HI THERE

Ahhh I’m so sorry I haven’t been online at all. Completely dead. I’ve been busy with school since it has started again and I really have to give it my all since it’s my exam year! (does that even make sense? lmao). With that being said, my muse has also been completely dead the last few weeks even though I really want to answer the threads. I finally got myself to write this quick lil message for you peeps even though you probably didn’t miss me that much. So uhm yeah, this is a quick hiatus notice?? “Yes, yes. Off you go.” Kou chuckled, taking a hand to his forehead where she’d just flicked at him as he turned around. Upon looking at the mess however, he really did consider burying himself down rather than cleaning up. Neverthless, he grabbed the essential equipment and began removing the pancake batter of a mess.

After taking a quick shower and trying to clean the shirt as best as she could in the sink, Aiko looked around his room for the pile of clothes Kou had mentioned before. The pile had to be around here somewhere.. Oh wait, there it was. Walking over, she picked out a random shirt after checking if it was oversized on her. She quickly rushed back downstairs again, almost falling off the stairs in the process, there were probably some loud thuds audible.

However she managed to get downstairs safely, minus the mini heart attacks she had on her way there, she peeked into the kitchen while panting softly.

‘’Y-Yo how’s it going with the cleaning? Here, let me help you.’’

“It’s called The Sleeping Wolf! We’re..maybe two blocks down from here! Actually, give me a second-!” Reaching into her vest, she pulled out a business card and handed it to Aiko with a bright smile. “Please do come by! I’ll remember your face! And ask for Xion! That’s me by the way. I work all night, usually everyday!” The woman chattered. “I can serve a good drink!” The bartender seemed so enthusiastic! 

“I’d love to see you down there,miss! Only if you’re comfortable, that is!”

The Sleeping Wolf? Cool name, she probably wouldn’t forget that, however she happily accepted the buisiness card which was handed over to her with a soft ‘thank you’. Inspecting the card for a little bit, she then put it away in a pocket to continue with the scanning of the products.

‘’Ah, Xion, huh? Interesting name, very nice! I’ll definitely visit.’’

Her enthusiasm was really contagious as she couldn’t stop having a bright smile on her face. She never really went out to places like that, maybe she should bring along Hanako.. Well, let’s just see how it’ll turn out, at least she had something to look forward to now!

Pascal’s focus was all on his target for the time being. His gaze did seem to drift towards the girl, only to keep an eye on here, but he decided that maybe she was good and on his side in all this. The enemy of my enemy is a friend, right? And it was a good thing it didn’t matter if he killed this man or not, as long as his life was cut short, things would be at peace.

He clicked his tongue in annoyance as the man stepped back. If the thief was focusing on him, that blood loss would eventually get to him. Waiting it out didn’t seem like a bad idea, but since this guy was going to attack, he might as well to. Dodging the thief’s initial stab was far too simple. He was even able to get a strike of his own on this guy. “Gotta be better than that,” the younger remarks.

As his gaze flickers back to the girl for a moment, seeing that deadly weapon in hand- he definitely does not want to end up being sliced by it. He remained in the man’s vision, taunting him by having a cocky look and motioning to come forward. As the man tried to stab the other again, Pascal was dodging, he continued to do so until he figured the girl was close enough to do her damage. So, to allow her to swing that weapon of hers, he jumped back away from the thief, hoping this was enough distance to spare him.

With each step nearing the thief, she quickly glanced over at the other to calculate if he’d get hit too if she’d swing the huge blade. Fortunately, he had noticed what she was trying to do and jumped out of the way after he had distracted the ‘poor’ guy. Not bad, not bad at all, he was quite flexible and had good reflexes, dodging the thiefs’ attacks with ease. Though, it had been long enough now, time to end it once and for all.

Running at her vicitim, she turned as she swiftly swung the weapon with just the right amount of power. It almost looked elegant, like a pirouette even, not literally of course but it was a similar motion. Scraping her foot over the grass she came to a halt, a soft thud audible as the head fell on the ground, its lifeless body following shortly after. He probably hadn’t even felt it, well, at least she hoped so for the guy.

