“It’s weeks from Labor Day. Just weeks till fall semester. What I’m looking forward to the most? Being done with the high school, all of it. Mama’s got bigger fish to fry.”
pxsitivelyprimeval:
“You have precisely thirty seconds to explain why you are bothering me– what do you want?”
“You’re blocking my car. I’m not moving till you scoot that hunk of junk that’s blocking my cherry red little beauty.”
“I think I can do without the conversation, really. ‘Kinglet, grow a pair and get over her’ or maybe ‘Baby Price if they’re over then it’s a green light so stop moping about it and nut up’ or you may just roll your eyes so hard you pass out and I’m not equipped to deal with that situation.” He sighed, shifting in his chair as his eyes trailed up the girl. “So, I’m going to take the Maddison in my head’s advice and take you up on that bottle rather than what I’m sure would’ve been a ground breaking heart to heart.”
“Oh, K and Douchey are finally calling it quits? That’s a long time coming. No offense, Er Bear, but your brother’s a little, well, douchey,” Maddison said, laughing. “But this is good new bears for you, little duck. Closure at last. No more if they weren’t together, we’d be together or whatever after-school special runs through your head. There’s nothing keeping you and K apart other than the fact that you two are monumentally barf-worthy together. So don’t grow a pair and get over her– grow a pair and get over yourself.” Maddison pulled a bottle out of her oversized bag and passed it over. “I was celebrating the end of a reign,” she said with a shrug. “I guess it’s only fair to share it with the little dude who shared the load.”
That’s probably accurate, to be honest.
If I’m the only one left to talk to, I know you’re in the shit. So just spill it already, I’ll give you a hug and then give you a bottle and make sure you don’t choke on your puke. Be a good boy and I’ll even let you tell people I played naughty nurse if you want to, just keep your hands at ten and two.
She smirked, “Naw, doesn’t mean they won’t keep popping up and after all most rumours usually have an inkling of truth” she replied with a chuckle. “Well, even if he didn’t, I hate to be the one to break it to you but you wouldn’t be his next choice either–”
“I wouldn’t be his hundredth choice, and that’s how I want it,” Maddison scoffed, incredulous. “Now seriously, Raven. If you’re going to call yourself a journalist or a gossip rag or whatever it is you’re calling yourself nowadays, at least print the truth. However inkling it is. I haven’t been with a guy, done the dirty, or even batted my eyelashes all year. Like I said, I don’t have time for little boys. I have bigger fish to fry.”
“Sorry, what? It’s been a long day.”
Christ, Er Bear. You need a drink or a hooker.
Theres no need to be rude sugar, besides you’re graduating right? You joining us at Walt U next year?
I am graduating. And I’ll be taking some classes on campus over the summer, and then I’ll be there in the fall, yeah.
She tilted her head a little, grinning as the Maddison she knew made a reappearance “Claws aways little Queen, when you slum it you play by our rules–” she replied, “– besides I leave the lap dances to yourself, it’s always best to let the professionals do their thing after all –”
“Now, now, little bird,” Maddison said, stopping her swaying to the music. “I know people like to find the dirt on me, and when it’s true, I don’t care what people say. But I don’t allow those nasty rumors about me and other boys to go around. I don’t have time for little boys.” Maddison pushed her hair over her shoulder, shrugging nonchalantly. “Besides, little Kinglet still has a sock with K’s name on it, and I don’t share,” she said. “It’s a shame, too. Eric’s a genuinely good guy when you get past all the whining. But I don’t want to come second-best to a wet dream.”
Well I know what I saw, and I definitely saw that. Why be ashamed, that’s nice of you.
Christ, why are you still talking?
She shook her head, “Not at all just curious as to why little blondie seems to be so interested in slumming it” she replied, shrugging a little before returning her attention to the blonde. “This doesn’t seem exactly like your kinda place Maddison – can’t help me for wondering why you’re here” she smirked, wondering how many times she would ask herself that question tonight.
