It wasnât difficult to catch the sound of voices in a usually abandoned ally; the brunette paused just before she passed, curiosity getting the better of her. Just from the little exchange alone, she could tell there was some shady business happening. Talia didnât care much for what people got up to or how they chose to spend their money, what she did care for was that voice. A frown creased across her face and a feeling of familiarity set into her bones. She couldnât help but peek around the corner but all she saw was the back of a female silhouette and her heart almost leapt out her chest. Moulding back into the wall with wide eyes and a loose jaw, she gave herself a few seconds to connect the dots and let them sink in. Though she hadnât seen her face, sheâd know that figure anywhere. Seeing the man leave the alley, she took a deep breath and stepped around, hands in her pockets and a calmer, more gentle expression on her face. âLuna.â Her lips twitched upwards as her eyes focused on hers. âAh, trick of the light.â She gave a humble little shrug and slid her hands into the back of her jeans. âYou look good.â More than good, not that she expected anything less. âI didnât know you were back.â Talia commented, taking a glance behind her. âWhat was all that about?â She felt like she knew a drug deal when she heard one, but to think Luna was involved in that didnât make much sense to her. âWhy are you selling drugs?â A blunt question, asked only with the hope that Luna would tell her she was way off the mark.Â
Her eyes scanned over the other, taking in her appearance. There were some differences she could see, particularly in the way Talia held herself. She may look the same but this was definitely a different woman than the one she knew in high school. "Uh, yeah, I've only been back a few days," she lied, scratching the tip of her nose as she did so. In reality, she had been back for close to six months though she had done her best to keep that secret. The only one that really knew was her brother. She let out a short laugh, an attempt to make Talia think that assumption was ridiculous even if it was true. "Drugs? Shit, who do you think I am?" She leaned against the wall, pulling her cigarette pack out of her pocket. When she was with Talia, she wasn't an avid smoker, only smoking occasionally at parties but after the things she had been through, Â it wasnât surprising for her to go through a pack a day. "He just owed me money," she said, lighting a cig. She held the pack out to Talia, offering her one.

Romi knew from the moment she saw the Nightcap that heading in wasn't a good idea. Never mind the fact that it was barely ten in the morning and she had just dropped her daughter off at school, but maybe it wasn't the best for her to go reliving old memories. But her feet were already moving her before she could even give it much thought and soon enough, she was stepping through the threshold. The bar looked almost identical to her memories of it ten years ago, except for a few different decorations. Her eyes scanned the area as she approached the front bar, her gaze lingering on the far corner booth that sparked a few happy memories. She had spent countless hours in that booth, once proudly calling it theirs, and now she wondered if it was someone else's. Her gaze shifted to the bartender, snapping herself out of her memories as he asked her for her order. She ordered herself a mimosa, not really expecting herself to get that far into the bar but also founding it too awkward to leave now without ordering something. With a nod, the bartender walked off to make her drink, and she sat down on one of the stools, her eyes looking around at the familiarities. @amoretsundere

