PHOEBE RICHARDSON (female, she/her, zoey deutch) is 25 and an NFL CHEERLEADER from NAPA, CALIFORNIA, but now they can be found in CASA VILLA. they are known as THE DITZ because they are A SWEETHEART, but if things kick off, they can be a bit ALOOF. theyâre STRAIGHT and are most interested in grafting DYLAN & MARCUS. one thing they want to accomplish in casa amor is FIND THE ONE. (  matching yoga sets, making green juice at five in the morning, & having the perfect manicure  )
phoebe was born and raised in napa, california. her parents own/manage a vineyard that has been in the family for many generations. she grew up in this sort of perfect bubble because, well, sheâs wealthy as fuck. her family would go on vacations to vail & chamonix for skiing in the winter and fiji & sydney in the summer.
she has always been very into sports mostly because it was the way her family would bond growing up (and now as well, lbr). sheâs great at skiing, snowboarding, surfing, probably played on a soccer team during her school years.
she has an older sister whom she adores and who is going to take over the family business after their parents retire. she majored in business and finance (her sister, not phoebs) and honestly could backstab phoebe in the future and keep all the money but probably wouldnât bc theyâre super close!
much to the surprise of anyone who knows her, she attended usc and majored in international relations which is basically what her parents forced her to do and di she actually learn anything or was it all paid off? you decide! anyway, college is where she discovered two of her favorite things: hooking up with men & cheering.
while in university she became a usc song girl (their cheer team) and there was little that brought her as much joy. she felt like it was something she was finally good at on her own that brought her happiness (aka not something her parents expected her to do or that she did for the pleasure of others).
despite being from california, it became her goal to become a dallas cowboys cheerleader because theyâre the most famous + she thinks they have the cutest cheerleaders. money will get you absolutely anything but phoebe is genuinely talented at cheering. both help. so, go cowboys! (idk anything about football ooc pls donât come for me).
how did she end up on love island? she was a fan and she has a very tantalizing profile, obviously.
anyway, sheâs very sweet but also kind of dumb. she doesnât have the best grip on reality or the best social queues but she always means well. phoebe genuinely wants to find love on the show (booooo) because she doesnât need the money.
âwill this be over in time for me to get dinner at a nice restaurant later?âÂ
HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT THE RECOUPLING TONIGHT?
âiâm feeling alright, honestly. i know that i was being sad and mopey last night but if it isnât in the cards for me to stay then itâs not for me. besides, maybe iâll go on a cruise after this or something to get my mind off of everything.âÂ
DO YOU THINK THAT YOUâLL BE BROUGHT BACK? BY WHO?
âof course, not! thatâs pretty much been confirmed to me now.âÂ
DO YOU THINK YOUâVE MADE STRONG CONNECTIONS IN THE VILLA?
âabsolutely, that has been my favorite part of being here. i feel very close to mali, iâm sure thatâs obvious. i really do hope that the two of us can still be friends after the show is over because i enjoy being around her and i think that she enjoys being around me, too. josh has been very nice to me as well but i think thatâs just because he felt bad for me.âÂ
IF YOU DONâT COME BACK TO THE VILLA, WHICH ISLANDER WOULD YOU MISS THE MOST?
âi would miss mali the most.â thereâs no universe in which phoebe believes that mali wouldnât get picked unless all of these people are dumber than she is. "frankie and josh, too, but sheâs basically my best friend here.âÂ
WHO WOULD YOU BE THE MOST EXCITED TO MEET FROM THE OPPOSITE VILLA?
âi would love to meet jenny and ask her who does her hair, her roots are absolutely never showing and iâm jealous.âÂ
HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT THE ODDS OF YOUR OTHER BOMBSHELLS? WHO DO YOU THINK HAS MADE THE BEST CONNECTIONS?
