If she had squeezed just a little more, then she would’ve sent a bullet flying towards Bradley’s face. It was a good thing her reflexes were quick, but to process the fact that she was holding a gun to his head and vice versa? That was going to take a little longer. Sienna had made it a point for so long to create a life for herself that seemed as legit and simple as any other normal person. You know? The ones that weren’t involved in crime and didn’t go to shady business deals, strapped up with a gun and more than willing to pull the trigger to make sure she was the one coming out alive. However, she had never intended to get romantically involved with someone. The fact that she had, had been a big deal in itself. She was sure now, someone up above or down below was laughing at her now for thinking she had could a small little piece of something outside of it all. Dumb girl. It took her a few seconds even after he had lowered his gun, to lower her own and even then she didn’t say anything. All she could do was stare at him, hardly able to fully take in what was happening. Even the voices of the others had somehow fallen away, his sounded like he was being muffled and just like that he was gone from her sight.
With the time she had to wrap her mind around what happened and let it all try to sink in, it really meant that she was able to rile herself up. She wasn’t sure how to react so naturally she fell onto and held on tightly to her anger. She was lying too, she knew that but she couldn’t help what was bubbling up inside of her. She kept the gun on her and now with how much more alert she was, when she entered the room she scoped out the whole place like she was expecting to find something. Part of her was convincing herself that he knew what he was doing, he must’ve, right? But then again, he looked as surprised as she had to have a gun pointed at each other. Or was that just another deceitful play? She couldn’t be sure anymore. When she heard someone outside the door she quickly moved to the side furthest from the entrance, her gun by her side after fighting with herself between putting it away or pointing it, “You’ve got five minutes to explain what the fuck that was all about and who the hell you are.”
The rest of the day had passed him by as much as it fucking dragged. He had been absent, his mind elsewhere. His soldier attitude forced him to hold it together, he couldn’t afford to let any of the guys sense something was wrong. Bradley left at his usual time and once he was gone from their sights, he slammed his fists and yelled in his car. Angry, sad, confused, betrayed. Did he make a mistake? Did she always know who he was? Had she been playing him all this time and he’d just let her walk because he cared for her? Fuck. Entering the lobby, he was armed, two guns in the back of his jeans - they’d stay there so long as she didn’t try to kill him. For some reason he didn’t care if she tried, he just threw the door open, walked in, closed it and locked it behind them.
“Me? I should explain?” Her request made him laugh. “Comical that is, Sienna. I mean, if that really is your fucking name.” He gestured towards her, stepping, shifting, clearly too wound up to stand still. “I was supposed to be there so what the fuck were you doing?” Bradley, breathed in and out but in a sudden move, grabbed her by the arm and shoved her against the wall, pressing an arm across her chest. “You work for him? For Pearce? Go on,” he pulled her forward a little just to shove her back. “Tell me I’m wrong?” He breathed in, biting at his inner lip and shaking his head. “Tell me I’m wrong.” Bradley repeated, this time, the respect was a little more pleading than the last time, like he was desperately wanting her to tell him he had it all twisted, she wasn’t working for the enemy.

Her eyes scanned over the other, taking in her appearance. There were some differences she could see, particularly in the way Talia held herself. She may look the same but this was definitely a different woman than the one she knew in high school. “Uh, yeah, I’ve only been back a few days,” she lied, scratching the tip of her nose as she did so. In reality, she had been back for close to six months though she had done her best to keep that secret. The only one that really knew was her brother. She let out a short laugh, an attempt to make Talia think that assumption was ridiculous even if it was true. “Drugs? Shit, who do you think I am?” She leaned against the wall, pulling her cigarette pack out of her pocket. When she was with Talia, she wasn’t an avid smoker, only smoking occasionally at parties but after the things she had been through, it wasn’t surprising for her to go through a pack a day. “He just owed me money,” she said, lighting a cig. She held the pack out to Talia, offering her one.
“And you didn’t call or come straight to see me?” She gasped, throwing a hand palm up on her head, as though the whole entire world had just crashed down around her. She chuckled soon after, hoping the soft joke would obliterate through the awkward tension. “I think you’re a bad liar.” With the smile still on her face, both brows lifted up and she shook her head. “Really? Luna, I heard you, I heard the exchange.” Putting her hands on her hips, she continued to eye her curiously. “I mean, I don’t care, I was just wondering why... And you don’t have to lie to me about it, it’s not like I would say anything.” Frowning, she felt a little awkward, at least in the sense that she wasn’t sure if she even had the right to question her like that anymore.