In truth, she did consider calling first to warn him she was in the city. Until now there hadnât been a reason for her to do so, sheâd been here chasing a lead for around a month now but saw no reason to bother him until she knew for sure the lead was heading somewhere. Besides, she didnât have his number anymore. After he left, she replaced her mobiles, deleted herself from the internet and completely shut out the world. Aubrey became a ghost. Quite fitting, considering thatâs how she felt ever since she lost their baby; just a pale copy of the woman she used to be. The only way she could cope with the loss was to bury herself in trying to track down the vampire who caused it; it was the ultimate downfall for their relationship. It had been just over a year since she last saw Linc, but now she was close to finding the vampire, in the city he settled in no less, it felt like fate that she inform him. He deserved to have a hand in the death of the thing that ruined their lives and she was very much under the impression thatâs what he would want. So, there she was, walking into his fathersâ shop, or more accurately now, his shop just before closing. The bell signalled sheâd entered and she waited for him to appear, a small quiver of nerves in the ends of her fingertips. âHi, Linc.â Her voice came out as a whisper and she just to say managed a gentle smile. âHowâs it going?â She breathed in. Howâs it going? /mental slap/ What a dumb thing to say. âYou look good.â Fact. He looked much healthier than he did the day he left. @forgedsecrxts
The sound of the bell ringing took Lincoln's attention away from his work, placing the small wooden toy down on his work desk. Standing up from his station, he took a glance at the clock and frowned when he saw the time. It had been a few hours since his last customer, not that the small business saw many customers. But that was all a front for what the shop originally was set out to be. The shop was made to be a sort of safe haven for hunters across the country, a place where they could spend the night or restock on equipment. So while he never got any customers this close to closing, it wasn't unusual to have a hunter stumbling in. He made his way to the front of the shop, a greeting at the tip of his tongue when his eyes meet the blonde's and he stopped himself. How long had it been, a year? The last time he saw her, he stormed off in a drunken rage and never looked back. He had returned to New Orleans to take a break and that break had quickly turned into a permanent stay when he decided to quit hunting, though he had really stopped that a long time before then. "What are you doing here?" he asked. He expected she would have never wanted to see him again, he hadn't really tried to reach out to her when he left. And yet, she was standing in his father's shop.
Fuck you for leaving. Fuck you for lying. Fuck you for being so confusing. Fuck you for making me sad. Fuck you for making me think I meant something to you. Fuck you.

If he wasnât currently under the influence, he was sure he wouldâve already felt the sudden pressure in his head over the small bit of conversation already had. He didnât bother saying anything in return, simply standing there for a few more seconds as he watched her gather the pieces of paper until she spoke about signing again. At this point when he looked at her, he wasnât sure what he was seeing when he did. Was it the bad memories he created himself or the good ones that made him want to hurl? âIâm going to bed.â He stated, pushing the door to close it as he backed away and turned to walk towards the room. If he could forget the whole encounter, he wouldâve picked that option but his mind had no interest in the papers, not even enough to curiously ask what they were about. For a long time now Jax walked through his life pretending it hadnât fallen apart by numbing everything about it, seeing Diana woke him up and that was the last thing he wanted.
She watched as he turned his back to her and at that moment, she allowed some of her anger to take over her. Before the door could close, her hand reached out to stop it, pushing it open as she stepped through the threshold. It was one of the few times in the past three years that she actually let herself act on her emotions. In a swift motion, as the door slammed shut, she had taken her purse off her shoulder and threw it at the back of Jaxon's head. "Asshole!" she exclaimed with a huff of breath as she stood in front of the door, the documents clutched some tightly in her hand, they were starting to crinkle. Her reaction was almost irrational but there were so many pent up emotions when it came to Jaxon that she couldn't stop herself from letting some of it out.Â

There was a moment where Shiloh wanted to spit out something along the lines of buried somewhere in Nebraska but she bit her tongue a little bit longer. Even though her mother hadnât been the best and she was a dead woman but blood was blood and that always stuck with her which meant she wouldnât give out just anything to anyone that came along. Right now especially, she was blinded by what she was trying to protect. Maybe if she wasnât, she wouldâve been naturally more open-minded by the encounter and picked up on the obvious features. âI know where she is.â Finally answering with a nod of her head. It wasnât really a lie anyway. âWhy are you looking for her?âÂ
She could barely stop the smile of relief from spreading on her face, the corner of her lips twitching slightly. There was finally an end to her search but that only opened up the door to her next step; convincing Jenine to help her. "Um, I need her help⊠with something." She was hesitant to tell the woman anything more. Maybe she should've paid more attention to the hints the woman was practically throwing at her. But at that moment, Alanah only saw someone that had information that she needed, that wasn't trusting her yet wasn't giving Alanah any reason to trust her back.
