Micro Rant on Hinata

Apparently some folks have come to call Hinata the “Lioness of the Leaf” A very odd choice of words considering her complete lack of concern for her children let alone anyone else who is not Naruto. A lioness will attack the pride leader to protect her cubs. Hinata won’t even put forth the effort to protect hers from falling rocks.

So I finally watched the Boruto movie and…I’m disappointed with what happened when those sages attacked the stadium. Of course we got Sakura and Temari being truly badass protecting all the citizens. I don’t remember seeing Ino pulling off any moves but I know she was at least competent. Why? Because she had to go…help Hinata get Himawari out of danger. Like Ino doesn’t have a skill set that would help her stop massive slabs of concrete from crushing dozens of people, but she does have the basic ninja ability of “jumping out of the way”. Guess who else has that ability? Um, Hinata? At least last time I checked. You would think being the “Byakugan Princess” she’d be pulling all kinds of moves out of her butt to protect her daughter. But naaah, instead Ino has to run over and practically take her by the hand to guide her to safety like she was a complete and utter normie. When I saw that two second scene my jaw dropped. And then later on we see her getting healed by Sakura, like she still somehow managed to get hurt? Fukkin HOW?! Turns out she can’t ninja jump Himawari, her daughter, to safety but she can still stupidly charge in to save Naruto who is at this point the strongest human in the world, so what good she thought she could do is anybody’s guess. Instead of being responsible and helping others, once again she practically kills herself to “save” someone who does not, and never needed her. And to further insult the viewer this happens off screen.

And once again without Sakura, Hinata might have died, this time with the heavier consequence of potentially making orphans of her own children. “Lioness” my ass.