‘’And so, another life has ended. Oh well, it was bound to happen..’’

Even if she hadn’t done this simple attack, he probably wouldn’t have survived his injuries anyway. If he had the power left to flee, she could’ve thrown a small blade in the back of his knees, eventually resulting in an easy kill. And if those didn’t happen, the black haired pal here was probably going to go after him or something. She took a deep breath as she turned around to face the said male, a slight smile on her facial features stained with a couple of specks of the red liquid. ‘’You were pretty good out there.’’

The blond quickly jumped into action, carefully and quickly helping in the effort to collect the pieces of paper that fell onto the ground as a result of their collision. He wasn’t really looking at the contents of the papers he was helping to collect as he picked each of the papers up, but he did notice that it was sheet music of some sort. If anything, this situation seemed enough to knock him awake, to which he would be thankful, if he didn’t just knock a girl and her papers over.

“I-I’m fine, I just wasn’t looking where I was going, I guess. Are you okay?” He handed her the papers with a quiet, “here,” before giving a soft smile back.

Noticing how the male helped her pick up her papers, Aiko quietly thanked him as she continued picking the music sheets as well. She happily accepted the papers he had collected and made a neat stack again, glancing up at him when she heard him talk.

‘’Glad to hear you’re okay! I’m also fine, don’t worry. T-Thank you for picking up these sheets here.’’

Gesturing to the stack with her head before she noticed that he looked a bit tired. Tilting her head slightly, she smiled a bit as she studied his face a little better. Speaking up, she genuinely didn’t mean anything by it and definitely didn’t want to sound rude

As he leaned back, he noticed tears brimming the corners of her eyes and he wondered if he shouldn’t have done that at all. They were quickly wiped away, but it didn’t go beyond his notice. Before his regret could take ahold though, Aiko saved him with two simple words. A soft chuckle was released, sitting back in his chair at ease.

“Yeah, same! Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

After she had calmed down from all her emotions getting the better of her, she now had a new worry. What to do now? What could she say? To be fair, she had no clue as to what she had to do now. Great, Kou saved her ass just now and she couldn’t even carry on the little act they were putting up.

‘’S-So..’’

Nope, no good. Her mind was a completely blank. Biting her lip, Aiko ran her hand through her hair to distract her just the tiniest bit while she was desperately trying to think of something. Glancing back at him, she smiled softly trying to cover up her awkward small talk skills.

‘’I heard this place is pretty good.’’

Prove it? That’s gonna be hard. They were silent, as if considering how to do just that. All the while, they kept the sheer smug look on their face, wary of what would happen if they dared to drop the facade. The worst that could happen was that they got punched, or stabbed, or generally murdered for toying with such a concept. Not to mention what might happen to the girl… Which meant they had to come up with some sort of method of proving their claim. Being killed wasn’t on their bucket list, and they doubted the girl wanted to get hurt, so it looked like they had only one option.

“You want me to prove it?” They tilted their head to the side, a taunting gesture they had observed on TV many times. Proving it would be difficult. They could have tried speaking a foreign language, claiming that their ‘dad’ showed them it. Learning new phrases happened to be a perk of traveling so much - there were often times Cache had run into people who didn’t speak English as a first language and, as such, picked up a few phrases from them. Unfortunately, they didn’t think saying “hello” in French would be any good as proof that they were truly a FBI member’s son. 

“Well, I can prove it with a gun, but you don’t have one of those, I assume?” They had never handled a firearm, let alone shot one. Handing them a gun was giving a drivers licence to a monkey : It was a bad idea in general. “And I’m taking a guess you like both your arms.” They allowed a smile, tapping their fingers against the arm holding them. “Breaking fingers, how about that? One at a time, as proof? That work for you, or do you need your bones for something? Oh! I could rip out your Adam’s apple, just like dad showed me.” How ironic, they were talking about their dad like he was here. Dead beat, much. They could at least find solace in the fact that pretending their dad was an FBI agent lessened the blow of actually talking about him.

“You know, you ought to be careful about who you pick on, considering I could break both your arms right now for just touching me and my friend.”

