I am BEGGING y'all to get put and vote in the midterms. The Republicans have been so incredibly open about what their roadmap is, and it involves shit like this and a whole bunch of other horrific shit.

The midterms matter – possibly more than the presidential election. The midterms are what decides what the president has the power to do for the remainder of his term, and you can either give him democrats who will work with him, or Republicans who will blockade everything he tries to pass, and who will then work together to usher in Trump 2024.

Please for the love of everything you hold dear, get out and vote in November, I am begging you.

To clarify: slavery as “punishment for a crime” is legal across the US. These 5 states are voting on making it ACTUALLY illegal, even in prisons.

These are NOT the 5 states I’d have expected to be on the forefront of “make slavery actually really truly illegal” and it’s a GOOD thing they’re trying to do.

So go vote if you can.

The 5 states affected:

Alabama. If you live in Alabama, register to vote by October 24th. Louisiana. If you live in Louisiana, register to vote by October 11th. Oregon.  If you live in Oregon, register to vote by October 18th. Tennessee. If you live in Tennessee, register to vote by October 11th. Vermont.  Vermont allows same-day voting registration so there is no registration deadline.

hey. it's okay to feel and express negative emotions. you're allowed to experience the entire array of emotions available to you. you do not have to silence these feelings.

negative emotions aren't at all pleasant to experience, but they often tell you something is wrong. and it's okay for something to be wrong. you don't have to be okay all the time.

you aren't doing anything wrong by not being okay or having complaints. especially if the cause of that is someone else committing a wrong against you. that isn't your fault. you don't need to don't punish yourself for something someone did to you.

Biden made a speech calling out the extremists who attacked the Capitol in order to overturn an election, and he was labeled as "divisive".

Trump called someone who peacefully protested against police brutality a "son of a bitch", and he was applauded for it.

The "fuck your feelings" crowd seem to be really angry when the feelings being fucked are their own. If you applaud Trump for "speaking his mind" or "telling it like it is", you can't complain when Biden does exactly that.
