solace worked as both a guise and a method of a stable income, the former more prominent in the eyes of the moon family. behind the closed doors, the vip room to be exact, laid numerous cards on the table, decks stacked behind the curtain only to be drawn out under the faux hope of winning big. gleaming lights that barely manage to seep past the outside world, solace, a divided two that comes a part as soon as his own hues glisten up.
solace, a personified identity of greed and guilt, lathering atop one another, forcing an insatiable desire to dig its claws into his flesh. ahh, how mighty gets mightier, never helping the weak. and he was guilty, oh so guilty, guilty of the fate that was handed to him as a single hangs from his lips, fingers barely making contact as he stands beside the no smoking sign. a rule that he enforces strictly and harshly, but never onto himself. he is the exception. he is the god within the confines of his reach. the moon’s reach.
he takes a moment to gaze around him, his cigarette falling to the back of the scene as it blends in with all the lights and the chaos of what ever else glows at night. he places his still lit cigarette onto the counter, as smoke encompasses his lower vision for a second, darkened hues gleaming past the haze as he moves through the crowd and towards the exit. before he could make it any further than a few steps, he feels an arm tugging onto his own, he manages to turn on his heel as his gaze moves to match up with the culprit. it takes a moment before the situation settles in his mind, but help? help with what? the tone of her voice, panic evident and somewhat tense. did she get robbed? mugged? felt up? lost someone?
before following after the other, he turns back briefly, gesturing for the guards to survey the area with more care.
as soon as he makes it out of the club, he takes a quick whiff of the fresh air, the night’s zephyr tousling his hair ever so slightly, as strands flicker beneath the dimly lit lights of the hwang geum streets. he turns to the girl before him, a brow raising, “are you looking for someone?” he glances around, not seeing a soul nor a silhouette, he assumes it was all some kind of misunderstanding or at least an overreaction on her end.
sheila was not blindly moving, even if it always felt like one never had its footing in these places. always too loud, always too dark. faces never managed to convey their intentions and the screaming part did not help in distinguishing the slimiest of intentions from the good ones. she always felt like too much could go wrong in a small amount of time whenever there was a crowd and music in one place. let alone a club. a little box. filled with people. canned like sardines. gross.
okay, no, sheila loved clubbing, don’t listen to her dramatic inner rant. right now though, it was making her dizzy and pushing the door to the exit made her take in a much needed breath. some fresh air always made everything feel ten times lighter. right until the person she’d dragged with her spoke and sheila blinked and spun on her heels. “yes!” she was, and now the air was missing from her lungs again because she could have sworn it’d been this exit.
if it wasn’t this one and she got the wrong one, they might not make it on time. “okay, okay, okay.” her hands moved with the words and she turned to fully face the man standing in front of her. find ground, don’t panic, do.not.panic.
“my friend, a girl, petite, rose gold dress, pink hair, very long, she was with me in the booth and then she wasn’t and then these pictures on my phone,” she shook said device, as if that made the rambling ensuing more coherent, “this large distorted pixel looking guy was putting something, in the drink, like you know those movies where they prey on vulnerable girls, it was a blurry zoom in, but she left with him. right, she left with him, here, they were here, i am sure they were or are, they are somewhere !! oh my god, he’s probably already--” okay, no, pause. “that piece of sleazy son of a filthy fudge better not have hurt her !! but what the hell are you security guards even working for here ??”
because clearly they should be posted at every exits for things like that to be caught. not that she knew for sure that security had that listed in their given tasks, but why would that not be included at all given the numerous amount of times girls all over the world go through this?
