What was once a beautiful city full of light and life has now faded into a shell of itself, empty of the wonders that had made it the hub of its world. Halcyon has been ruled by five deities for many centuries, each one gifted in a different way to make up their unique pantheon. In years recent, however, the light of Halcyon began to flicker and dim. The people that once made up the world began to disappear, and the deities lost most of their strength as a result. In an attempt to save them from disappearing altogether, Elora used what remained of her power to bestow a final gift to her companions: the ability to save a mortal life as it was about to be extinguished by bringing them to Halcyon from their own worlds. Their magic would reach a soul in peril and transport their physical form to the once-renowned city, using a connection that they felt was strong due to the mortal's powers, personality, motivations, etc. There was just one issue that Elora had not been able to sort out since developing the magic...

Any powers that these mortals possessed would be stripped from them upon their arrival, leaving them unable to defend themselves with their usual methods or travel out of Halcyon back to their home worlds. Since beginning this process, the Goddess has been working tirelessly to reserve the flaw, but without anywhere else to go, the people the deities have saved are effectively trapped in this world for the time being...
