rom&nd the juicy lasting tint (#01) review
shade: 01 pomelo skin
as a chronic rom&nd lip tint user, i HAD to get my hands on this new formula to try it out. i've heard that it was the updated version of the original juicy lasting tint, but i've also heard mixed reviews. all in all, i think it comes to personal preferences, and i'm going to share my opinions with comparisons with the original tint in the same shade.
new version on the top and old version on the bottom (i tried editing it so it looks as similar to irl as possible !!)
comparisons:
when it comes to the color, the new version is slightly pinker than the old version
the new version is much thinner in consistency and is very similar to other trending formulas i've seen in kbeauty -> it almost has a tinted color layer on the bottom and an oilier layer on top
the old version is slightly more creamier (?) than the new version
the new version has a more artificial strawberry/grape scent than the old version
i was actually expecting the new version to have a stronger tint but it actually didn't lol
i also realized that the amount of product dropped drastically: the new version is 3.5g and the old version is 5.5g (2g difference is a bit...)
all in all, i think it comes down to preference and colors because i know the new version doesn't have all the same shades as the old version, but they also have completely new shades as well
rating: 7/10
recommend to: people who want a thinner tint that is somewhat buildable

i wanted to start a mini series where i post about some of the trends i've been seeing in kbeauty. especially because kbeauty trends change so quickly, i wanted to make this into a series for people to learn more about what's currently/has been trending and share some opinions and products!

1. PDRN
PDRN, or polydeoxyribonucleotide, is a super trendy skincare ingredient that has absolutely changed the skincare trends lately. PDRN is an active ingredient that is extracted from salmon sperm (?!) and are made up of DNA fragments (according to this review article by Khan et al., 2022). there are also other brands that use vegan PDRN by extracting the ingredient from rose, green tea, wild ginseng, etc.
PDRN is also the main ingredient for rejuran healer skin booster injections (according to this reddit post)
most korean beauty brands say that this ingredient helps with:
slow aging
elasticity and firmness
increasing collagen production
creating a natural glow
reduced fine lines
there are also some concerns regarding this ingredient as it is an ingredient that is still being researched on. additionally, as it is an active ingredient, it is important to use this ingredient in a moderate manner.

2. cushion foundations: thin formula
now that summer has come, it is time for the return of summer cushion foundations! especially with the hotter weather, more consumers tend to look for thin formulas that are somewhat buildable or higher coverage. i've noticed that this was starting to appear last summer, but i think this summer will be the time where this trend will really starts to catch on.
my small prediction is that we might start seeing more mesh-type cushions, since they are able to filter out larger particles, allowing only the finer product to apply a more even, dispersed layer of foundation on the face. i also noticed that mesh-type cushions are better at filling pores without making them more noticeable.

3. glowly blushes
i've also noticed that glowy blushes have been the rave, whether it be a liquid blush or a cream blush. i think it's because more people are starting to like the look of having a more three dimensional face ? (if that makes sense...) i've also seen a lot of korean celebrities going for more dewy cheeks as it adds a healthy glow.

laka fruity glam tint (#123 & #108) review
shade: 123 unsweet berry (left) & 108 salty (right)
i have always been a HUGE fan of laka products and especially this fruity glam tint! i've tried a lot (maybe too many) different lip tints and this tint is one of my top 3 when it comes to formula, color, and overall quality. although the price isn't as cheap as peripera and romand tints, it is totally worth the price!!
108 salty is on the left and 123 unsweet berry is on the right (i'd say this picture has the most accurate representation of the shades !!)
color description (108 salty): a mlbb caramel + carrot shade. i'd say it's the perfect spring shade for autumn warm tones. (i also repurchased this shade because i loved the color soooo much!!)
color description (123 unsweet berry): a deep grape shade that reminds me of a red wine color + a hint of black. it's the perfect winter shade for winter dark tones!
(left is with no flash, middle is with flash, and right is when removed)
as you can see in the picture above, the stained color itself is very similar to the tint color but just a slighter darker.
pros:
high quality packaging
really good stain and long-lasting
super glossy (but not sticky)
really pretty shades
cons:
more pricey than average (but still worth it)
slightly transfers due to its glossiness
rating: 9.99999/10
recommend to: if you were looking for a glossy lip tint that is high-quality and has a variety of shades ranging from mlbb to natural to point-color shades, this will be perfect for you!

