I lost a “friend” this year. One I’ve held very close to my heart. They were like family. It wasn’t until I became happy with my life and things started to finally look up for me that things between us started to change. My personal life has been amazing that this friend has become distant. You see, some people feed off your pain. When they themselves are miserable they will be there to make themselves feel better. Once they see you’re truly happy and overcome obstacles is when they will distance themselves and find someone who NEEDS them. I suffer with sever depression and anxiety. I became a recluse and shut myself out of the world. She was my only friend. One day I said “ENOUGH!” and chose to push myself to go out, to be myself and stop judging myself. I have overcome so much and losing this friend is the best thing that could have happened. The trash took itself out. This person will no longer bring me down their miserable spiral. You see when you grow as a person those toxic people will weed themselves out and that’s when you cut them out of your life and continue to grow. Beware who you call friends. Love yourself and those who are there for you to support and help you grow.
