She quickly let go of his leg and started to slightly quiver.

“Oh okay, Im sorry Mr. Axel.” She looked up intently at him.

Xion let out a small scream once he grabbed her , but once she realized she was safe she giggled and followed closely behind the man.

Xion began to lick at her ice cream , successfully getting it all over her face as well as in her mouth.

“My ice cream is good!Thank you.” She replied while hopping up and down before hugging Axel’s leg.

Axel stopped dead in his tracks and looked down at the girl.

“Oi, don’t that. We don’t do that, okay? You’re gonna stain my clothes with ice-cream if you’re not careful.”

She giggled trying to get her spirits up again. ” I hope they’re coming soon. Its almost nap time.”

The girl looked up to see what the older man was offering. Ice cream. That was a definite yes. But hadn’t her mom told her not to take candy from strangers?Then again ice cream wasn’t candy , and he wasn’t a stranger.

“Yes please!” She nodded quickly.

Axel held Xion from under her armpits to help her land safely in the ground, and then he stood up and walked with the little girl towards the ice cream shop. Five minutes later, the man was the proud owner of a chocolate ice-cream cone.

“I haven’t bought one of these in ages,” he said giving it a lick. “How’s your ice cream, kid?”

” No..I was walking with them in the store down the isle then they turned the isle and were gone. But they are coming soon to get me right?” She was starting to look worried now. Her 6 year old imagination getting the better of her. What if they had totally forgotten having a daughter at all?

“Of course they’ll come soon,” Axel assured looking around discretely again. For some reason he was starting to feel uneasy about the whole thing. Something wasn’t right, but he couldn’t tell what was happening.

“Nah, don’t worry. It’s all good,” Axel said patting her head softly. He couldn’t let the girl know what was he really thinking because she would start crying again, but then he found the perfect distraction.

The redhead smilled a little as he spotted the ice cream shop in front on them. “Wanna get something?” he asked pointing towards the establishment.
