phoebe was born and raised in napa, california. her parents own/manage a vineyard that has been in the family for many generations. she grew up in this sort of perfect bubble because, well, she’s wealthy as fuck. her family would go on vacations to vail & chamonix for skiing in the winter and fiji & sydney in the summer.

she has always been very into sports mostly because it was the way her family would bond growing up (and now as well, lbr). she’s great at skiing, snowboarding, surfing, probably played on a soccer team during her school years.

she has an older sister whom she adores and who is going to take over the family business after their parents retire. she majored in business and finance (her sister, not phoebs) and honestly could backstab phoebe in the future and keep all the money but probably wouldn’t bc they’re super close!

much to the surprise of anyone who knows her, she attended usc and majored in international relations which is basically what her parents forced her to do and di she actually learn anything or was it all paid off? you decide! anyway, college is where she discovered two of her favorite things: hooking up with men & cheering.

while in university she became a usc song girl (their cheer team) and there was little that brought her as much joy. she felt like it was something she was finally good at on her own that brought her happiness (aka not something her parents expected her to do or that she did for the pleasure of others).

despite being from california, it became her goal to become a dallas cowboys cheerleader because they’re the most famous + she thinks they have the cutest cheerleaders. money will get you absolutely anything but phoebe is genuinely talented at cheering. both help. so, go cowboys! (idk anything about football ooc pls don’t come for me).

how did she end up on love island? she was a fan and she has a very tantalizing profile, obviously.

anyway, she’s very sweet but also kind of dumb. she doesn’t have the best grip on reality or the best social queues but she always means well. phoebe genuinely wants to find love on the show (booooo) because she doesn’t need the money.

“i’m feeling alright, honestly. i know that i was being sad and mopey last night but if it isn’t in the cards for me to stay then it’s not for me. besides, maybe i’ll go on a cruise after this or something to get my mind off of everything.”

“of course, not! that’s pretty much been confirmed to me now.”

”absolutely, that has been my favorite part of being here. i feel very close to mali, i’m sure that’s obvious. i really do hope that the two of us can still be friends after the show is over because i enjoy being around her and i think that she enjoys being around me, too. josh has been very nice to me as well but i think that’s just because he felt bad for me.”

“i would miss mali the most.” there’s no universe in which phoebe believes that mali wouldn’t get picked unless all of these people are dumber than she is. "frankie and josh, too, but she’s basically my best friend here.”

“i would love to meet jenny and ask her who does her hair, her roots are absolutely never showing and i’m jealous.” 

HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT THE ODDS OF YOUR OTHER BOMBSHELLS? WHO DO YOU THINK HAS MADE THE BEST CONNECTIONS?

“i think dylan is definitely going to pick adela and i’m happy for her, i know she really wanted to get picked. i hope mali gets picked as well. i said from the beginning that both adela and mali know how to play the game way better than i ever could so those two just wouldn’t be surprising. i’m sure miles is going back with frankie, i know that he really wanted to get picked, too. i’m glad i’ll get to watch him on tv from now on, though, i’ll definitely be rooting for the two of them. if i’m being honest, i can see all of them having great odds and i’ll be their biggest cheerleader on the outside.”

Dylan lets out a chuckle at how quickly he succumbs to the fact that she’s going to be thrown in the pool. Honestly, he didn’t think she’d put up much of a fight, though it might’ve made things a little more fun and exciting. But this is fine, too. “I will jump in right behind you. I can’t miss out on NFL gossip, you know. Been waiting for that since day one.” He takes a few steps closer to her, picking her up effortlessly and walking to the edge of the pool. “Don’t you regret insisting on this now? I gave you an out.” He doesn’t give her a chance to reply before he throws her into the pool, chuckling again before he dives right behind her.

