small steps lead the boy's feet into the office, doe eyes taking a quick glance around before settling on the stranger's face. kyungsoo observes his features carefully, mostly out of habit than anything else, in empty hope of recognising him from somewhere. (he doesn't. he never does.) instead he focus his attention on the other's words, brows raising just slightly as a hint of confusion is rather clear in his gaze. "a poem..?" he repeats, taking the seat he was motioned towards. such words made kyungsoo wonder if this person was aware of his amnesia, and if they had, after all, met before, although kyungsoo skipped through the pages of his notebook like he does every morning and he doesn't recall having a page about this person. "forgive me, i.. i'm not sure i'm following."

an unexpected request -- one that felt warm despite the cold air of a december day. kyungsoo had always been a kind, humble person by nature; he was never one of those to give and expect in return, holding grudges when someone fails to return the favor. no, kyungsoo was one to give because he genuinely wanted to, and whether or not he would receive an award was something that honestly did not matter to him. nevertheless, the taller boy was being kind in return and as much as kyungsoo found it difficult to trust strangers, the other's smile emitted something on its own that made the dark-haired male feel comfort.  "there truly is no need," kyungsoo reassured at first with a smile of his own, wanting to make sure this boy knew kyungsoo felt no need for rewards. { --the older boys seems to quickly become at ease with kyungsoo and it leaves the younger rather surprised, as he did not expect such a quick change in personality. it makes him mentally scratch the thing about yoongi reminding him of himself, replacing it rather with yoongin being someone he'd like to be -- easily comfortable around others the moment a stranger shows kindness. sadly for kyungsoo, he is far too shy and rather awkward to be as quick, but his tender young age does allow him to slip trust more easily and so he smiles a little wider at the other } okay.. { --he replies rather shyly at yoongi's question, giving a small nod as he kicks his feet slightly in the air. kyungsoo was a rather friendless child, and he wasn't really used to someone asking him to become good friends right away like this-- but it felt good. then, the ringing bells catch his attention and kyungsoo starts to collect his things from class while being, once more, taken by surprise by yoongi's request. he looks at the other with doe eyes, slightly parted mouth for kyungsoo can't remember the last time another child invited him to their home - and slowly he smiles again, giving off another shy nod } ..yes, of course.

One patient at three and then another at three forty-five and there’s also that girl in three-c that needs to be checked on and if I can get away with just doing those then perhaps I’ll be able to-

Jessica’s head snaps upwards at the urgent calling of a stranger’s voice, thoughts ceasing as she realizes where her mindless walking has led her. It’s not often that she’s so distracted that she can’t see what’s coming, especially with her own life, but this seems to have been an exception. She steps back onto the sidewalk in just enough time for a taxi cab to whiz by, the driver giving her a particularly rude look. Scarlet blush covers her cheeks in embarrassment as she turns to look at the man that had called out to her, inclining her head. “I don’t think that it’s often I thank someone for yelling at me, but thank you. I seem to have been too absorbed in my thoughts to realize I wasn’t supposed to cross.” The corners of her eyes crease as she laughs, extending her hand towards him. “I’m Jessica.”

relief washes over him as the girl seemed to have heard him in time, a small sigh escaping past his lips to soothe the sudden scare. then, a small but honest smile grows on his lips and he takes a few steps closer to her, gaze darting towards the taxi that seemed far already before looking back at her. she didn't seem much older than him and kyungsoo couldn't help but find himself wondering what could have had her so distracted (daydreaming? stress?), but he knew it most likely wasn't his place to question. "that's alright, i don't usually yell at strangers either." he shrugs, smile remaining as he nods and extends his own hand for a handshake. "i'm kyungsoo, nice to meet you." he nods once again. "i'm glad you're alright."

       Unexpected —the child of God who lost his wings and figments of his entire self squealing because of the sudden gesture, the softness of wool enveloping his fragile neck, as if such a thing would prevent it from ever reach the breaking point. Warm was the smile curling his lips, sanctity so easily being imbued in such a simple, yet fulfilling gesture —eyes glimmering along with the first stars appearing over the setting sky over their heads.

❝ Thank you —but… I can’t accept —h-how about you? I don’t want you to get a cold, sir. 

a smile curls its way up on kyungsoo's lips, small, a mere twitch - but a honest one. he's a simple boy, truthfully, a creature of habit and he doesn't usually make actions out of blue like this. but december was here and making sure it was known by casting frost on windows and streets, the chilly air making everyone zip up their jackets and seek for warm coffeeshops to spend a nice afternoon at. it's important to dress nicely if one wants to avoid the terrible bother of having a cold -- and this stranger, this boy didn't seem all too cozy around the neck. "it's alright." he reassures, small nod matching his small smile and he waves a hand, sign that he truly didn't mind handing his scarf to the taller male. "my house isn't too far from here, i'll be fine. i'm worried you might be the one catching a cold, though- so take it as a random, nice stranger act?" he smiles a little wider, playful hint in his voice.

brown hair and dark eyes; broad shoulders and vertically blessed; tanned skin and sharp jaw. beautiful features and ones that surely wouldn't easily be forgotten, the kind that you could easily find yourself thinking about at some other point and ask yourself if perhaps they were a model. no, a boy looking like the one in front of kyungsoo wasn't one easy to wipe from his memory.---then why couldn't he remember his face?"i.." kyungsoo's voice is dry and it cracks at the end, lips parted just the slightest as his own doe eyes continue to study the taller's features. kyungsoo may fail to remember him, but he isn't dumb; much the other way around, truthfully, kyungsoo is rather good at reading people. at reading the expression, the tone of their voice, the gaze in their eyes. the two have met before - the other's words say it on their own, and they could even tell kyungsoo more.(perhaps they met yesterday. perhaps they met many yesterdays ago. this wasn't the second time they met--)but on top of it all, kyungsoo could feel the exhaustion in the other male's voice. it made him wonder how many times they've gone through this; how many times has kyungsoo forgotten him, how many times has this poor boy been forced to introduce himself, over and over and over again, only to never be remembered. only for his name to never end up carved in the back of kyungsoo's mind merely because nothing seems to stick in there anymore.and kyungsoo feels guilty, guilty because of his own condition, guilty because of the forgotten yesterdays and the tomorrows that will lose record too, guilty of the tiredness present in the other's gaze.and so kyungsoo's eyes meet the boy's shoes instead, and shakily, softly, he whispers, "..i'm sorry."

"oh?" the male looks up, doe though rather dull eyes meeting with the girl whose words were directed towards himself. it takes him somewhat off guard, he must confess, for his actions didn't feel brave at all -- correct would be the best word for it. seeing a young teenager be scolded harshly by an employee because he missed the 'eating forbidden' sign seemed rather unfair, after all, it was only ice cream and the kid wasn't making any mess; standing up for him seemed like the right thing to do. but he would be lying if he said her words didn't make him feel rather proud, or rather accomplished, and he found himself smiling at her. "it was only correct, the adult was being too rude about it-- but, thank you."