âi think dylan is definitely going to pick adela and iâm happy for her, i know she really wanted to get picked. i hope mali gets picked as well. i said from the beginning that both adela and mali know how to play the game way better than i ever could so those two just wouldnât be surprising. iâm sure miles is going back with frankie, i know that he really wanted to get picked, too. iâm glad iâll get to watch him on tv from now on, though, iâll definitely be rooting for the two of them. if iâm being honest, i can see all of them having great odds and iâll be their biggest cheerleader on the outside.âÂ
Dylan lets out a chuckle at how quickly he succumbs to the fact that sheâs going to be thrown in the pool. Honestly, he didnât think sheâd put up much of a fight, though it mightâve made things a little more fun and exciting. But this is fine, too. âI will jump in right behind you. I canât miss out on NFL gossip, you know. Been waiting for that since day one.â He takes a few steps closer to her, picking her up effortlessly and walking to the edge of the pool. âDonât you regret insisting on this now? I gave you an out.â He doesnât give her a chance to reply before he throws her into the pool, chuckling again before he dives right behind her.
Fairâs fair and sheâs not about to fight him on something that they both agreed on. This is one of the things that Phoebe likes about Dylan, the way it seems easy to banter or play around with him and he doesnât seem to be the type of person who takes himself super seriously. She can see the two of them just having a chill time while theyâre on the show which she assumes would come as a relief to him compared to everything else heâs been through but she also doesnât want to get ahead of herself because she knows there are plenty of bombshells who are a thousand times more entertaining than she is. âI donât regret it.â She laughs as she comes back up for air, trying her best to get her hair out of her face, her only regret is not putting it into a bun before starting their race. âI think it was pretty fun.â As she makes her way over to Dylan, Maliâs words are in the back of her head, mixed with some rendition of what Josh said to her and with her eyes set on him, Phoebe shyly leans in, gently pressing her lips against his.Â
JOSH CANâT ARGUE WITH HER THERE, because he wouldâve thought that dylan would want someone understanding and slow-moving, considering the way he feels mugged off by naomi right now. but if dylan isnât showing phoebe as much interest as he expected, does that mean dylan isnât interested in anyone here ?  â you should tell him how you feel, â  he offers to her, gently. he canât help but feel bad for the girl, sure that being a casa bombshell isnât easy, especially one whoâs looking for the real deal.  â or maybe get to know some of the other people here. have you talked to bash at all ? â  since she likes nice guys.  â youâre way too gorgeous to be ignored, and thatâs me being for real with you. â  like, itâs not a line.
Phoebe wants to talk to Dylan but sheâs afraid thatâs going to come out as her being pushy when from the very beginning sheâd basically said they could take it at whatever pace he wanted to go. She just has this fear after seeing him kiss the other girls in the challenge that heâs going to blindside her. Not because it made her jealous, she knows itâs just a challenge, but because she knows out of the three of them, sheâs the least enticing. âI feel like itâs a little late for getting to know other people here, I think almost everyone seems to have already formed their connections.â The next person on her âlistâ after Dylan was Marcus who is all but married off now. âIf I had told you that I wanted to get to know you from day one, would you have been interested?â This, at least on her end, isnât a line either, she feels a little pathetic grasping for some validation.Â
âJust wait five minutes. Iâll prove it to you and youâll be swallowing your words,â he says with a smug expression, before his eyebrow quirks in amusement watching her finger trail down his chest. Itâs a little surprising coming from Phoebe, given he hasnât seen a flirty side to her in any of their conversations even when he had tried to flirt. He folds his arms when he waits for her to slip off her flip flops, a smile on his features at how seriously sheâs taking this and how sheâs so going to lose. He warned her! He walks over and stands next to her. âOn the count of three, yeah?â He waits to get her nod before he counts down, immediately sprinting at his go! Heâs not going to go easy on her if sheâs being so competitive. Itâs not a long run to the pool, but he gets there first, turning to face her when she gets there. âI wonât tell you I told you so, butâŠâ he trails off. âYouâre going to get thrown in the pool, Phoebe.â