The sound of the bell ringing took Lincoln’s attention away from his work, placing the small wooden toy down on his work desk. Standing up from his station, he took a glance at the clock and frowned when he saw the time. It had been a few hours since his last customer, not that the small business saw many customers. But that was all a front for what the shop originally was set out to be. The shop was made to be a sort of safe haven for hunters across the country, a place where they could spend the night or restock on equipment. So while he never got any customers this close to closing, it wasn’t unusual to have a hunter stumbling in. He made his way to the front of the shop, a greeting at the tip of his tongue when his eyes meet the blonde’s and he stopped himself. How long had it been, a year? The last time he saw her, he stormed off in a drunken rage and never looked back. He had returned to New Orleans to take a break and that break had quickly turned into a permanent stay when he decided to quit hunting, though he had really stopped that a long time before then. “What are you doing here?” he asked. He expected she would have never wanted to see him again, he hadn’t really tried to reach out to her when he left. And yet, she was standing in his father’s shop.
Aubrey breathed in through her nose and tipped her head down, gaze following with it. “I’ve been here a while.” She tucked her hands in her pockets. “Are you busy? Do you think we could sit, have a coffee, maybe?” Aubrey was trying not to shift around too much but she probably felt as awkward as he did, even with her time to process the interaction. Clearing her throat she sighed and slouched her shoulders. “Look, I’m sorry for just dropping in like this, I’d have called but I didn’t have your number.” She frowned. Her eyes focused back on him and this time, she let them linger and study his appearance. He wasn’t slurring his words, that was a good sign. He actually looked like he’d cleaned himself up. She was pleased for him, but at the same time... Why did he never come back.

Smiling over at Talia when she walked into the office, picking up her glass of wine Amara leaned back against the chair. Taking a sip as she watched her walk to the mirror and the desk, liking the simplicity of the little piece she had on. “The new ones are always so fun.” Amara commented, although she hadn’t been in the position that her girls were in, in a long time. Still, she could still see it. The real conservative first timers that are desperate to let their desires be known and appreciated by someone. The shyness that some of them brought around until they grew comfortable use to be amusing to her. “As if you need to be freed.” She huffed out a small laugh before taking another sip. “I personally prefer you in leather.”
“Right? Like fresh meat, or... lambs to a pleasurable slaughter.” She continued to sway around, sauntering in little fairy-like tip-toes with her self made leaf fans. “Need? No, I’m as free as a bird, but it’s nice to be reminded that I can be worshipped and paid as much as it is to know a guy respects that I own my shit. I got that impression from him, you know, while he was getting his balls tickled with a leaf.” Talia grinned, shrugging a shoulder. “Oh yeah? I’ll remember that when your birthday rolls around.” She chuckled. “I got a free couple of hours, do you need help with anything? Paperwork or filing? Or I could just dance around and look pretty for you?”

