Summary: 

For better or for worse, Whale Island has become a popular vacation destination over the last few years. On the upside, Gon always has a summer job as a lifeguard; it’s a fulltime gig keeping tourists clear of the island’s strong rip currents. On the downside, his island is having its homes gobbled up by investors, and there’s a rumor that half of downtown is going to be bought up and bulldozed to make way for a luxury resort. Some real estate tycoon named Silva Zoldyck has been making pitches across the archipelago. Gon dislikes the man on principle, and by a twist of fate, he ends up saving Zoldyck’s son from drowning.

(In Killua Zoldyck’s defense, he’s a city boy and oceans don’t work like pools.)

Summary: Phinks makes a choice he had no idea was on the plate, and, on September 3rd, the Phantom Troupe gathers to find their leader is no longer.

A five-years-old crouches in his place, stubbornly holding back tears as his earrings bruises frail skin.

Snippet:

The door to the living room was pushed open. More darkness and shadows streamed inside than light. It was usually the opposite in movies. He would have been the little beast or surprise the harsh spill of light would lighten up for the heroes to find. To be killed by or marvel at. 

But these heroes were his surprise now. 

“Wait a—shut up. Look at that.” 

“… What?”

“Whose brat is this?”

Chrollo’s hands tightened around the shirt that kept him covered, the cloth having warmed up in all those minutes ago that had started feeling like hours. The heaviness became a shield and an embrace all in one. 

The phone was still too big in his arms. He held it like a companion. 

He didn’t recognize his own voice when it tumbled out, trembling out of him as a deer’s legs would. 

Yet, it was the first time in so long that it matched his thoughts and heart. 

Was it the voice he didn’t recognize, or the fear and fragility lacing it? 

“It’s me.”
