Erin smiled when she took his arm and bid farewell to her mother. I’ll be fine mother, he won’t hurt me. Go join the others, she said mentally to the other woman. The night was beautiful and she was amazed by all the different colors of the night sky.

She looked at him when he made her a question, “I have, everything here is different from Midgard, I dare say more beautiful and civilized. I’m certain I’ll enjoy my life here.” She paused for a moment and looked at him, “I do not know what are my father’s plans but I hope that after we win this war our marriage is not dissolved. I have a feeling we’ll be very happy, despite everything that may still happen.”

She sighed deeply letting go of his arm, “Will you have to fight my prince? I would be devastated if I had to become a widow so soon. Those creatures, they are vicious and have no mercy.”

“All these wars and battles you speak of, truly at this moment it all means nothing to me. We are to be married soon, we should be celebrating the future, not dreading it,” he replied, looking to her with a smile on his lips.

When she left his side, he stood still with his hands folded in front of him. “I will fight if I must,” Loki said in a clipped tone, “though I do not wish to. There are no winners in war, only those who lose the least.”

The elf princess’ rosy lips parted at his words. She was surprised, but happy again. She smiled softly and bowed her head. “It’s quite alright.” She simply said and kept looking at the moon. “This is a beautiful spot here in the gardens, away from all the noise and arrogance.” She chuckled slightly. She turned her attention back to Loki. “You are welcome to sit with me, if you’d like..” She said.

Loki remained silent when she didn’t look at him. She seemed to not be enjoying his company for the time being, and wasn’t about to begin anything past an apology. However, when she asked him to join her, he was suddenly captivated by her voice. It was smooth and light and beautiful to his ears. She looked lovely in the moonlight, and in that moment, he was willing to push past all of his dislikes of interaction with others to get to know this woman.

“You honor me,” he replied to her, trying to be as subtle as he could. “Do you mind me asking for your name, my lady?” he asked her, sitting down in the sandy grass beside her. He was careful, however, to leave space between them.

Loki watched as she retreated from him and went deeper into the gardens. Truthfully, he hadn’t wanted to upset her, only not to get caught up in any potential evil plots she may have.

For a moment he stood there by the fountain, letting the water he had been manipulating fall back in, and finally sighed, looking over his shoulder in her direction. It was late, and darkness was quickly taking over. Against his desire to be alone, he went after the woman until he came upon her. “My lady, please forgive my rudeness,” he offered to her, arms placed nicely behind his back as he stood before her.

Loki didn’t say anything, he only wrapped his arms around her and carried her down the hall to their bedroom where he shut the door with his foot. All the while, he kissed her, desperate to taste more and more of her. He was trying to find if anything was different than he remembered it from their last time spent together, but so far to his enjoyment, he found nothing had changed. She was still the lovely woman that he had married those years ago.
