She learned enough to survive. But one could only live so much off of dumpster food and alley animals. She was dirty and feral looking - two ears that belonged to that of some sort of canine sprouted on top of her head , and that tail that she did not bother to hide. 

And so far , she’d been so lucky , not running into any trouble with any of the people that contributed to the sea of others that came into the city. She had more luck with the alley dogs. 

Clawed hands grip at what was obviously the strangers , but once it hit the ground it was fair game. Eyes show determination , no matter how dangerous this man might have been , she needed to survive , and from what she understood anything could be sold , bought for money , and as she had no idea what it was she was so desperately holding onto , Honi wanted it , and she wasn’t going to give up --

New arrivals were only mostly rare occurrences. Being the Voice of Night Vale — the sole provider of news, it was expected for him to address any and every new citizen. It was also expected for him to know of the arrival before anyone else. It was also expected for him to rally the welcoming yet invasive angry mob. It wasn’t expected for the new resident to find him before he found them, and it wasn’t expected for him to be used as a meat shield.

“Oh, that’s just our nest of owls—every radio station has one! They usually aren’t confrontational, but they are territorial, so it’s best to observe from afar.”

🐺    fangs are bared , the sound of growling was harsh , like if said ‘ owl ‘ took one wrong step , she would end up tearing him to shreds in an animalistic manner. She’d confronted creatures like this before , but she only heard one living in the woods all those years , but this was the first time she had seen one with her own two eyes. And the feral child would have went to try and catch the avian , if she had not been with this man for a time prior , who she was currently holding onto , almost in a protective manner. She would never admit that she was scared , even if it looked like she were.

When the male was greeted with silence, he felt the need to change his tactic of approach. Softening his features, he flashed her the most soothing smile he could muster. 

❛ I’m Yuki Sohma, a cousin of Hatori’s. ❜ Yuki began, firming his posture before taking a low bow. Showcasing his respect and lack of threat unto the other, or he hopes it seemed like so. In their customs it were like that. Straightening his back, he took one last look around the place before settling his gaze back towards the younger female.

❛ Though it seems he isn’t around as of the moment, I apologize for the intrusion. ❜  He added in a gentle manner. 

Ears are perked at the mention of the caretaker and for a moment , defenses are lowered , but she does not stop staring at him like he’s a threat. Expression is softened - and there’s the slight and unsure wag of the tail. 

She feels herself becoming less on guard when his familiar name leaves the others’ lips. She knows he had gone out , but she does not know where ( maybe he went in that thing that was called a ‘car’ ) Eyes follow where he looks , and for a moment , she thinks and watches , before looking him up and down , copying his mannerisms , and standing up straight as well ( as best she could anyway ) 

“ not here. “ she says , her words are jumbled but , obviously pointing out the fact that Hatori wasn’t home - like he hadn’t figured it out already.