Sheâs trying her best to remember everything that she talked about with Mali while at the same time remaining true to who she is. That is proving a lot harder because she feels as if she has to be two people at the same time but sheâll continue to try if she thinks it will get Dylan to like her more which is her end goal after all. Though she doesnât come too far behind him, itâs clear that heâs won and he did warn her after all, therefore she canât exactly protest. Maybe another time sheâd throw around something about it not being fair but she thinks Dylan likes to play by the rules. âWell, as long as youâre going to end up in there with me regardless.â Phoebe spreads her arms a part a little, forming a sort of T-like shape, making it easier for him to grab her if thatâs what heâs going to do and closing her eyes in anticipation of the splash thatâs about to hit her.Â
âand youâve continued to make that known?â mali knows phoebeâs been focusing dylan, but sheâs just so sweet, sheâs not sure he knows that. from how phoebe speaks about flirting, theyâre just not too sure. âdarling, his headâs been spun around by this entire ordeal. the fact that heâs looking to know you at all is an amazing sign,â she reaches over to touch the other girlâs arm, hyping her up with a note of sympathy in her face. they want phoebe to be confident about her feelings. âi might,â she giggles, all in good fun. she can look like an idiot so long as itâs getting her followers, frankly. sheâll be the villain if she has to. âi know, truly. iâm in another league,â they sigh, a toss of her hair, before she dissolves into a laugh. âitâs just difficult, because i feel like he likes me, but i donât know that itâs enough for him.âÂ
âYes, I have. We had this whole conversation where I told him I wasnât sure if he liked me and he assured me that he did but...I donât know, maybe Iâm just paranoid because I feel like the end of casa is coming at us pretty quickly and, well, I donât know that heâll pick me.â Which is something that Phoebe was aware of from the beginning, the possibility of Dylan not choosing her, but she figured that would be obvious because he wouldnât even give her the time of day and instead heâs been nothing but kind to her. Kindness, however, doesnât necessarily equal attraction. Still, she appreciates how Mali is trying to make her feel. âYou are in another league.â Blonde curls bob up and down as Phoebe nods her head. âYeah, that sounds hard. Men are so difficult to read.âÂ
â AND IT DOESNâT COME EASY FOR YOU ?  nah, i donât believe that, â  he flashes her a toothy grin. he really canât believe it, having no idea how someone as gorgeous as her canât see it.  â heâd be stupid, â  josh doesnât back down, eyes finding hers so she can see that he means it. he doesnât mean to make it blush, although thatâs what he takes the heat in her cheeks to be ( not because of his question ) .  â so, sounds like you gotta change that, â  he points it out, reaching for his moisturizer.  â dylanâs great, but heâs a little slow at this stuff. i think he just needs a push. â  as if theyâre best friends.Â
Everything recently makes Phoebe feel as if sheâs going about the entire situation the wrong way when she thought she was doing rather well. She hasnât wanted to push Dylan because that feels like too much too soon but everyone keeps telling her thatâs exactly what she should have been doing all along. âWell...yeah but...â She doesnât necessarily want to be having this conversation with Josh but maybe heâs the perfect person to. âI figured with Dylan it would be better to go about it differently than with every guy Iâve talked to in the past.â Meaning, mostly gross men. âI was just trying to be understanding cause I know his time in here hasnât been the easiest.â Not that anyoneâs has but she likes him!
âhave you at least told him you want to get to know him?â she asks, raising her eyebrows. phoebe had said she wasnât good at flirting, but mali hopes sheâs laid some groundwork. âmaybe that is what he likes, but donât be afraid to tell him how you feel either.â thereâs a little sigh and a shrug, shaking her head. âoh, iâm sure i look like a complete idiot to anyone watching, right?â she asks, giggling a little. âno, itâs going fine. heâs still flirty, but on guard, clearly.âÂ
âYes, I told him that the first time we talked.â Sheâs made it pretty clear that sheâs interested in Dylan, at least of that sheâs very certain. âI donât know, I feel like itâd be nice to see him put some effort outside of the challenges, but Iâm the one thatâs supposed to be grafting after all, I guess.â This has been very fun thus far but the more time drags on the less she feels like sheâs actually going to get to stay. âYou do not look like an idiot.â Phoebe has never heard anything so ridiculous! âFlirty seems to be his personality. Heâd be such an idiot not to feel completely honored that youâre even giving him the time of day.âÂ
