weâre all minhyuk
countdown to jaehyunâs birthday: D-6 â jaehyunâs dimples âĄ
adults are always talking about how âkids will do anything to get out of schoolâ and okay, first of all thatâs not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.
childrenâs brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.
couple things here:
multiple things can actually be bad at the same time
Iâm 32
couple more things:
Little kids really arenât equipped to work full time without damaging their physical, mental, and emotional development and health, and when you play the âbut adults work all day!â card you sound like a nineteenth century textile baron.
Highschoolers can easily be âworkingâ 40+ hours a week, between school, homework, and extracurriculars and/or part-time work, and still hear this smug â:/ wait til you get to the real world sweatyâ rhetoric all the time.
The original claim here wasnât even âschool is too hard,â it was âschool is failing to perform its most basic function,â which is different.
from an adult point of view:
- When my work day is done, itâs done. I donât need to spend hours each night to study or do homework.Â
- I donât have tests and exams.
- I MAKE MONEY.Â
Sometimes Iâll be at home and start freaking out that I havenât done any homework yet before I realize âWait Iâm 30.â
Or Iâll be asleep dreaming that Iâm at school but suddenly realize at the end of the semester that Iâve missed all my classes and donât know whatâs going on
School/homework has to be a stressful thing if it gives people anxiety and nightmares over a decade after graduation.
On a serious note: I agree with all of this.
On another note âyou sound like a 19th century textile baronâ is my new fave insult.
[12:14 AM] You are sitting on your bed, sleepily sharing food with Jaehyun while this song plays around you. Jaehyun sometimes sings over Deanâs voice, making you shiver all over.
tea parties should be more common. letâs sit down and enjoy the afternoon with sum tea n lemon cookies. maybe wear pretty dresses or lovely suits or groovy overalls, yk? in the tea party, we r safe and loved. have a cookie.
Iâm...Iâm sorry, I just this minute realized that there are people out there who have no idea that Heinz Doofenshmirtz is the best fictional father out there. You guys donât mind if I bombard your entire dashboard with proof right? Excellent.
BONUS: Doofenshmirtz around children he literally just met who wrecked his âinatorâ.
Literally I could go on and on with examples but my computerâs starting to crash from the amount of images.
The point is that Heinz Doofenshmirtz is the greatest fictional father out there and anyone who says otherwise was hit by a Lie-inator.

Japanese vocab with Yuzuru - Day 2
Another interesting topic is Yuzuruâs mentality towards challenges and overcoming his limits. So here we have 3 of my favourite words that Yuzuru mentions a lot:
1. éćąïŒăăăŁăăăïœgyak-kyou): adversity
What he said after his disappointing performance at NHK 2014 (x at 0:36):
Y: éćąăć«ăăăăȘăïŒăăăŁăăăăăăăăăăȘăïœgyak-kyou ga ki-rai-ja-nai) - I donât hate adversity/hardships
(such a precious gif here cause I like this quote and remembered every word he said but it took forever to find the original video >___<)
2. ææŠïŒăĄăăăăïœchou-sen): to challenge, try, or attempt something
This is actually a very common word, I donât know about others in Team Japan but at least both Yuzuru and Shoma use this word when talking about their plan before the season/a competition a lot.
3. èȘČéĄïŒăă ă | ka-dai): problem, challenge (many meanings but Yuzuru mainly uses this meaning)
A short scene from an interview with Matsuoka-san after NHK 2014 where he was talking about the challenges he faced after recovering from COC2014 (x):
M: èȘČéĄăć„œăă§ăăïŒ(ăă ăăăăă§ăă ?ïœka-dai, su-ki desu-ka?)   Y: èȘČéĄăć€§ć„œăă§ăă(ăă ăăă ăăăă§ăïœka-dai, dai-su-ki desu)     Â
which can be translated to
M:Â Do you like challenges? Y: I love challenges.
He further explained:âBecause, once youâve overcome that (challenge), thereâs definitely gonna be something âhigherâ, right? And then thereâs something even higher than that one.â #quotes-everywhere #foodforthought
Note:Â
1. I try to find a sample video for the words so you can try to listen and familiarize yourself with how itâs pronounced and put into sentences (the gifs are just there as backup in case the vid links are broken in the future). So do help yourself with some high-quality quotes with a made-in-Sendai stamp :)))
2. I include the (hiragana reading | romanized reading) next to each word. If you are not familiar with the Japanese alphabet, check out how to read hiragana here as itâll be very useful :D

Concept: You walk outside one night and notice that there are two full moons. A few hours go by and they donât seem to move.
You stare up at them.
They blink.
You blink back. Itâs only polite to return the greeting of the Big Night Cat.
I meant for this to be all spooky and ominous, but fuck it, this is way better. I love the Big Night Cat. She is beautiful. I support her.
hand slipped so heres a gif

just because you donât look like somebody who you think is attractive doesnât mean you arenât attractive. flowers are pretty but so are christmas lights and they look nothing alike
I donât think anyone couldâve said it in a better way
I reblog these things in the hope that someday I will grow to believe them.Â
