I just love how Mike takes both of his fights with Will to heart and actively changes. Like he took those fights to HEART.

Will was mad he stopped playing DND and doing things they loved -> Mike started playing DND again and joined a DND club.

Will was mad that Mike was abandoning the party -> Mike started hanging out with the entire party again and even got upset with Lucas for wanting to ditch the party and DND to do something that was "normal."

Will pointed out that Mike didn't even seem to care about Dustin anymore or where he was and what he was doing -> Mike told Lucas to keep radioing Dustin and stuck by his side during high school (from what we saw at least).

Will made it clear that he wishes they were still best friends and he doesn't like the distance that has grown between them -> Mike offers Will an explanation and tells him how he also wants to be best friends again and how he wants them to be a team and to face whatever is coming next together.

Like Mike really whipped himself into shape FAST both times that Will got angry with him 😭

I feel like (in my opinion) a lot of people misinterpret why Lucas was sad after seeing his friends celebrate winning the DnD campaign.

I don't think he was sad because his friends ditched his game to play DnD, because he already knew they weren't at the game. He saw that there was an empty spot for them.

And, yes, that could've him being hurt by it, but the way he reacts was more a sense of realisation.

I think this is the moment he realises that he isn't happy being popular. That night he finally got what he wanted. He wanted to have his moment, to be part of the team, to feel like a winner. He finally reached "popularity" and yet he isn't happy. Or – he isn't as happy as he would've been winning the campaign with his friends.

Like we see him try to put on a smile when Patrick comes to get him for the party, but it doesn't stick. He isn't happy. This isn't what he wants.

And this is literally confirmed in his monologue to Jason. It's the moment Lucas accepts that he's okay with being a "freak." He's okay with who he is and he doesn't have to change.

This show is an anthem for being different. For accepting who you are. And that's what Lucas's story is.

i hate this cause i did japanese for like a year and this explains the use of the -ne particle WAYYYY better than my teachers ever did. it took me ages to comprehend what this post makes abundantly clear.

my teachers: its like a, a little rise at the end of a sentence, to show that you are seeking a response, while not warranting the -ka particle which would make it a proper question.

fun fact: afaik, "-ne" was inherited from the Portuguese settlers/priests that stayed in Japan in the 16th century. It comes from "né?", which the contraction of "não é?", "isn't it?".

There's something poetic about the fact that Luo Binghe's most prized possession is a fake jade Guanyin pendant--objectively a counterfeit, cheaper version of the original, yes, but something that holds immense emotional value to him because of the kind and loving memories of his mother that he associates with it.

His first and only love is his Shizun, who is, in a sense, similar--a counterfeit, not actually a lofty immortal master, but just a guy who got transported into the body of one. A knockoff, but one that Luo Binghe cherishes dearly because unlike the original, he was kind and loving. He made Binghe feel cared for, once upon a time.

And, at the end of it all, Binghe, after years upon years of having thought he lost his mother's pendant, his Shizun's care, is told that both have been nearer than he ever could have imagined. Shen Qingqiu gives him back the pendant, and says, "stop saying that no one would ever want you," because the pendant is proof, he is proof, that Luo Binghe is loved in this world.

Also when they wanted to show Will having a crush on Mike they showed it in the background for all the past seasons

and people didn't even get that he was gay and had a crush on Mike even after the rain fight and him having a literal breakdown on screen where he ripped in half a picture between him and Mike
