While he didn’t really need the sleep in the first place, Peter couldn’t help but still miss it. As strange as that even sounded, but it was nice to just get away from his thoughts for a little bit. He had a feeling that after everything happened though, his dreams were going to turn into nightmares. Reliving what happened on Titan and when he thought he might have been dying during the alien attack. He had those thoughts when he wasn’t sleeping, he imagined that those would only be amplified if he were asleep. Maybe the fact that they didn’t need sleep was more of a blessing rather than a curse. But it was different for everyone, some people could even keep their eyes closed for a duration of time to get as much ‘sleep’ as they could. Even when he was back in Queens, Peter never really got enough sleep in the first place, spending too much time patrolling. Who needed eight hours of sleep anyways?
A small frown consumed his facial features as he listened to the woman speak, “I think I’m okay? I’m alive, that’s a start. We all survived the attack, well most of us at least.” He still wasn’t sure where Maria was, he just hoped that she was still alive, that she had made it back to New York. “I’m not really alone, I kind of have a group with Mr. Lord, Star-Lord. Why, are you alone? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you joined us, there’s safety in numbers.” he said, tilting his head to the side as he looked at her. “Peter.” he replied, accepting her extended hand and shaking it.
❝Nice to meet you Peter❞ Lorna said with a smile, he looked so young, no older than the kids she had helped train while she still led the mutant underground. She had not found any of them, yet, the key was the word yet, but she still hoped they had survived whatever had brought them all here. Thanos. She had learn about the person, the being, responsible for all of this. Lorna knew it was not the time or place but she wanted to scream at Tony Stark and Steve Rogers for thinking that Thanos only concerned them. If they had involved the X-men, maybe they would’ve had a better chance. She pushed those feelings away and focused on what was happening now.
❝Yeah I wondered if we could really die in this place, better we didn’t have to find out right?❞ the alien attack had shook every single person in this place, it had come without warning and it still lingered in the back of their minds. ❝The ones that went through the rift… yeah❞ she knew exactly how the boy felt, she wasn’t sure if he knew Scott but more likely the woman who had also gone through. ❝At least we can be sure that wherever they went to, they will try to get us all out…❞ at least Cyclops, and going from the way people talked about the woman, Lorna was willing to bet she would too.
The name Star-Lord seemed familiar, ❝Starlord, that’s Peter’s, well the other Peter, codename right?❞ Lorna smiled at the young boy, ❝he brought me here when I wasn’t in the mood to be around people, reminded me that there’s safety in numbers… he even gave me one of those things to help me sleep❞ she pointed towards her bedside table. ❝Are you in the mood for talking or you wanna go back to sleep?❞ Lorna asked sudennly feeling chatty, it wasn’t like her to make small talk, let alone wanting to keep talking, but there was something about the boy, a gentleness that kept her wanting to know more about him. ❝What’s your story Peter?❞