Fair’s fair and she’s not about to fight him on something that they both agreed on. This is one of the things that Phoebe likes about Dylan, the way it seems easy to banter or play around with him and he doesn’t seem to be the type of person who takes himself super seriously. She can see the two of them just having a chill time while they’re on the show which she assumes would come as a relief to him compared to everything else he’s been through but she also doesn’t want to get ahead of herself because she knows there are plenty of bombshells who are a thousand times more entertaining than she is. “I don’t regret it.” She laughs as she comes back up for air, trying her best to get her hair out of her face, her only regret is not putting it into a bun before starting their race. “I think it was pretty fun.” As she makes her way over to Dylan, Mali’s words are in the back of her head, mixed with some rendition of what Josh said to her and with her eyes set on him, Phoebe shyly leans in, gently pressing her lips against his.

JOSH CAN’T ARGUE WITH HER THERE, because he would’ve thought that dylan would want someone understanding and slow-moving, considering the way he feels mugged off by naomi right now. but if dylan isn’t showing phoebe as much interest as he expected, does that mean dylan isn’t interested in anyone here ?   “ you should tell him how you feel, ”   he offers to her, gently. he can’t help but feel bad for the girl, sure that being a casa bombshell isn’t easy, especially one who’s looking for the real deal.   “ or maybe get to know some of the other people here. have you talked to bash at all ? ”   since she likes nice guys.   “ you’re way too gorgeous to be ignored, and that’s me being for real with you. ”   like, it’s not a line.

Phoebe wants to talk to Dylan but she’s afraid that’s going to come out as her being pushy when from the very beginning she’d basically said they could take it at whatever pace he wanted to go. She just has this fear after seeing him kiss the other girls in the challenge that he’s going to blindside her. Not because it made her jealous, she knows it’s just a challenge, but because she knows out of the three of them, she’s the least enticing. “I feel like it’s a little late for getting to know other people here, I think almost everyone seems to have already formed their connections.” The next person on her ‘list’ after Dylan was Marcus who is all but married off now. “If I had told you that I wanted to get to know you from day one, would you have been interested?” This, at least on her end, isn’t a line either, she feels a little pathetic grasping for some validation.

“Just wait five minutes. I’ll prove it to you and you’ll be swallowing your words,” he says with a smug expression, before his eyebrow quirks in amusement watching her finger trail down his chest. It’s a little surprising coming from Phoebe, given he hasn’t seen a flirty side to her in any of their conversations even when he had tried to flirt. He folds his arms when he waits for her to slip off her flip flops, a smile on his features at how seriously she’s taking this and how she’s so going to lose. He warned her! He walks over and stands next to her. “On the count of three, yeah?” He waits to get her nod before he counts down, immediately sprinting at his go! He’s not going to go easy on her if she’s being so competitive. It’s not a long run to the pool, but he gets there first, turning to face her when she gets there. “I won’t tell you I told you so, but…” he trails off. “You’re going to get thrown in the pool, Phoebe.”

She’s trying her best to remember everything that she talked about with Mali while at the same time remaining true to who she is. That is proving a lot harder because she feels as if she has to be two people at the same time but she’ll continue to try if she thinks it will get Dylan to like her more which is her end goal after all. Though she doesn’t come too far behind him, it’s clear that he’s won and he did warn her after all, therefore she can’t exactly protest. Maybe another time she’d throw around something about it not being fair but she thinks Dylan likes to play by the rules. “Well, as long as you’re going to end up in there with me regardless.” Phoebe spreads her arms a part a little, forming a sort of T-like shape, making it easier for him to grab her if that’s what he’s going to do and closing her eyes in anticipation of the splash that’s about to hit her.

“and you’ve continued to make that known?” mali knows phoebe’s been focusing dylan, but she’s just so sweet, she’s not sure he knows that. from how phoebe speaks about flirting, they’re just not too sure. “darling, his head’s been spun around by this entire ordeal. the fact that he’s looking to know you at all is an amazing sign,” she reaches over to touch the other girl’s arm, hyping her up with a note of sympathy in her face. they want phoebe to be confident about her feelings. “i might,” she giggles, all in good fun. she can look like an idiot so long as it’s getting her followers, frankly. she’ll be the villain if she has to. “i know, truly. i’m in another league,” they sigh, a toss of her hair, before she dissolves into a laugh. “it’s just difficult, because i feel like he likes me, but i don’t know that it’s enough for him.” 

