the tomato bush beside her. “Wanna help?”

“I dunno if I can really. I ain’t got much of a gentle touch.” He held up his hands.

“Oh come on! It’s easy!” She flashed her big friendly smile again and Grog was convinced.

They worked in the garden together for hours. Pike giving gentle instructions to him as they went. She didn’t make Grog feel like a big scary Herd member, but like a friend. It was nice. Grog wanted that friendly feeling around forever.

“How’d you learn that… glowy stuff?” He asked as they finished their work.

“It’s a bit of a long story.” She touched the pendant at her throat. “The short version is, the Everlight gave it to me. And in return I fight for her. And goodness.” She was so passionate the way she talked.

“Well, I dunno who this Ever Bright lady is, but if she helped you I break my face she’s pretty cool.” Pike laughed. A loud, full belly laugh.

“Yeah she’s cool.” She nudged him with her elbow. “Hey! There’s some apples down in the field just that way.” She pointed over to a clearing down the mountain. “Wanna help me get some for Poppop?”

“Sure.” He didn’t think twice when he lifted her up onto his shoulder. “Here ya go. Now you can reach ‘em.”

“Ha! Thanks, Buddies.” She pat his head. “I should keep you around.”

“Really?”

“Yeah! Why not? If Poppop likes you I don’t have any reason not to.” Grog smiled, and the two moved between the trees collecting only the nicest apples for Wilhand to make a pie with.

As night fell, the two were walking back to the cottage, laughing until their bellies hurt. Telling jokes and Pike sharing stories. Wilhand waited for them at the door with a warm smile on his face. Glad the two had bonded.

Yeah, Grog could get used to having a best friend like Pike.

The Trickfoot family has owned the local drugstore in a tiny town for generations, with Wilhand being one of the most famous faces in town. They sell pretty much anything you might need, from cold medicine to candy, and the Trickfoots know nearly everyone in town.

Pike plans on taking over the business when Wilhand passes, but for now, she spends her time in college in the town over, making the commute on the weekends to help out where she can. It's an easy, painfully boring commute, but she spends the time listening to her favorite radio programming, DJed by a man from a city hours away who uses the name Scanlan Shorthalt.

One of those days, on the edge of that old country road, she finds a man with a stalled car, looking in a complete panic as he tries and fails to find the problem. He's buff, bigger than she's ever seen, and when she stops to look again, the first thing that catches her attention is the massive black eye that seems still fresh, barely hiding the other scars on his face.

He says his name is Grog, and he had to leave his uncle's nearby farm in a hurry after... Something he didn't want to discuss. She patched him up and called Wilhand, who got him back to their house and made sure his car got off the road safely. He was still clearly afraid, but they were happy to help him.

So when the town heard, and news spread of a wanted man named Kevdak, those who cared for the Trickfoots took things up their own way, and soon enough, Grog had a small army making sure whoever did this to him would face justice, and never be able to hurt the town's new beloved member again.

When Wilhand finishes healing her wounds, he kisses Pike's forehead, "You okay, kiddo?"

Pike huffs, looking down at her bruised knuckles. "Yeah." It's not the first time she and Grog have gotten into a fight together. Grog was just protecting her from a stupid fucking bully and she in turn was trying to stop him from fighting. And maybe she hit a few people on the way out.

Wilhand sighs, "Go to your room, Pike. We'll talk about this tomorrow."

Pike nods. With a soft apology to her grandad, Pike slides off the couch and pads out of the living room to the bedroom she shares with Grog. The goliath in question is already laying on his bed, his injuries healed and bandaged up.

Instead of going to her own bed, Pike climbs onto his, tucking herself against his side. "Don't move a muscle," she tells him. "You'll crush me if you roll over."

Grog wraps an arm around her, "You okay, Pikey?"

"I'm okay," she sighs.

"You know what they said about you isn't true, right?" Grog asks. "You're way better then all that. You're the best person in the whole world."

Pike smiles and hugs him as much as she can, "Thank you. But it's hard not to get that all stuck in my head."

"Well then I'll just remind you every day until that sticks in your head even more," Grog declares.

"I love you, buddy."

"Love you too, Pikey," Grog kisses her head.