“I’m disgusting? You’re the one that asked for a tongue in the first place.” Okay, Chris knew that wasn’t the case and Ryan’s guy was just an idiot for taking his brother’s words so literal but it was still a funny way to twist it; at least to him. “Nah, I’m good with the one god gave me. No one’s complained over it.” He chuckled from the way he continued to amuse himself, even if it only made Ryan roll his eyes in the end. He was use to that anyway, whether it was a serious look of annoyance or a joking one, he got it more often than not from just about everyone. He’d be rich by now if he got a penny for every time he got it. Exhaling, he gathered himself up some when Ryan asked where his head was. He wasn’t entirely sure how to answer it either. Did he already say he wanted in on the things going on? Yes. Would he be truly up for whatever task was thrown his way? He couldn’t say for sure. At the end of the day, Chris might’ve been a headache to deal with but he wasn’t going out looking to spill blood either. “I’ve been wondering,” because he had been so clueless to the life his brother created for himself, he couldn’t even guess the answer. “When was the first time you killed someone?” He went for it flat-out, which wasn’t surprising, he wasn’t known for biting his tongue or beating around the bush.
“Yeah, I hear Grandma still loves a sloppy smooch, glad you’re keepin’ the old gal happy, but maybe you shouldn’t brag about it so much. Ladies won’t wanna hear how much she loves your tongue, sounds a little creepy, bro.” He opened his arms in a gesture and chuckled, obviously finding himself quite funny. Brotherly banter was clearly something he missed on the days he was too miserable or vexed to engage in the jokes. “Heavy question.” Ryan raised his brow, though he wasn’t surprised by any means, Chris always did jump in the deep end, no matter what situation it was. With a side-eyed look, he tipped his head and signalled for the few guys to move, at least out of earshot - not because they didn’t know what he was about to say, mainly because Chris didn’t. Whatever his reaction would be, he figured he didn’t want people listening in. “Eight years ago, May the 13th.” Taking another swig of his beer. “His name was Carter, small-time drug lord, made his money, gunned down anyone who wasn’t stepping to his beat. I challenged him to a deathmatch, winner takes all. Obviously, since I’m not dead, I won. Took over the shit he was running and rebuilt it ground up, used the money to open the first club and went from there. He-” Ryan put his drink down and sighed inwardly, taking a little pause. “It was him who killed Rosie... And what I never told you was that I was there when he did it.” He looked back towards Chris, feeling a small weight off his shoulders for actually telling him the truth - though he tried not to dwell because every time he relived that memory, it seemed to hurt a little more. He waited a few seconds before talking. “I knocked him out, and then I sliced through his neck and held his head up for his crew to see there was a change in leadership.” Why he beheaded him was self-explanatory, given that it was public knowledge that, that’s what Carter did to Rosie. “And before you ask, the answer is no. I don’t regret it, I enjoyed it. I only regret the fact he was unconcious when I did it.”

“Promise.” She nodded, hoping she would keep to it. Sometimes, reckless choices just landed in her lap and she had to go with them but now she’d make it a point to send a text to him when she did. “I know, it wasn’t my best moment.” If it were the other way around, she would be pissed. Growing up as they did, you were more aware of death always lurking around each corner. It made her wonder how normal people lived day to day, whether they thought about death as much as the people around her did. Sighing she moved back, sitting down on the bed once her legs backed against it. “I haven’t seen him. Kinda scared to.” Not because he’d be angry with her, that much she accepted before she even left. Her fear came from confronting him and learning the truth about what he had been hiding. Just the idea of finally speaking to him made her feel all twisted up and sick, so it probably said more that she didn’t march right over to him once she was in the same city as Shawn. “She told me that she killed Mateo. You know, so him walking around alive and well isn’t something she exactly thought she’d see again.” Shiloh shrugged. “And there was no way she was messing with me by lying.” Something she had with her would help with that when it came to Shawn as well. “Which means, Shawn has been covering up the fact that Mateo died, even to Mateo because it’s not like Mateo woke up in transition or something. So..you know, not a lot of possibilities left.” The truth was sitting right in front of her but she didn’t want to see it or hear it, which was why she was stalling the confrontation.
“No, it wasn’t, but I’m glad you’re in one piece.” Sighing, he dipped down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, trying not to dwell too much on the fact she probably made herself a target for a ruthless vampire. Riley leaned back against the wall and remained quiet, giving her a chance to gather her thoughts and tell him what she found out. Though her confession wasn’t entirely along the lines he’d been speculating, there was very little surprise and next to no change in his solemn expression. His mind had already face planted straight into a reason why, if Katherine was telling the truth, Shawn was lying, and the conclusion he’d drawn and let sink into his gut brought his eyes to a close. He couldn’t even be angry because in that position, he’d do the same thing as Shawn, heck, he’d do it for Shawn. “You think he made a deal?” Riley had to say it out loud it seemed for both his sake and hers. He didn’t want to hurt her, but dancing around the idea didn’t make it go away. Sliding down the wall and crouching on his knees, he looked over to Shilo and shook his head. “Jesus Christ.” Why did it always seem to be a worst-case scenario that made the most logical sense? “You’re certain Katherine wasn’t just trying to fuck with you?” He paused and clasped his hands together. “You really need to talk to Shawn, clear this up or- get the facts.” His tone was sorrowful, feeling little hope that this was a misunderstanding, he felt useless to help.

