Announcing the DECEMBER 14th opening of the Mundus TES RP Forums!
What is the Mundus?
The Mundus is a selective, lore-intensive Elder Scrolls Roleplay Forum. This forum operates a bit as a collaborative project; it is a shared universe or shared canon, however you prefer to consider it (and thus, by definition, entirely singleverse). Every interaction and every event, every impact your decisions make on the world around you, is canon and can have lasting effects on this version of Tamriel. Here, we encourage individual creativity, worldbuilding, novel ideas and unique characters. Any and all characters from all walks of life are more than welcome, from the simple blacksmith to a past Emperor of Cyrodiil. Having a variety among characters allows the world to be multi-faceted and is more fun for everyone.
What are the features of the forum?
The Mundus spans throughout all eras of The Elder Scrolls timeline, allowing you to write in any point of history that your characters may have been around for. There are sub-forums for the Second Era, the Third Era, the Early Fourth Era and the Late Fourth Era. A First Era sub-forum can be made if there is demand for it.
It also features an events section, where players can - with having presented the idea to the rest of the forum members and gotten approval - create events that are not necessarily canon to the Elder Scrolls but are canon to this universe and affect all characters involved. Events have different tiers of scope, from events that affect only a small handful of characters to ones that affect everyone.
There’s other fun stuff as well; a section for sharing art and writing, a section where a meme is posted weekly for everyone to answer for their characters, one for unique lore and headcanons, and more!
And of course there are character bio pages.
What are you looking for in a character?
Originality. With the cast of characters that we have, there is little that could be considered too outlandish for these forums. What we aren’t looking for are characters who are incredibly overpowered - this isn’t to say that characters with power aren’t welcome, but characters who are the head of the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood and are a part of the College of Winterhold, for example, won’t find a place among this cast. The Elder Scrolls is a series with literal centuries worth of lore to take advantage of and expand upon outside of what’s explicitly shown in the games; be creative!
Applications will open Friday, December 14th*
For more information, please see the Terms of Service. Also feel free to take a look around the forum, but note that not all sections are visible to non-accepted users.
*Technically you can apply before then, but no applications will be accepted until the 14th.

Auri-El, King of the Aldmer, is the elven variant of Akatosh. Auri-El is the soul of Anui-El, who, in turn, is the soul of Anu the Everything. He is the chief of most Aldmeri pantheons. When he formed, time began. [x]

Ecthaen turned at the sound of Varondil’s voice floating through the dining room threshold. Nymhe trailed behind him carrying various breakfast foods on a few precariously balanced platters. He chatted away enthusiastically with Varondil, smiling and commenting when appropriate as they prepared. He idly helped set things up as they preferred to now, all clustered at one end of the long white oak table.
After a few heartbeats, Ecthaen realized he could not understand what was being said. At first he assumed them to be speaking in another language, little sense as it made in retrospect. He tilted his head, trying to concentrate on the words they spoke, but they sounded far away, distorted. They became harder to see as well, as if his eyes were brimming with tears. Unconsciously he lifted a hand to feel for wetness, yet found none.

1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
Ecthaen loved his father. Near the end, after his mother was struck down by Atmorans, he was a shell of himself. Ecthaen wasn’t entirely sure how to deal with it himself, let alone comfort his father. It was an unfortunate growing apart. After he left for the militia, going home seemed less and less of a good idea.
Sintaen was, in all sense of the word, warmhearted. He was often busy, either following his dreams of being a bard or later on taking on squire-like duties for local nobles, so time spent with him was made to feel important. The most notable thing they did together was share their love of music. Ecthaen learned lute and some harp from his father before he got more serious about it.
Influence wise isn’t very noticeable, much to Ecthaen’s friends’ chagrin. They’re different in personality almost entirely, but the music they both made often has the same quality to it.
37. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?
It depends in what sort of way, but he’s good at imagining how things will sound, or how he thinks they should. Audio recall is quite easy for him, often using it to find similar patterns in music or to try to learn something by ear. Visual things, or scenarios, not as much. There have been times in his life where he imagined places far away from the war, but tried not to dwell on them, as it made things more difficult.
Many of his episodes, as he begins mantling, have a daydream-like quality to them, but they’re more so visions and omens than his own creation.
Send me some for character solidifying!
