                                the insult to Jim brings his attention to the man,                                 but his appearance is what actually catches his                                 eye. the resemblance to the augment is startling.                                 but he doesn't exactly have the same poise.

        he searches for the vial full of clear liquid and grabs a hypo         from the table beside the biobed. after inserting the vial, he         tugs a bit at the collar of the engineer's shirt and presses         the needle into his skin. it always seemed more professional         to him to insert it directly into the skin, rather than through         clothing like he'd been taught at the Academy.
