REDEVELOPING THE WALTER REED CAMPUS WITH A COMMUNITY-DRIVEN ARTS AND CULTURE TRIBUTE.

Flicker: This piece offers a different perspective on this idea of change and loss of control. A single flame like many other things is unpredictable in the way in moves and responds to its surroundings. This ink drawing traces the meticulous motion in a single flame. Each drawing captures 5 minutes of motion in one continuous line.
Six Attempts to Relinquish Control: In this project I solicited prompts for random actions from friends and family, with the intentions of relinquishing control and instigating spontaneity.
Transformation: This piece demonstrates the struggles during times of transition, particularly from a structured, consistent environment. The origami style is reflective of the comfort we often find in the straightforward, predictable manner that we live. The skin of the bird is a compilation of various assignments and notes. The bird form represents a deviation from this environment. The piece as a whole embodies a transformative experience.
Denver Children's Hospital Aurora Robot Show
Hacked Xbox Kinect V1 using openkinectforprocessing. Thanks Daniel Shiffman! Used its motion sensing capabilities to control R2D2's position. All aethetics were created in Processing. I made this interactive piece as a visiting artist at Good Theives Press Gallery for a robot themed art show at the Denver Children's Hospital Aurora.
Immortality is bane
Force sensitive resistors
Used to activate shooting star animation.
Project Statement: For this interactive digital project I intended to create a piece where viewers can share the experience in being a part of the work. I used force sensors controlled with Arduino that I then converted via Firmata into Processing. The twinkling stars in the background, I also created in Processing. When BOTH sensors are activated a shooting star travels across the ceiling. The fact that two people are required to activate the shooting start sends a significant message and supports a the joined experience.

Experimental glitch sound and visuals.
Project Statement:
In my fervent sifting through countless micro-genres on the internet I came across glitch art and sound. Glitch art is based off of utilizing the errors and unintentional “glitches” in media. The sound are all found media mistakes including static, beeping, error messages, etc and consolidated in Audacity where I continued to edit the sounds for this experimental project. I used a single image that I “glitched” over and over to make many glitch images. I did this using text edit code manipulation. I brought the sound and visual components together for this exceptionally interesting piece.