shade: 04 dusty fog garden
i was very intrigued by this palette when it first released. my first thought was an all matte, gray palette? from a korean company? to the korean population?
my next thought was i need it, hence why i got it :)
one important thing to mention is that this palette was purposely made to mix with other eyeshadows. meaning, it is a palette that allows you to create your own combinations of new shades.
in depth on each shade:
bright fog: a toned-down beige matte shade
skin ash: a cool toned sand matte shade
misty ground: skin ash but very cool-ified
purple dust: misty ground but with a hint of pink-purple
dusty land: a dark muted purple-gray matte shade
dry grey: a light gray matte shade
fog hugging: dry grey but slightly darker
dusty grey: fog hugging but slightly darker
taupe brown: a dark, cool tone taupe matte shade
soft black: a gray charcoal matte shade
pros:
can create many new shades if mixed with other palettes
can use the gray shades as contour because it makes it look like a shadow
cons:
only matte shades
VERY gray meaning that it's not meant to be for everyday looks (unless you like gray makeup looks for daily makeup which in that case... slay)
as per usual for all rom&nd palettes, it has a lot of fall out
may not show up on darker skin tones
sheer (again, not surprised)
rating: 6.5/10 (i'm a bit biased because i like gray tones)
recommend to: anyone who likes gray tones (winter cool shade) and matte eyeshadows. i would also recommend this to anyone who already has many eyeshadow palettes and wants to mix these gray shades with their own palettes to create new, customized shades.

shade: 05 shade & shadow garden
honestly, i was not expecting myself to like this palette this much. i usually steer away from warm tone palettes because i just don't think i look very good in warm colors, but this palette was a way to cure my warm tone-phobia. i love this palette so much <3
also, quickly just wanted to mention that this palette is an all-matte palette.
in depth on each shade:
matte sand: a light, baked beige matte shade
soft beige: a toned down light peach matte shade
rose shadow: soft beige but slightly more toned down and more pink
brown ground: a muted brown matte shade that's (very) slightly pink
chocolate mud: a chocolate brown matte shade
white pebble: a light beige base matte shade
sand scent: a pink beige matte shade
nudy grey: sand scent but more toned down
mauve silhouette: a toned down pink/mauve matte shade
evening shade: a dusty rose matte shade (with a hint of brown)
pros:
kind of biased, but as someone who likes matte shades, this was the perfect all-matte palette
good for daily use especially during the spring and fall seasons
has both toned down brown and rose shades
cons:
no glitter
not much of a huge variety between the colors (some of the shades honestly look really similar)
as per usual for all rom&nd palettes, it has a lot of fall out
may not show up on darker skin tones
sheer (like most korean eyeshadow palettes)

i got this product for free as a part of the yesstyle influencer program! i always wanted to try it out because i've seen a lot of people review it on tiktok, so i had somewhat high hopes before trying it out.
key descriptions:
red bean extract (44.1%) is an antioxidant that can absorb excess oil (or sebum)
uses 3 different types of peptides which are anti-aging ingredients that can help improve wrinkles
is aimed to help people with oily skin reduce sebum but still keep the skin moisturized
fragrance free
essential oil free
vegan
pros:
pretty packaging (love the light pink color)
great for the summertime because of the gel consistency
doesn't feel sticky when fully absorbed
a little bean size of product is all you need for each application
cons:
one of the ingredients is dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer which is a silicone (most likely to help the consistency) that could not work for everyone
rating: 8/10
recommend to: anyone with oily skin who wants a moisturizer that doesn't make your skin feel even more oily or sticky.

put this in the fridge right before you use it to help cool down your skin!