“Yes, I have. We had this whole conversation where I told him I wasn’t sure if he liked me and he assured me that he did but...I don’t know, maybe I’m just paranoid because I feel like the end of casa is coming at us pretty quickly and, well, I don’t know that he’ll pick me.” Which is something that Phoebe was aware of from the beginning, the possibility of Dylan not choosing her, but she figured that would be obvious because he wouldn’t even give her the time of day and instead he’s been nothing but kind to her. Kindness, however, doesn’t necessarily equal attraction. Still, she appreciates how Mali is trying to make her feel. “You are in another league.” Blonde curls bob up and down as Phoebe nods her head. “Yeah, that sounds hard. Men are so difficult to read.”

“ AND IT DOESN’T COME EASY FOR YOU ?   nah, i don’t believe that, ”   he flashes her a toothy grin. he really can’t believe it, having no idea how someone as gorgeous as her can’t see it.   “ he’d be stupid, ”   josh doesn’t back down, eyes finding hers so she can see that he means it. he doesn’t mean to make it blush, although that’s what he takes the heat in her cheeks to be  ( not because of his question ) .   “ so, sounds like you gotta change that, ”   he points it out, reaching for his moisturizer.   “ dylan’s great, but he’s a little slow at this stuff. i think he just needs a push. ”   as if they’re best friends. 

Everything recently makes Phoebe feel as if she’s going about the entire situation the wrong way when she thought she was doing rather well. She hasn’t wanted to push Dylan because that feels like too much too soon but everyone keeps telling her that’s exactly what she should have been doing all along. “Well...yeah but...” She doesn’t necessarily want to be having this conversation with Josh but maybe he’s the perfect person to. “I figured with Dylan it would be better to go about it differently than with every guy I’ve talked to in the past.” Meaning, mostly gross men. “I was just trying to be understanding cause I know his time in here hasn’t been the easiest.” Not that anyone’s has but she likes him!

“have you at least told him you want to get to know him?” she asks, raising her eyebrows. phoebe had said she wasn’t good at flirting, but mali hopes she’s laid some groundwork. “maybe that is what he likes, but don’t be afraid to tell him how you feel either.” there’s a little sigh and a shrug, shaking her head. “oh, i’m sure i look like a complete idiot to anyone watching, right?” she asks, giggling a little. “no, it’s going fine. he’s still flirty, but on guard, clearly.” 

“Yes, I told him that the first time we talked.” She’s made it pretty clear that she’s interested in Dylan, at least of that she’s very certain. “I don’t know, I feel like it’d be nice to see him put some effort outside of the challenges, but I’m the one that’s supposed to be grafting after all, I guess.” This has been very fun thus far but the more time drags on the less she feels like she’s actually going to get to stay. “You do not look like an idiot.” Phoebe has never heard anything so ridiculous! “Flirty seems to be his personality. He’d be such an idiot not to feel completely honored that you’re even giving him the time of day.”

JOSH WOULD SAY THAT’S PRETTY OBVIOUS, YEAH.   “ what are you talking about ? ”   he cleans off his toothbrush, before putting it away.   “ don’t talk like that, you gotta have confidence. you’re, like, this super hot cheerleader who seems like by far the nicest person here. he’d be stupid not to be into you. ”   but now josh worries that she might have a point, and dylan and phoebe aren’t as much of a done deal as he thought.   “ have you guys kissed yet ?   outside of a challenge. ”

“Well, thank you for saying that but you’re, like, this insanely hot guy obviously confidence comes easy to you.” It’s not as if Phoebe isn’t aware of that or hasn’t heard that her whole life and yet she’s still single and on this pretty ridiculous show. “I don’t know that he’d be stupid, though, it’s his choice after all.” So far, she’s feeling like his choice is pointing in a direction that doesn’t necessarily scream Phoebe! Josh’s question produces a blush on her face. “No. Not outside of a challenge.”

