Tito looked at home in the kitchen as he moved to grab the various herbs and handing her the pot, “Just fill the water to about here,” He pointed about three quarters of the way. “And put the stove on high.” He nodded at her, “Yes you are going to have to touch it, but we will have to clean our hands after we touch it for sanitation reasons.”

She took the pot, heading to the sink where she filled it to the spot he indicated. It took a moment of her staring at the stove before she reached for a knob, turning it on high. Once that was accomplished, Georgette placed the pot on the burner. Looking at the raw chicken, she made a face. “That’s so gross.”

“I’m honestly more worried about dealing with my groomzilla of a fiancé.” Madelyn pointed out. “If it was just me in charge everything would get done according to plan. However Apollo has all his own opinions.” 

“He’s actually wanting to help?” It was practically unheard of. “I suggest giving him some really basic stuff like...I don’t know. I’ve never planned a wedding. But surely there’s something that won’t effect too much if his choices are wrong.”

“Oh, that sounds perfect,” Vic smiled, nodding. “The Promenade is one of the best places to shop.”

“Right? I feel like I haven’t been in ages.” Of course for Georgette that could only mean a week or so. The blonde was glad to have Victoria back as a constant figure in her life. Growing up together in New York, she’d always seen the younger girl as a sister figure.

Tito leaned his forehead against hers, his eyes fluttering closed. “Well I will follow you until my last breath, so you have time.” He had never cared about where they were or what kind of background she came from. Tito say her for her and that was all he cared about.

She couldn’t help but smile. The man was cheesier than all get out...and surprisingly, Georgette found that she didn’t mind. That didn’t mean she wouldn’t tease him about it though. “You and your silly lines, Alonzo.”

“Exactly!” Vic laughed. She was glad somebody understood. “I am grabbing lunch and shopping with you. Duh.”

“Perfect!” She grinned, pulling out her phone to text Winston. “What about Belle Notte for lunch? It’s been ages since I’ve been there. And then we can head down to the Promenade for some shopping. If that works for you, I mean.”

“Thank you.” Madelyn grinned smugly looking over to her friend. “Now I have to plan the event of the decade and I am just simply already sure I am going to turn into Bridezilla.” Madelyn laughed even though she knew a lot of her wasn’t joking. 

“Hopefully you’ve got a maid of honor who can put up with a Bridezilla then. And bridesmaids with a tough disposition.” Georgette had seen brides push away their bridal party, leading them to do everything alone. “Have you set a date yet?”

“Oh, everyone around her must really want to humiliate her. This is one of the reasons for my trust issues. This incident right here,” Lexie pointed out rather bluntly. It was true that Lexie rarely ever trusted people. Hell, no one knew much about her past, just bits and pieces of the puzzle. “Exactly. She’s gonna spend the rest of her days in small town Southern belle pageants and marry some little Southern rich boy who drinks too much whiskey and will prematurely bald. Poor girl,” She shook her head and tutted, but her shit-eating smirk said volumes. What was compassion? 

“As long as it’s her and not me,” Georgette said with a wicked grin, eyes picking apart the poor soul’s appearance. “I just...I would hope someone would stop me from leaving the house if I looked like that. Friends, the staff. Somebody. Not that I’d ever be caught dead in something like that anyway.” These events were always dull, but it was nice having someone like Lexie to gossip with.

“I doubt that’s any of your business.” Madelyn snatched her hand away with a roll of her eyes. “What kind of barbarian asks something like that without a congratulations of some sort. Really Georgette find your class.” 

Georgette held her hand up in a whatever sort of gesture. “I told Winston to send you guys a flower arrangement. The old man’s losing his touch apparently. Tragic.” She glanced up at the woman, lips curling in a smile. “Congrats, Mads.”

“Yes yes, it is true.” Madelyn smirked as she held up her hand so the other person could see the stunning ring on her finger. “I know it’s brilliant.” She gave a smug look as she examined the ring again herself not really able to stop looking at it. 

“Well the pictures certainly don’t do it justice,” she smiled as she scrolled through her social media for the picture she’d seen. Once she’d found it, Georgette held her hand out to take Madelyn’s in order to get a better glimpse. “How many karats is that?”