JOSH WOULD SAY THATâS PRETTY OBVIOUS, YEAH.  â what are you talking about ? â  he cleans off his toothbrush, before putting it away.  â donât talk like that, you gotta have confidence. youâre, like, this super hot cheerleader who seems like by far the nicest person here. heâd be stupid not to be into you. â  but now josh worries that she might have a point, and dylan and phoebe arenât as much of a done deal as he thought.  â have you guys kissed yet ?  outside of a challenge. â
âWell, thank you for saying that but youâre, like, this insanely hot guy obviously confidence comes easy to you.â Itâs not as if Phoebe isnât aware of that or hasnât heard that her whole life and yet sheâs still single and on this pretty ridiculous show. âI donât know that heâd be stupid, though, itâs his choice after all.â So far, sheâs feeling like his choice is pointing in a direction that doesnât necessarily scream Phoebe! Joshâs question produces a blush on her face. âNo. Not outside of a challenge.âÂ
THEREâS A LONG PAUSE BETWEEN PHOEBEâS QUESTION and josh being able to answer, spent by josh brushing his teeth. after finally spitting, he shrugs.  â each other ? â  he thinks that seems kind of obvious about what heâs asking.  â seems like you really like him, i mean. does he know ? â
âIâm...well...â Sheâs not sure how to phrase what sheâs trying to say and sheâs not sure what sheâs trying to say in the first place. âI really like him. Heâs the person I wanted to prioritize since the beginning, I think thatâs pretty obvious but Iâm not so sure he likes me all that much.â It stings to say but itâs also the truth. âNot that I blame him âcause obviously heâs been through a lot of stuff in here and Iâm barely coming in but, well, thereâs no part of me thatâs envisioning heâll pick me at the end of all of this.âÂ
âTrue, the terrace is as mysterious as it can go.â Heâs gotten used to not having that much privacy during his conversations, at least the terrace offers that privacy when itâs essential. They are on live TV, after all. The whole worldâs watching. âBecause I always win,â he answers matter-of-factly. âAsk Frankie.â He chuckles at her sudden competitiveness, quirking his eyebrow down at her. âIf you donât want a head start, then you donât get a head start. I was just being generous and kind.â He places a hand to his heart. âYou wonât throw me in the pool. If anything, itâs you who sounds scared, youâre just acting otherwise.â He looks down at her finger poking his stomach, before he looks back at her. âLast chanceâŠâ Sheâs going to totally regret not taking it if she doesnât.
âOh, I always win, he says.â Phoebe wiggles her eyebrows playfully at him, trailing her finger down his chest before pulling her hand away. âWait, wait...â She grabs onto a nearby chair, slipping her flip flops off because she knows thereâs no way sheâs going to manage to run even halfway decently that way. All theyâre going to manage to do is trip her up and sheâs being serious about this. Mostly because it will mean getting to spend more time with him and thatâs all she wants. âIâm not letting you give me a head start.â Itâs her final answer. âSo, câmon.â The blonde motions for him to go stand beside her that way theyâre starting at an equal spot.Â
âgood, good,â she nods approvingly, her eyes flickering around the kitchen, looking for something more to busy herself with. âdarling, you canât exactly wait,â she points out, tilting her head. âwe donât have the luxury of time here, youâve got to do something, or one of the others might.â nevermind that sheâs been flirting with the same man. she will not be bringing that up now.Â
âYouâre right.â Of course she is, Mali is so smart! âIâve sort of been been trying to play it cool because I felt like thatâs what Dylan wanted but maybe all the challenge kisses and stuff should actually mean more to me.â Phoebeâs just a romantic who would love for Dylan to make the first move, really. âHow are things going with Josh?â She feels as if she hasnât talked about him since the two slept on the couch together.Â
âAround,â he imitates her tone, looking around the villa. âThat sounds very mysterious.â He chuckles lightly, crossing his arms over his chest. Heâs been doing better today, feels a little more like himself. Talking with the bombshells is a good distraction, but he definitely still needs to figure out where his headâs at and heâs hoping today will give him a better idea on where he wants to go. âHm, not a race per se, because Iâll win that one. Itâs more so Iâm giving you a head start to get there before I do or else Iâm throwing you in. Timeâs ticking, Phoebe.â He taps on his wrist, as if heâs wearing a watch there.