Maddison downed her drink before shrugging at Raven. “Like I said, I’m off the clock,” she quipped. “And like you said, this is the slums. I’m taking five; where else am I supposed to go for that? Beside,” she said, raising her eyebrow. “Trust me; I can handle myself in a place like this. It’s not exactly Harry’s House of Horrors.” Maddison shrugged carelessly. “Same question, your turn. I thought you’d be at home playing scrabble with little Baby Brother, or giving the Kinglet a lap dance. What gives?”
Maddison Edmonds | Mertle | FC: Skyler Samuels | Age: 18 | Senior | TAKEN
“What do you want, WeirdLo?”
Early Life:
Maddison Edmonds was always a very pretty girl. That was her definition really, pretty with not a lot there. She was vain, superficial and the definition of spoilt, privileged child. She was bratty, rude, judgemental and often a bully. Which is why everyone always found it so strange that she was the best of friends with Lilo Pelekai. The two were polar opposites, Lilo in her hand-me downs and Maddison in her expensively designed clothes trying to mimic the top ranking insiders of the high school food chain. But one thing everyone was certain of was that the girls were practically sisters even if one was a materialistic brat and the other a dog loving tomboy. Maddison had the luxury of being born into an upperclass family, parents that spoilt her rotten, buying her whatever toys and clothes she desired. When she got a puppy for her birthday, it wasn’t enough to have a pet but rather a purebred from a long line so she could show it off. She was a popular redheaded beauty from the youngest of ages, but she was always greedy for social climbing and approval of Kira Pride. It was common knowledge that after she graduated the girl would choose the next Queen Bee as Eric would choose King. Maddison would be the chosen if it killed her.
However when her best friend Lilo’s parents died in a car crash, everything changed. Lilo changed. No matter how much Maddison pushed her way to be around her, trying to offer sympathy’s, Lilo wouldn’t hear it. Time and time again she was shut down, her best friend unwilling to even speak to her. So in attempt to give the girl the freedom she clearly needed she left her alone, knowing that when the wounds weren’t so fresh that Lilo would come back to her and everything would go back to normal. So instead she focused on her other friends, on keeping the Queen bee and her cheerleaders happy in some attempt to stay in good graces. And like she’d suspected, Lilo began attending class again, laughing, hanging around with her and Genevieve. But something was different, before when Maddison would whine Lilo would at least attempt to fake being sympathetic, now the girl just rolled her eyes and offered a sarcastic comment. It was like she couldn’t stand her, but they were supposed to be best friends right?
Maddison was relieved to see Lilo start dancing and having fun again, it was only a matter of time until they were best friends again, or so she thought. Lilo was rude, weird and distant. Texts went unanswered, calls straight to voicemail and every time she went around Lilo “mysteriously” wasn’t home. Slowly the red head began losing all patience for the situation and the girl in question. All she wanted was to help, even if it was in her own brattish way, if Lilo didn’t want her, she wasn’t going to push anymore. She’d give the girl exactly what she expect of her, a cold hearted, Queen Bee copy cat. The only problem was Maddison’s cousin Genevieve, a mutual friend of the girls was battling tooth and nail to bring the pair together again.
Present Day:
Since drifting Maddison and Lilo have been at each others throats nonstop. What started off as simple irritation has merged to a fully fledged war between the two as Lilo’s betrayal brought out the worst in Maddison. She began to relentlessly bully her former sister with an unexpected amount of malice. Anything she knew could hurt Lilo slipped from between her teeth in an attempt to humiliate her, she even began calling her WeirdLo. The best part was that Lilo couldn’t do a thing to stop it, not with Kira’s careful eyes on the pair. But something Maddison didn’t figure into the equation was that Kira wasn’t always there to protect her. One day she’d let a joke about Lilo’s parents slip, instantly regretting the words, however she didn’t have a second moment for guilt as Lilo tackled her to the floor beating her bloody, resulting in the other girls immediate suspension. Maddison’s parents were furious, the red head nursed a broken nose and all hell seemed to break loose when Lilo refused to apologise in front of everyone. Maddison knew she shouldn’t have said what she did, but the little freak had broken her nose and she was going to pay.