“Hmm?” He questioned as someone had spoken to him. He was sitting in the corner of the cafe with a nice hot cup of tea and a croissant. “It’s really coming down out there huh?”

The rain streamed down out the window and Georgette tapped her foot impatiently. There was no way she was going out there while it was still raining. Her hair was perfect and risking that was not an option. “This is awful.” There were things to do. People to see. People to see her and here she was, stuck inside. She was in too much of a funk to even make a rude remark when Benji spoke to her. “Unfortunately so. Do you know when it’s supposed to stop?”

“Okay, I am so glad school is out,” Victoria sighed. First semester of college, done. Now to figure out what she really wants to do while proving that she can take over the family business just as well as her brother could have… That was proving more challenging. “Now I can relax for a little while.”

“Girl tell me about it,” she grinned. School was one of her least favorite things. It got in the way of her favorite things: socializing and shopping. “Hopefully not too much relaxing. You know there is plenty of shopping to do.”

“Oh I love Nessa! She is so wonderful and I still can’t believe she let me design for her.” Sally giggled a bit, “It’s just the truth.”

Her head tilted to the side. If Nessa was willing to work with her, she must have some sort of talent. She loved her best friend but she wouldn’t let anyone work on things with her if they were a risk to her line. “She is just the best. So what are you two working on?”

Lexie leaned over to get a better look before chuckling, “I’d say I feel bad, but she had it coming.” Taking another sip of her drink she eyed the girl. “I highly doubt it. If she claims from the South as she says she is, once a nouveau riche is exposed like this, she won’t be showing her face around here for a long, long time.” 

“Like who let her out of the house wearing that? Does her friends hate her?” Georgette’s parents were rarely home but she made sure she texted her group of friends for confirmation before she wore anything remotely risky. “Might as well pack her bags and head back to whatever small town she’s actually from.”

Tito chuckled slipping some more of his drink before moving towards the kitchen. That was a huge complement coming from her. So he was going to enjoy and savor the moment. “Of course not, I promise you will be a wiz at this when we are done.” He smirked a bit grabbing her hand and leading her towards the kitchen, “First things first, we need to season the chicken and start the water to boil.”

A wiz? She doubted it. But it was time spent with Alonzo without all the pressures of being seen in public and worrying about it getting back to her parents. “You’ve got very high expectations, you know that?” Georgette sighed as she followed him into the kitchen. “Do I have to touch that?” She asked, pointing at the chicken.

“I have never once looked to see if the shoes matched the outfit, so I’ll take your word for it.” His eyes followed her hand movement before shaking his head at her question, to bring his mind back to the present moment. “I am not good with social media honestly. So it’s not very good.” He paused to kiss her forehead chuckling himself. “It’s true though.” He smirked and kissed her again.

“Trust me. It’s terrible.” The girl grimaced just thinking about it. Georgette would never be caught dead in those shoes. Her head tilted to the side. “You should work on that. Social media is really important in marketing these days. Hire someone...or get someone to help out who’s always on it.” There were multiple reasons she wanted him to succeed, and she wasn’t sure if it was more for his sake or hers. She gave him one more kiss before standing up.  Georgette pulled the covers back, patting the bed with a smile. “Come along, Alonzo.”

Tito spun her in a circle before holding her close again, “I’ll try not to forget.” In truth he didn’t and couldn’t forget anything she said. 

Her arms were wrapped around his shoulders, lips curled in a big grin. “I might take some time to remind you,” she teased. Georgette didn’t know what it was about Alonzo. They were from two completely different worlds. Nothing in his matched up with hers but she couldn’t help but want to know more about him and the world he was surrounded in.

“Oh, it’s just called Beebe. It’s a cute little boutique, hard to miss,” Daphne grinned. She nodded at the name. It had been a while since she’d done some shopping that big, but she still had quite a few pieces in her closet. Whether those were still in style was a different question. “Love it. Oh, I really could use another shopping spree.”

“I’ll be sure to check it out.” Or she’d try to. She usually had a very planned out shopping trip, but she’d do her best to work in the small boutique in somewhere. “Definitely one of my faves.” Georgette sighed. “Girl, I feel you. I haven’t been shopping since like...yesterday.”
