Turns out it was Dorinku's 3 year anniversary. $3 sapporo sleeves and $3 appies (3 types). My tuna tartare was ok but could have used 1 more crunchy piece maybe. King salmon carpaccio was yummy. 3 sisters dessert platter: coffee jelly needed more coffee flavor, panna cotta was good, almond jelly was good but I personally wasn't a fan of the sauce on top. Date night at Chop. Just in time for their lobster fest! Liked the basil pesto on my lobster, it went well with the mashed potatoes. I didn't splurge on the lobster mash because I knew I wouldn't be able to finish my sides (as usual). Didn't realize until this time round that Chop served organic steak. Steak bites were tasty. I liked it without sauce, the dijon sauce was good but overpowering, the horse radish ranch I liked more if I had to pick a sauce. An enjoyable lunch at Braven. Since it was a Friday afternoon it wasn't that busy at the time. Also their music was apparently out of order today so I can't really say it will be quiet when it is on or not. The beef tartare was good but it was missing some seasoning. Missing some cracked black pepper maybe. Skinny fries were tasty with the dipping sauce. I really liked the cream of mushroom soup. A fun meal with friends. So much food that there will be a part 2 to this post. Shared a number of appetizers (brussel sprouts, pork cheeks, pickle plate, mussels). I had the ginger kombucha, lamb, caveman coffee but also got to try the beef rib and rib eye as well. My only mediocre expectations were disappointed. Salad was good. Chicken karaage was ok. Kalbi pieces were in prety small pieces which makes it easy to eat I guess but the portion was a bit small. Other meats were either under seasoned or overseasoned. With the options we have in the city for grilling for similar pricing, I found it disappointing.