The men exchanged looks again after hearing the teen out. Were they going to risk it? Were they going to go that far to see if it was true? They didn’t have a gun on them, but breaking their fingers and arms didn’t sound really pleasant. The kid didn’t look like he even was strong enough to break a biscuit in half, but what if that was what he wanted them to think? They were only doing this because they were bored out of their minds before, just for a little fun. 

After a short silence of the two having their ‘conversation’ made out of looks and facial expressions, they had decided it was enough. They were not going to risk it. However, they weren’t just going to leave without doing anything, that’d be too much for their ego. 

The man holding Cache tightened his grip, using as much force as he possibly could before he practically threw his arm away from himself. And with a triumphant smirk he started to walk away, ‘’Yo, Red, let’s go we have much better things to do, let’s leave these shits.’’ Aiko could hear a grin, disgustingly close to her ears, before the man pushed her away towards the ground like a piece of trash. And with that, she fell on the tiles with a gasp. Laying there for a couple of seconds, she could just see the man called ‘Red’ trot away after his little friend. Muttering beneath her breath, she slightly lifted her upper body.

‘’O-Ouch, ouch, ouch.. Well.. That was fun.’’

As expected, Xion couldn’t help but to chuckle at the young lady’s reaction. Although she was quite young, she could hold her drinks very well. Though, someone who drinks a lot like er was expected to be depressed or stressed. Xion looked neither, but surely she had her own demons.

“Of course.”

Handing the ID to her, she waited for the young one to ring up all her drinks. “Not to worry though, I get this a lot. I’m not depressed or anything, I’m just restocking the bar!  If you’re interested, you should totally come by if you’re old enough. You look old enough anyway-!” She chirped. “..Not to say you look old! But you look young! But old enough! Like, the right amount!” The adult stammered, trying not to insult the woman set in front of her, making herself look like a complete goofball in the process.

Aiko took the ID and looked over it a little before giving it back with a smile and a nod. Woah, she really was old enough to buy all this, but she looked so young! Hopefully she’d age just as good as her.. Oh well, those are worries for the future, not now. Looking over at the pile of drinks, she started to scan the bottles, glancing up when the lady spoke again.

Seeing how the other had a little trouble with choosing her words, she couldn’t help but softly laugh as she went on about her age and looks. She didn’t mean anything bad with it of course, she wasn’t deriding her or anything, it was a kind and warm laughter. She shook her head, trying to show her it was fine.

‘’It’s fine, it’s fine! I’ll definitely drop by once. Ah, what is it called, actually? Is it nearby this place?’’

Damn, she knew how to pull the rights strings. He couldn’t deny her that, and she’d sounded so sincere about it too even when he had suspicions that it’d just been teasing material. Not like he could do anything about it even if he’d so wanted to, it was in his nature to get easily guilt tripped.

“No, of course not. You’re not a bother, you’d just help out a lot than more you already are if you went to take a shower.”

Kou froze up at the third question she released, and for a moment actually considered telling her. But no, Aiko was too pure, too innocent for that. They weren’t at that stage (if they’d ever get there at all) so it’d feel awkward if he did.

“Nothing wrong at all. Shoo, go shower now. The pancake batter will dry.”

Scanning his reaction she assumed that he probably saw through her little act, so she immediately dropped it and relaxed again. Chuckling a bit as she made her hand into a fist and gently hit her cheek with it, she then looked up at him with a bit of an apoligatic look.

‘’Sorry, I couldn’t help myself, I don’t even know what I tried to do there.’’

Well, it’d be awkward if he didn’t actually know she was playing around, but oh well. Too late now. Chuckles fading, a smile lingered on her lips as she listened to the rest of what he had to say. Really now, there was nothing wrong? ..She was going to find out what it was, she was too curious now. Slowly bringing said fist in front of Kou’s face, she placed her thumb in front of her middle finger before softly flicking his forehead. Quickly backing away she stuck out her tongue before she smiled again, turning around to go upstairs shortly after.

‘’Okay, I’ll be right back.’’