THERE’S A LONG PAUSE BETWEEN PHOEBE’S QUESTION and josh being able to answer, spent by josh brushing his teeth. after finally spitting, he shrugs.   “ each other ? ”   he thinks that seems kind of obvious about what he’s asking.   “ seems like you really like him, i mean. does he know ? ”

“I’m...well...” She’s not sure how to phrase what she’s trying to say and she’s not sure what she’s trying to say in the first place. “I really like him. He’s the person I wanted to prioritize since the beginning, I think that’s pretty obvious but I’m not so sure he likes me all that much.” It stings to say but it’s also the truth. “Not that I blame him ‘cause obviously he’s been through a lot of stuff in here and I’m barely coming in but, well, there’s no part of me that’s envisioning he’ll pick me at the end of all of this.”

“True, the terrace is as mysterious as it can go.” He’s gotten used to not having that much privacy during his conversations, at least the terrace offers that privacy when it’s essential. They are on live TV, after all. The whole world’s watching. “Because I always win,” he answers matter-of-factly. “Ask Frankie.” He chuckles at her sudden competitiveness, quirking his eyebrow down at her. “If you don’t want a head start, then you don’t get a head start. I was just being generous and kind.” He places a hand to his heart. “You won’t throw me in the pool. If anything, it’s you who sounds scared, you’re just acting otherwise.” He looks down at her finger poking his stomach, before he looks back at her. “Last chance…” She’s going to totally regret not taking it if she doesn’t.

“Oh, I always win, he says.” Phoebe wiggles her eyebrows playfully at him, trailing her finger down his chest before pulling her hand away. “Wait, wait...” She grabs onto a nearby chair, slipping her flip flops off because she knows there’s no way she’s going to manage to run even halfway decently that way. All they’re going to manage to do is trip her up and she’s being serious about this. Mostly because it will mean getting to spend more time with him and that’s all she wants. “I’m not letting you give me a head start.” It’s her final answer. “So, c’mon.” The blonde motions for him to go stand beside her that way they’re starting at an equal spot.

“good, good,” she nods approvingly, her eyes flickering around the kitchen, looking for something more to busy herself with. “darling, you can’t exactly wait,” she points out, tilting her head. “we don’t have the luxury of time here, you’ve got to do something, or one of the others might.” nevermind that she’s been flirting with the same man. she will not be bringing that up now. 

“You’re right.” Of course she is, Mali is so smart! “I’ve sort of been been trying to play it cool because I felt like that’s what Dylan wanted but maybe all the challenge kisses and stuff should actually mean more to me.” Phoebe’s just a romantic who would love for Dylan to make the first move, really. “How are things going with Josh?” She feels as if she hasn’t talked about him since the two slept on the couch together.

“Around,” he imitates her tone, looking around the villa. “That sounds very mysterious.” He chuckles lightly, crossing his arms over his chest. He’s been doing better today, feels a little more like himself. Talking with the bombshells is a good distraction, but he definitely still needs to figure out where his head’s at and he’s hoping today will give him a better idea on where he wants to go. “Hm, not a race per se, because I’ll win that one. It’s more so I’m giving you a head start to get there before I do or else I’m throwing you in. Time’s ticking, Phoebe.” He taps on his wrist, as if he’s wearing a watch there.

“There’s not a lot of places around here to be mysterious.” Phoebe points out, though she sort of likes that. The fact that if anything happens between anyone, it’s pretty much out on the open. There isn’t much room for people to try and one up each other even if they still attempt to. It always seems to fall short. “How do you know that you’ll win?” Her eyebrows lift, hands on her hips as she looks up at him. “That hardly sounds fair. I don’t need you to give me a head start, maybe it’s going to be me throwing you in the pool.” He said he wanted to see her be competitive and that’s only partially why she’s playing into this, mostly she’s being serious because she doesn’t actually think he can beat her by that much. “C’mon, are you scared?” The blonde bats her lashes at him, poking his stomach (god, those abs) playfully with her finger.