Neither of them expected anything else to happen after Lilo finally returned to school, it was expected they’d go back to throwing insults towards one another and loathing each other and Maddison would begin making the other girl’s life even harder than it already was. But the guidance counsellor had other ideas about the pair. In some attempt to find common ground and peace, the counsellor made them “volunteer life guard buddies”. They were to go to the beach every weekend until the end of summer and help with any of the life guards duties. Maddison objected and had even demanded a lawyer, she was the victim here! Why should she have to give crusty old men mouth to mouth because WeirdLo couldn’t control her temper.
Maddison just wants to be popular, that’s all she wants in the whole wide world. To be a Queen just like Kira and have boys adore her, doing anything just to get her attention. But when Kira’s favour begins to sway towards her new best friend Odelia… Well lets just say Maddison wouldn’t be going down without a fight. She’d chosen popularity over friendship before and look how it’d turned out. There was no way she was going to lose to some middle class triplet with over bearing siblings. It was all so complicated, sabotage, paranoia, bitchy slander, it almost made her miss the simple days with WeirdLo where she could just laugh and ride her bike around the island, but like she said… Almost.

INSIDER | OUTSIDER | LIMBO
She had been making idle conversation with an old outsider acquaintance, gaining information and what she had missed out on the past few months when she had been lost in exile. As the outsider paused, turning with a confused stare in the direction of the dance floor Raven followed suit, raising an eyebrow as she found Maddison waving in her direction. “Did the world go completely nuts when I was gone?” she asked quietly, turning to the outsider with a questioning gaze before pushing her frame off the bar heading to the blonde with a questioning gaze “Maddison–” she greeted, keeping her tone neutral.
Maddison didn’t normally drink. When she drank, she was foolish, and she hated being foolish. She was a leader, and this year had gone off without a hitch– all she had to do was get through crowning the new junior twerp who could deal with the headache and then it’d be greener grasses. She’d loved ending high school on top, but she was done, high school was over, and she didn’t want to be that washed-up queen who couldn’t let go. She was ready to hand off the crown and be done, well and truly. But tonight, she’d found herself in one of the outsider bars. She couldn’t remember why she’d allowed herself to be dragged here, but after enough shots, any place would be good enough. When Raven came over, Maddison gave her a confused smile. “Raven,” she repeated in the same tone Raven had used. “If this is going to be anything other than normal bitchy, I don’t want to hear it. I’m off the clock till the crowning.”
I’m lost, did I or did I not just see you give that homeless guy money?
You’re lost.
Well I mean it sounded a little like you. Not literally. It wasn’t your voice so it sounded nothing like you but it sounded like something you might do if you were in a really good mood. Or if there was something in it for you, which sounds way more likely. Not that you’re not nice. Heck, you know how you are.
G, stop talking for a second. Just.... breathe. Now..... I just... was in a profoundly good mood. Don’t make anything of it.
You might want to do yourself a favor and fact-check. That doesn’t sound much like me, does it?
She’d clearly been too preoccupied in her own petty problems to be watching the social scene too carefully, it wasn’t the same when people avoided you for pity rather than fear. She stepped into the club, a playful wink at the bouncer as he mentioned how long it had been, before wandering to the bar and grabbing a drink – the man behind it handing the drink over without a single word of protest. Leaning against it, she surveyed the crowd, listening to the music as she waited for something to happen.
Maddison was drunk. She was more than drunk, actually: she was graduating. And with that, she was dead set on leaving all the high school drama behind her. She’d promised herself she was going to leave a different kind of legacy– the girl who had peaced out and didn’t care when it was all said and done. She was over her spat with Weird-lo– at least for the day. Her baggage was packed up and set in the proverbial corner for her to deal with at another time. Or, preferably, never. Maddison was tired, to be honest, and holding onto everything had only made her more tired. She was never going to be as bubbly as Gigi– and she’d never want to be– but she was drunk and happy, a combination that led her onto the dance floor, bouncing with the beat with no care as to the steps she was taking. She spotted a familiar head of ebony not far from where she was on the dance floor, and in her vodka-soaked judgement, actually cracked a smile and waved to the girl.