shade: 06 peony nude garden
i was pretty satisfied with this palette because it has such a pretty pinkish-taupe tones that i really like. i'd say it's more aimed towards cool-toned people, and it really matches the spring mood.
in depth on each shade:
icy mist: a pearly shimmer shade that has pink, silver, and bronzy reflections
pale brie: a light beige base matte shade
peony blush: a pale pink matte shade that looks like strawberry milk
bubble pink: a slightly toned-down pink matte shade with small specks of silver/pink shimmers
orchid night: a muted pink-purple matte shade
shine dew: a light rose pink shimmer shade
shade beige: a matte shade with a name that basically explains its color
cool bay: a cool-brown matte shade
dusk brown: cool bay but one or two shades darker
umber wood: a gray-brown matte shade
pros:
kind of biased, but as someone who likes matte shades, this palette had 7 matte shades (out of 10 shades total) and i loved that
overall nice variety: there is a base color (pale brie), a smooth shimmery shade (shine dew), a point shimmer shade (icy mist), and an eyeliner blending shade (umber wood)
pretty pink shades but also nice gray-toned brown shades as well
cons:
some of the shades on the lower row kind of look really similar
as per usual for all rom&nd palettes, it has a lot of fall out
may not show up on darker skin tones
sheer (like most korean eyeshadow palettes)

shade: 02 mahogany garden
not going to lie, this eyeshadow palette was not my usual buy. why? well, i'm not much of a fan of burnt-brown shades, but i somehow ended up buying this palette. it was probably because i've seen so many people buy it and review it on tiktok, and it made me curious (especially with all the different types of glitter). i'd say it was a decently satisfying buy :)
in depth on each shade:
dazzle honey: a shimmery shade with white and gold sheens
glaring sun: a chunky glitter shade that has a mix of small glitters and hexagon shaped glitters that reflect gold and blue/purple
glazed gold: a copper shimmery shade
burny brown: a toned down terracotta matte shade
earthy glam: a gold glitter speck shade with hints of orange reflectives
cotton beige: a light beige matte shade
soft dream: cotton beige but 3 or 4 shades darker
mildly wood: soft dream but 2 shades darker
maroon brown: a burnt brown matte shade
deep mahogany: a chocolate brown matte shade
pros:
variety of glitters: a multi-shimmer (dazzle honey), chunky glitter (glaring sun), glazed shimmer (glazed gold), and glitter shimmer (earthy glam)
good variation of eyeshadows: has a base color (cotton beige), a bunch of glitter topers, and an eyeliner blending shade (deep mahogany)

peripera ink mood glowy tint (#2) review
shade: 02 coral influencer
lately, i've been obsessed with this tint. as we all (probably) know, peripera is a brand that is known for their lip tints. right as i saw the release for this tint, i knew i had to try it out because the packaging an the colors looked so pretty. not to mention, i actually bought this on amazon when there was a huge sale and got it for around $5, which is SOOO cheap for a tint.
color description: like the name, the color of the tint is very coral, but depending on the color of your lips, this tint could look more coral or more pink. on my lips it looks like a coral-pink shade.
as you can see in the pictures below, the stain itself is also a very similar color to the actual tint.
(also, i got this tint in the shade 03 rose in mind as well, so keep a lookout for a future review on that shade!)
pros:
pretty packaging
has a stain
layer-able
light and not sticky
affordable and good quality for its price
cons:
since its a glossy tint, there is a bit of transferring
rating: 9.5/10
recommend to: i'd say that this lip tint is perfectly described as glassy (instead of glossy), so if your trying to find a lip tint that will create that effect, this will be perfect for you!

LANEIGE neo cushion-matte (old) review
shade: 23N sand
out of all the korean cushion foundations i've tried, this cushion was for sure a favorite.
i actually got this product as a gift over the summer from a family friend who works at amore pacific. in korea, this cushion is one of the top-selling cushions during the summer because it works so well with hot weather. as someone who has generally oily skin, this was the perfect daily cushion for me.
pros:
really cute packaging (i love the mint color so much)
long-lasting
SPF 42 PA++
doesn't crease and "scale" weirdly because it's so thin
decent coverage
barely any smudge
works well with oily skin
cons:
may be a bit drying to people with dry skin
like many korean brands, the shade range is really small :(
rating: 9.999.../10
recommend to: anyone who has oily skin and is looking for a matte cushion foundation that will stay on their face throughout the day (even with a mask on).