– SEE, THIS IS WHY YOU ASK A GIRL. miles hadn’t even thought of that. “ yeah, hopefully. i mean, she did kiss some other people that weren’t me – clearly i’m not the only one interested in ‘er, ” he thinks out loud. “ but i probably should bring up the callie thing. i haven’t wanted to, because it seemed like such a vibe killer, but … it’s the third day, and clearly something else is killing the vibes anyway, right ? ” he offers. “ is that kind of what it’s like with dylan ? ” 

“Yeah but if you’re the one that she’s mainly interested in then that’s different. Kissing people and actually feeling a connection to them is way different.” At least, in her eyes it is but she can’t speak to how Frankie might actually be feeling. Maybe she’ll pull her aside later and try to talk about it but she does believe Miles will get through to her. “Well, we talked about Naomi sort of right away on the first day but he said that he’d had a talk with her and they were on the same page. I’m not sure what page that is ‘cause I’m assuming if he wants to be loyal to her he wouldn’t share a bed with me or kiss anyone else.” Phoebe shrugs. “I guess I also have to talk to him but it’s very daunting.”

Dylan was hoping today would be easier in terms of figuring out where his head’s at. It isn’t. He’s still at a place where he’s been getting to know people, seeing if he can find something real and worth exploring. His options are pretty clear, and he made them clear yesterday when Mali dared him to kiss three people. He’s his usual chatty self today. “Hey, Phoebe. Where have you been hiding?” He smiles. He’s not yet properly spoken to Phoebe outside of this morning. He had a good sleep with her. They didn’t do much besides cuddle, but also that’s what Dylan felt was right and natural considering where his head’s at when it comes to Phoebe and the point at which their connection is at. “I do owe you one. I haven’t forgotten. I reckon you should beat me to the pool or I’ll just throw you in. I warned you.”

“Oh, you know, just...around.” When she says this she sways a little on her heels, body shifting from side to side in a little dance. Dylan makes her nervous but it’s in the best way possible. Like, she wants to be seen by him but at the same time she never wants to know what he’s thinking about her for fear it’s anything less than special. Phoebe wants more than anything to be liked by him, to be picked by him, but she won’t push him to get there. It’s enough to get to stand here and admire him. Not just the fact that he’s incredibly handsome but that he’s funny and sweet. “Are you challenging me to a race to the pool, Dylan?” Her eyebrows lift, thoughts interrupted by the idea because it sounds fun.

– “HEY,” HE GRINS, HANDS CRADLING THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AS HE LEANS BACK. the way phoebe says frankie’s name makes him cheese even harder, can’t help it. though he has to shrug a little at her question, though he’s glad she asked. he could use a girl’s perspective. miles shifts his position now, leaning down closer to her. “ pretty good, i think. we kissed on the terrace after the game. and in bed last night, ” he explains. “ she’s mad cool. i like her a lot. but she got all weird about it during the night, put this barrier between us in the bed like – don’t touch. i’ve got no idea what i did wrong … probably something. ” 

“Oh.” Phoebe’s face is laced with confusion for a brief moment, mostly because she doesn’t understand how someone wouldn’t immediately jump at the opportunity to be involved with Miles. “Maybe she got in her head about the kisses. She’s still technically with Callie, isn’t she?” As fun as things might be for the bombshells and as simple, she knows the other islanders have a lot more to worry about which is why she tries to be so patient with Dylan.

“ YEAH ?   I BET. ”   josh smirks to himself in the mirror, reaching for his toothbrush. he’s a little desperate for the dirty details between her and dylan, but it’s not like either of the two halves would be willing to tell josh of all people. if anything, he might actually have a better chance with dylan.   “ i slept well, ”   he nods, putting the toothpaste on his brush.   “ can’t complain. ”   it was no night of getting laid on the couch, but it was nice to be back in a bed, with some personal space.   “ are you and dylan serious ? ”   he can’t resist the question, before he starts brushing his teeth.

“That’s nice.” Phoebe isn’t too sure what Josh’s whole deal is. She knows that he hasn’t gotten the best edit on screen but she’s trying not to let that affect how she feels about him. He’s really hot and he has that going for him but even she knows enough not to try and mess with him if she wants a genuine shot with Dylan. “I don’t know.” Her nose scrunches, looking at him through the mirror. “Are we serious about what?”