There was a never ending string of ‘no’ going through his mind wanting to refuse what was being told to him. There was no way. Him? A father? He might’ve felt like one when it came to Shiloh, the way he went about the big brother role left to him but at the end of the day he wasn’t her dad and he sure as hell didn’t bring her into the world knowing his lifespan was less than a decade. How was he supposed to handle that? Did that mean he had to share what he had been hiding with Mila now? Or did he keep it to himself until the very end still? The latter had been what he planned to do but now things were different. How could he keep something like that if he had a kid with her. “This is fucked.” He blurted out, though he was referring to his thoughts over his deal and not the fact that she was pregnant but he didn’t look to clarify it either. He felt like the air was being knocked out of him so before he could say anything else he was making his way towards the backyard. Once he reached it, he inhaled deeply trying to settle himself down though the dogs racing up trying to get him to pay any attention to him didn’t help. While he usually gave them all the love, he gave them both a little push instead to move them aside so he could put some distance between himself the backdoor.
She’d prepared for a big outburst, anger, maybe even a flip of a coffee table or a glass thrown at the wall. The silence made it so much more unbearable. She’d never felt uncomfortable around him before but she couldn’t stop her hands from shaking. She felt guilty and it was illogical because it was both their faults, but she felt sad that she had dropped this on him when usually, she pulled him away from the shitstorm of his life and chaos of his mind. “Shawn...” She stood up when he started walking off but her feet remained glued to the floor. Mila could feel the bubble of tears and she knew once she started she wouldn’t stop. She pulled three positive pregnancy tests out her back pocket and placed them on the table. Seeing it made it real, right? She needed him to know this was real. She gave him one last glance while he had his back to her and she quickly slipped out the front door. Once she was in the fresh air, she choked out a sob and moved at a brisk pace, heading in the direction of her grandma’s apartment. Maybe she could just hide in there for the rest of her life?
{ pulling up with a small team of three, they were armed and ready. bradley had been itching for payback since he learned about the attack on the restaurant; he lost a couple good friends thanks to pearce and his crew. being more of a shoot-first guy made it difficult sometimes to follow a leader who played the smarter card, striking only when it would deliver the most impact. over the three weeks, strings were pulled and here they were in an abandoned warehouse waiting for the enemies arrival. lured by a false business proposition. they were placed strategically in and outside of the warehouse, two guys in the main room playing the part until the merch was in place. the two guys posing as dealers drew fire and killed the first two of peace’s crew. after the shots were heard, it was a free for all. one by one, bodies dropped, bullets and fists flew. }
bradley moved from corner to corner, dropping anyone who wasn’t wearing a black hoodie. gun in hand, he turned the corner and almost pulled his trigger only to find his hands and full body froze. “fuck. what the fuck are you doing here--” his eyes bore into his lovers, shock and desperation all over his face. it didn’t take long for him to realise there was no other reason she would be here, and suddenly he felt angry. betrayed. gun still pointing at her head, bradley knew he needed to shoot. in the background he could hear his guys shouting clear, gathering themselves to leave and calling out to him. “just- fuck,” he whispered, before calling out. “i’m good, do what you need to do and go to the van.” he waited until the steps moved away before finally lowering the gun. “say nothing. - meet me at the hotel tonight.” they had planned to do so anyway, but now it was more of a demand. he took one last look at her before exiting the room and jogging out to the car, praying he wasn’t about to regret letting her go. @amoretsundere

In truth, she did consider calling first to warn him she was in the city. Until now there hadn’t been a reason for her to do so, she’d been here chasing a lead for around a month now but saw no reason to bother him until she knew for sure the lead was heading somewhere. Besides, she didn’t have his number anymore. After he left, she replaced her mobiles, deleted herself from the internet and completely shut out the world. Aubrey became a ghost. Quite fitting, considering that’s how she felt ever since she lost their baby; just a pale copy of the woman she used to be. The only way she could cope with the loss was to bury herself in trying to track down the vampire who caused it; it was the ultimate downfall for their relationship. It had been just over a year since she last saw Linc, but now she was close to finding the vampire, in the city he settled in no less, it felt like fate that she inform him. He deserved to have a hand in the death of the thing that ruined their lives and she was very much under the impression that’s what he would want. So, there she was, walking into his fathers' shop, or more accurately now, his shop just before closing. The bell signalled she’d entered and she waited for him to appear, a small quiver of nerves in the ends of her fingertips. “Hi, Linc.” Her voice came out as a whisper and she just to say managed a gentle smile. “How’s it going?” She breathed in. How’s it going? /mental slap/ What a dumb thing to say. “You look good.” Fact. He looked much healthier than he did the day he left. @forgedsecrxts