âThereâs not a lot of places around here to be mysterious.â Phoebe points out, though she sort of likes that. The fact that if anything happens between anyone, itâs pretty much out on the open. There isnât much room for people to try and one up each other even if they still attempt to. It always seems to fall short. âHow do you know that youâll win?â Her eyebrows lift, hands on her hips as she looks up at him. âThat hardly sounds fair. I donât need you to give me a head start, maybe itâs going to be me throwing you in the pool.â He said he wanted to see her be competitive and thatâs only partially why sheâs playing into this, mostly sheâs being serious because she doesnât actually think he can beat her by that much. âCâmon, are you scared?â The blonde bats her lashes at him, poking his stomach (god, those abs) playfully with her finger.Â
â SEE, THIS IS WHY YOU ASK A GIRL. miles hadnât even thought of that. â yeah, hopefully. i mean, she did kiss some other people that werenât me â clearly iâm not the only one interested in âer, â he thinks out loud. â but i probably should bring up the callie thing. i havenât wanted to, because it seemed like such a vibe killer, but ⊠itâs the third day, and clearly something else is killing the vibes anyway, right ? â he offers. â is that kind of what itâs like with dylan ? âÂ
âYeah but if youâre the one that sheâs mainly interested in then thatâs different. Kissing people and actually feeling a connection to them is way different.â At least, in her eyes it is but she canât speak to how Frankie might actually be feeling. Maybe sheâll pull her aside later and try to talk about it but she does believe Miles will get through to her. âWell, we talked about Naomi sort of right away on the first day but he said that heâd had a talk with her and they were on the same page. Iâm not sure what page that is âcause Iâm assuming if he wants to be loyal to her he wouldnât share a bed with me or kiss anyone else.â Phoebe shrugs. âI guess I also have to talk to him but itâs very daunting.âÂ
Dylan was hoping today would be easier in terms of figuring out where his headâs at. It isnât. Heâs still at a place where heâs been getting to know people, seeing if he can find something real and worth exploring. His options are pretty clear, and he made them clear yesterday when Mali dared him to kiss three people. Heâs his usual chatty self today. âHey, Phoebe. Where have you been hiding?â He smiles. Heâs not yet properly spoken to Phoebe outside of this morning. He had a good sleep with her. They didnât do much besides cuddle, but also thatâs what Dylan felt was right and natural considering where his headâs at when it comes to Phoebe and the point at which their connection is at. âI do owe you one. I havenât forgotten. I reckon you should beat me to the pool or Iâll just throw you in. I warned you.â
âOh, you know, just...around.â When she says this she sways a little on her heels, body shifting from side to side in a little dance. Dylan makes her nervous but itâs in the best way possible. Like, she wants to be seen by him but at the same time she never wants to know what heâs thinking about her for fear itâs anything less than special. Phoebe wants more than anything to be liked by him, to be picked by him, but she wonât push him to get there. Itâs enough to get to stand here and admire him. Not just the fact that heâs incredibly handsome but that heâs funny and sweet. âAre you challenging me to a race to the pool, Dylan?â Her eyebrows lift, thoughts interrupted by the idea because it sounds fun.Â
â âHEY,â HE GRINS, HANDS CRADLING THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AS HE LEANS BACK. the way phoebe says frankieâs name makes him cheese even harder, canât help it. though he has to shrug a little at her question, though heâs glad she asked. he could use a girlâs perspective. miles shifts his position now, leaning down closer to her. â pretty good, i think. we kissed on the terrace after the game. and in bed last night, â he explains. â sheâs mad cool. i like her a lot. but she got all weird about it during the night, put this barrier between us in the bed like â donât touch. iâve got no idea what i did wrong ⊠probably something. âÂ
âOh.â Phoebeâs face is laced with confusion for a brief moment, mostly because she doesnât understand how someone wouldnât immediately jump at the opportunity to be involved with Miles. âMaybe she got in her head about the kisses. Sheâs still technically with Callie, isnât she?â As fun as things might be for the bombshells and as simple, she knows the other islanders have a lot more to worry about which is why she tries to be so patient with Dylan.Â
â YEAH ?  I BET. â  josh smirks to himself in the mirror, reaching for his toothbrush. heâs a little desperate for the dirty details between her and dylan, but itâs not like either of the two halves would be willing to tell josh of all people. if anything, he might actually have a better chance with dylan.  â i slept well, â  he nods, putting the toothpaste on his brush.  â canât complain. â  it was no night of getting laid on the couch, but it was nice to be back in a bed, with some personal space.  â are you and dylan serious ? â  he canât resist the question, before he starts brushing his teeth.
âThatâs nice.â Phoebe isnât too sure what Joshâs whole deal is. She knows that he hasnât gotten the best edit on screen but sheâs trying not to let that affect how she feels about him. Heâs really hot and he has that going for him but even she knows enough not to try and mess with him if she wants a genuine shot with Dylan. âI donât know.â Her nose scrunches, looking at him through the mirror. âAre we serious about what?âÂ
